Tom Cat is the secondary antagonist of the 2015 Chinese war film Wolf Warrior.
He is portrayed by Scott Adkins, who also played Weapon XI in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Hector in The Expendables 2, King Amphitryon in The Legend of Hercules, Lucian in Doctor Strange, Barton Geddes in Ip Man 4: The Finale, Killa Harkan in John Wick: Chapter 4 and Angus Mackenzie in The Killer's Game.
Biography[]
Wu Ji, the brother of international crime boss Ming Deng, was rounded up by People's Liberation Army Special Operations Forces and Chinese police in a drug-smuggling operation. Wu Ji was shot and killed by sniper Leng Feng as he tried to take advantage of the hostage threat.
Ming Deng was arrested by Interpol in Southeast Asia, but he was ready to be rescued by mercenaries like Tom Cat, Mad Cow and Monkey. The mercenaries soon killed all of The Interpol. When Ming Deng learned of his brother's death, he asked Tom Cat's team to invade China to find the murderer Leng Feng and kill him for revenge. Ming Deng, on the other hand, wanted to smuggle genetic samples into the country in order to work with an international biopharmaceutical company to develop a genetic weapon against the Chinese. But he warned Tom Cat not to belittle China's power, and Tom Cat did not take China seriously.
Leng Feng, who had been punished for disobeying orders, was sent by Lieutenant Colonel Long Xiao Yun to take part in exercises with the Wolf Warrior detachment for the exercise. During the exercise, Tom Cat and others located Leng Feng's team. When Leng Feng and the others passed through the forest the next day, a trap set by Tom Cat attacked them. Tom Cat kills a Wolf Warrior soldier, Yu Fei.
The mercenaries were attacked by the PLA's helicopter gunships during their escape, but they managed to avoid it. As the PLA entered combat status, Wolf Warrior detachment and other troops headed for the jungles leading to the border, where the mercenary regiment was about to flee. In the jungle, the Chinese army was attacked by mercenaries. A mercenary spiner "Assassin" kill soldiers by surrounding them with corpses, a tactic that reminds Leng Feng of his father's Sino-vietnamese War encounter. But now Leng thought of covering the wounded soldiers by knocking down trees. To defeat the Assassin, Leng Feng disarmed and ran, forcing the Assassin to move to a different location to snipe him. Assassin was eventually approached and killed by Leng Feng. Other Chinese soldiers also killed Monkey, Driver, Cowboy, and Mad Cow.
Tom Cat sent a message to Ming Deng about the Chinese border guard and fled to the border. Leng Feng chased after him and finally stopped him at the border. After they ran out of weapons, they engaged in a cold arms battle. Leng Feng was eventually subdued by Tom Cat, but when he let his guard down and insulted China, he stabbed him in the throat and let him die. With the deaths of Tom Cat and his mercenary squad, Leng arrested Ming Deng and others disguised as PLA soldiers to thwart his plot.
