Tom Keen is a major character in The Blacklist TV series, appearing as a supporting antagonist in season one, a main character in the rest of the seasons, and the main protagonist of The Blacklist: Redemption.

He was a former thief who was assigned to spy on Elizabeth Keen for Raymond Reddington before being fired. After working with his mentor, he started spying on her again, but eventually came to genuinely love her, doing anything to protect her.

He is portayed by Ryan Eggold who also played Walter Breachway in BlacKkKlansman and Ed Ramsey in Cross.

Biography

Tom Keen, born Christopher Hargrave, is a character in The Blacklist, described as a man with multiple identities and a dark past. Kidnapped at the age of three by his parents, he grows up as "Jacob Phelps", a small-time thief who becomes an agent under the supervision of a mysterious secret trainer, The Major. As an adult, he is hired by Raymond Reddington to monitor Elizabeth Keen, but falls in love with her, and when Reddington fires him, Tom takes refuge with Milos Kirchoff's syndicate.

He adopts the identity of "Thomas Vincent Keen" and begins working as an elementary school teacher. He and Liz marry and attempt to adopt a child. However, his true nature as a spy and assassin is revealed when Liz finds a box containing fake passports, money, and a gun, thus discovering that Tom has a secret life. Despite this, they confront each other and continue to live together.

Throughout the series, Tom plays a double game between his family ties and the secret assignments he receives from various employers, including Reddington and Kirchoff. His relationship with Liz becomes complicated, especially when she reveals that his marriage to her was a mission by her organization. His alliances and loyalties are constantly tested, and in the end, Tom is murdered by Ian Garvey, after living a life plagued by lies and violence.

Tom's death marks a crucial point in the plot, as his and Liz's deaths leave their daughter, Agnes, in the hands of Harold Cooper.
