Tomas G. Tuazon, also known as "Papa Tom," is a major antagonist in the 2015 Filipino TV series FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, serving as the secondary antagonist of the first two seasons. He is the main leader of a major drug and human trafficking syndicate and the father of Joaquin Tuazon and is married to Emilio Syquia's daughter, Verna Syquia.
He was portrayed by Albert Martinez, who also portrayed Roberto Guerrero in FPJ's Batang Quiapo.
Biography[]
He is shown as managing brutal kidnappings and murders to maintain control over opposing syndicates. He also kidnaps and later kills Carmen De Guzman, the wife of Ador De Leon, Ricardo Dalisay's brother, in order to obtain information about his victims from his son, Joaquin Tuazon. He was then apprehended in a huge narcotics bust led by Cardo and his allies, convicted, and sentenced to Bilibid Prison. Inside the prison, he rules like a criminal lord and even acts like a boss by issuing orders and betting on fights against Cardo Dalisay. He also intentionally antagonizes Cardo by forcing and pressuring other inmates to attack and hurt him.
Despite being imprisoned, he plots an escape and disguises himself as a soldier to confront Cardo. During their fight, Tomas fires his grenade launcher at Cardo, but it misses, while his son, Joaquin, and his posse are advancing in perimeters on the other side of the prison. He enters a prison cell where Cardo went in to take cover and shoots everything only to get jumped by him, making Tomas disarm his rifle. He then grabs his knife and slices Cardo's arm and stomach while almost stabbing him in a fatal area, which doesn't work, as Cardo punches him, injuring both of them. They then exited the cell, fighting in the hallway. He was then able to weaken Cardo to the point where he was nearly unconscious before trying to push him against a sharp, fractured steel bar of the cell. This, however, resulted in his demise since, while shoving Cardo towards the bar, he regained consciousness and made a backflip, causing Tomas to be impaled in the chest. His son then arrives, failing to kill Cardo and save Tomas, who then pulled himself out of the metal bar and lay down against the wall while bleeding out and slowly dying.
