Tomoe Tsurugi is a second antagonist in the 2015 French superhero cartoon series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. She is the mother of Kagami Tsurugi and the business partner and friend of Gabriel Agreste/Hawk Moth. She is later revealed to be aware of the latter's supervillain identity and assisting him in his plans to steal Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous, intending to fulfil an unspecified agreement between them. In the episodes "Ikari Gozen" and "Multiplication", she is Akumatized into Ikari Gozen, a mechanical centaur/samurai villain. In the episode "Pretension", she is akumatized into Matagi Gozen, an upgraded form of Ikari Gozen.
In the French dub, she is voiced by Frédérique Marlot. In the English dub, she is voiced by Minae Noji, who also portrayed Karai in the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, Idunn in Fire Emblem Heroes, Alopex in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, and Tomoe in Lupin the third: part 6.
Biography[]
Season 3[]
In "Animaestro", Tomoe first appears attending the premiere of Les Aventures de Ladybug & Chat Noir with her daughter. She and Kagami are greeted by Adrien, Nathalie Sancouer, and Gabriel (attending the event via tablet), and hands over some documents to Gabriel, stamping one of them with her signature. Later, she speaks to Adrien and compliments him, claiming to now understand why Kagami talks so much about him.
In "Backwarder", Tomoe and Kagami join the Agrestes in attending a wedding in England. While on the train with Gabriel, Tomoe senses his unease at being away from home, advising him not to give in to his fears. She is then shown being surprised as Gabriel suddenly stands from his seat and heads to the bathroom (plotting to Akumatize Marianne Lenoir).
In "Feast", Tomoe listens to Clara Contard's report on the sudden reappearance of the Guardians' Temple in Tibet (as a result of the Dormant Sentimonster's defeat), appearing intrigued.
In "Ikari Gozen", Tomoe practices fencing with Kagami in the Jardin des Tuileries. When Kagami claims that she is unworthy to fight her, Tomoe lectures her on the story of the legendary samurai warrior Tomoe Gozen, who did not give up in spite of female warriors being unaccepted. She overhears Kagami's phone notify her that she has been accepted into Paris' Friendship Day competition, becoming displeased hearing that her daughter has signed up for it without her permission. She and Kagami then walk to her self-driving car, Tatsu, where Kagami mentions that Adrien is also participating in the contest; in response, Tomoe criticizes Gabriel Agreste for being too permissive with his son, remarking that he is more blind than she is. Tomoe orders Tatsu to take her to the Grand Palais, and then take Kagami back home, claiming that she will return in two hours. With her mother gone, Kagami fools Tatsu into taking her to participate in the Friendship Day contest, intending to finish within two hours.
During the contest, Kagami ends up being partnered with Marinette, who attempts to sabotage them in order to prevent the former and Adrien from being together; however, she relents after realizing that Kagami has no other contacts than her mother, and genuinely wishes to become her friend. Not long after, Tomoe calls her daughter upon realizing that she isn’t at home, and becomes even more enraged when Marinette answers the phone, inadvertently revealing that Kagami had disobeyed her orders and participated in the contest. Sensing her frustration at being disobeyed, Hawk Moth sends his Akuma (initially intended for Kagami) towards Tomoe, akumatizing her and Tatsu into Ikari Gozen—a giant, mechanical centaur-like samurai.
Ikari leaps over to Kagami and Marinette, yelling at her daughter for disobeying her, stating that she will never go outside again. She then grabs and swallows Kagami, trapping her within her car interior-like stomach. Marinette transforms into Ladybug and faces Ikari alongside Cat Noir, soon retrieving the Dragon Miraculous from Master Fu in order to defeat her. Upon returning, Ladybug deduces that Ikari's Akuma is inside her bokken, and uses her Lucky Charm to summon a box of bath bombs, quickly formulating a plan. Ladybug and Cat Noir subsequently launch the box and Dragon Miraculous into Ikari's mouth, which both reach Kagami. Kagami dons the Dragon Miraculous and meets its Kwami, Longg; however, rather than listen to him explain Ladybug's plan, she impulsively transforms into Ryuko, using her Wind Dragon power to escape her imprisonment.
Against Ladybug's wishes, Ryuko confronts her mother—thereby exposing her secret identity to Hawk Moth—who demands that Ikari obtain her Miraculous as well. Ikari lambasts her daughter for disobeying her again and duels with her, resulting in Cat Noir being swallowed and imprisoned. Ladybug and Ryuko take cover, where the latter apologizes for her hasty behavior and complies with Ladybug's plan to stop Ikari; thus, presenting and surrendering herself to her mother. Ikari remarks that her daughter has finally learned sense and swallows her; within Ikari, Ryuko uses her Water Dragon power and dissolves the bath bombs. Ikari becomes weakened by this and spits out Cat Noir, who destroys her bokken with his Cataclysm.
Tomoe is de-akumatized and questions where her daughter is, with Ryuko assuring her that she will be there soon. Sometime later, Kagami meets with her mother, declaring that she wanted to make a friend. Tomoe insists that she already has Adrien and follows by claiming that friendships can prove disappointing. Reluctantly, she relents and tells Kagami to be home in time for dinner before driving off, allowing her to spend the rest of the afternoon with Marinette.
In "Hearthunter", Tomoe attends André and Audrey Bourgeois' anniversary party with Kagami. She reluctantly allows Kagami and Adrien to help Marinette, and later expresses confusion when they haven't returned.
Season 5[]
In "Multiplication", Tomoe begins working closely with Gabriel when he becomes inactive as Monarch, which is noticed by Adrien. During this time, she and Gabriel invite Adrien and Lila Rossi to one of her facilities, scanning them to be digitized. Later on, Tomoe is akumatized into Ikari Gozen, and appears before Collège Françoise Dupont. Ikari declares that all the old buildings in Paris must be destroyed to make way for a new city and crushes the school with her bokken, jumping away. Marinette and Adrien transform to confront Ikari, who manages to destroy the Arc de Triumph. Cat Noir attempts to use his Cataclysm on her sword; however, she proves to be too fast for him to hit. Once Ladybug manages to catch her sword with her yo-yo, Ikari calls upon the Mouse Miraculous' power of Multiplication, to Ladybug and Cat Noir's horror.
With Multiplication, Ikari splits herself into multiple smaller copies and begins destroying Paris, while also attacking Ladybug and Cat Noir. Ladybug summons a fishing rod with her Lucky Charm and forms a plan, luring Ikari and her clones to the destroyed school. Ikari attempts to strike Ladybug, only for Cat Noir to use the fishing rod and a steel beam to trap her bokken, allowing him to Cataclysm it and de-akumatize her. Ladybug and Cat Noir meet with Tomoe, who claims that the city refused to let her tear up Buttes-Chaumont Park to build a new techno pool. The heroes advise Tomoe to build it elsewhere, and that Paris' monuments are what make it a beautiful city, before asking if she possesses the Mouse Miraculous.
Tomoe searches herself and is unable to find the Miraculous, which Cat Noir determines to be the surprise Monarch prepared for them while he was absent. Ladybug restores the city with her Miraculous Ladybug and grants Tomoe a Magical Charm before leaving with Cat Noir. Tomoe gets into Tatsu and heads back to her office, contacting Gabriel using a smart ring. She declares that their "prototype" was a success, and he remarks that they can move onto the next phase of their plan—revealing that Tomoe was akumatized willingly and is now working with him. Following this, Tomoe and Gabriel successfully unveil their Alliance rings—smart rings created by both their companies—to the public, which proves to be a success.
In "Destruction", which takes place concurrently with "Multiplication", Gabriel engages in a deal with Tomoe sometime after being hit by Cat Noir's Cataclysm and destroying the Miraculous, receiving a spherical device. Using Tomoe's device, he is able to reshape the destroyed Miraculous into Alliance rings, which he begins wearing as Monarch in order to transmit Miraculous powers into any Akumatized villain also wearing an Alliance.
In "Illusion", after taking advantage of Nino Lahiffe's Resistance movement to manipulate his enemies, Gabriel contacts Tomoe. He informs her that he has used fooled Ladybug and Cat Noir into believing that he is transmitting his Miraculous powers through magical lightning, meaning they will never connect his villains' powers to their Alliance rings, to her delight.
In "Perfection", Kagami, while akumatized as Ryukomuri, recalls training alongside her mother and remarks that she was right to warn her about friendships being disappointing. Later, after Kagami is de-akumatized, Tomoe appears in Gabriel's atelier and attacks him with her bokken in response to him endangering her daughter and sending an akuma into her ring. Furious, she threatens to destroy his dream if he goes against their agreement, just as he tried to destroy her dream in the past, adding that Gabriel owes everything to her; reluctantly, Gabriel agrees.
In "Intuition", Tomoe and her company launch a new space jet, piloted by Claudie Kanté and managed by the Affective Decision Assistance System (a.k.a. A.D.A.), an advanced artificial intelligence. As part of his latest plan to use the power of Second Chance against Ladybug and Cat Noir, Monarch calls Tomoe and asks that she give him the access code for the jet. Tomoe refuses his request and deduces that he is trying to hide something from her. Monarch uses Second Chance repeatedly to try and get the code from her without revealing his motives, failing each time.
Tomoe eventually detects Monarch's irregular heartbeat, realizing that he is weak. Monarch is forced to admit that his health is failing after being injured by Cat Noir's Cataclysm, and, wanting to ensure that he succeeds and creates a new world, Tomoe willingly hands over the code. Monarch thanks Tomoe, but then resets time with Second Chance to make her forget their transaction. He subsequently uses the code to disable A.D.A.'s sensors and make her unable to sense Claudie as part of his plan to akumatize her and defeat Ladybug and Cat Noir, which ultimately fails.
In "Protection", Tomoe and Gabriel meet in the former's mansion. Tomoe inquires why Gabriel wants to move up the date of their annual Diamonds Dance; Gabriel lies that it is a scheduling problem, and Tomoe rages at his disrespect, able to hear his heart pounding. Gabriel relents and admits that he wants to move the date as he doesn't have much time left, revealing his Cataclysm injury to her. She and Gabriel then overhear Adrien and Kagami talking in the kitchen, and mistakenly believe that they are talking about their romance. They both express pride in their children falling in love, exactly as they had planned; until realizing that Adrien is really planning a date between himself and Marinette.
The two argue, blaming each other for Kagami and Adrien's relationship failing, ending with Tomoe ordering Gabriel to control his son so that Kagami cannot encourage his love for Marinette. She permits the date of the Diamond Dance to be moved up, and warns Gabriel that, if he cannot get the Miraculouses, their children's situation must be resolved before his death. Tomoe leaves with Kagami, and, while driving away, advises her daughter to continue pursuing her feelings for Adrien, despite his feelings for Marinette. This, along with Lila's manipulations, later results in Kagami being akumatized into Riposte Prime by Monarch.
In "Emotion", Tomoe trains with Kagami, ending in the latter's defeat and Tomoe ordering her to get ready for the Diamonds Dance. At the dance, Tomoe greets Gabriel, expressing annoyance that Adrien is late, as he and Kagami are to be the dance's king and queen. "Adrien" then arrives and greets her and Kagami; shortly afterwards, she witnesses Amelie Graham de Vanily burst into the dance and accuse Gabriel of doing nothing to help her find her son Félix, before being escorted out. Tomoe enters the dance with Gabriel and socializes with the other guests, observing Kagami and Adrien with pride. As the dance goes on, Adrien encourages Kagami to defy her mother's control and leave the dance with him, which she refuses.
The dance is soon interrupted by the arrival of Marinette, whom Gabriel heads to confront, leaving Tomoe confused. As he is dancing with Marinette, Félix soon reveals his identity and transforms into the villain Argos, unleashing the Sentimonster Red Moon upon Tomoe and the other guests. Tomoe attempts to flee with Kagami after Argos uses his power to destroy Gabriel and the other partygoers, only to be destroyed as well; Argos then telling Kagami that she is now truly free. Like the other citizens of Paris, Tomoe is ultimately returned after Argos undoes his actions and destroys Red Moon. The next day, Kagami, inspired by Marinette and Adrien, decides to have a heart-to-heart with her mother.
In "Pretension", Tomoe is present in Gabriel's lair when he hooks himself into a machine designed to siphon the Kwamis' energies to deter his worsening Cataclysm injury. When Gabriel declares that he will use the Miraculous to save himself, Nathalie and Emilie, Tomoe dismisses his sentimentality. She reminds him that their goals are much deeper and that she expects him to fulfil their agreement, including controlling Adrien as perfectly as she controls Kagami, and that she will no longer tolerate interference in their plans from Marinette, Félix, or anyone else. Gabriel assures her that he will reign in Adrien soon, and that they will also reclaim the Peacock Miraculous from Félix. He also hands her one of devices his nephew used the last time he visited, which she finds interesting. Tomoe later arrives in Tatsu to pick up Kagami from her fencing lessons.
As they drive away, Kagami tries to reason with her mother to no longer view her and Adrien as a couple; Tomoe merely criticizes her daughter for being controlled by her emotions. Angered by Tomoe's harsh words, Argos, who had been following Kagami, slashes the roof with his fan, crashing Tatsu and kidnapping Kagami. Realizing what has happened, Tomoe dons multiple Alliance rings and contacts Monarch to inform him of the situation. Monarch sends an akuma to Tomoe and transforms her and Tatsu into Matagi Gozen, arming her with the powers of Multitude, Sublimation, Venom, Voyage and Clout. He instructs her to defeat Argos and reclaim the Peacock Miraculous so that their children can live happily ever after, a prospect that she happily agrees with.
Matagi uses Sublimation to grant herself and her steed a superhuman sense of smell, allowing them to track Argos' scent from one of his feathers. She splits herself into four copies with Multiplication and pursues Argos until losing his scent, beginning to teleport across the city with Voyage in pursuit of him, alerting Marinette and Adrien. Having lost Argos completely, she realizes that he has detransformed, and instead begins pursuing Félix's scent from his device. She tracks Félix to the Eiffel Tower, and confronts him as he is talking to Kagami, soon joined by Ladybug and Cat Noir. Félix transforms and escapes with Kagami, pursued by two of Matagi's copies and Ladybug, while the other two stay behind and fight Cat Noir. Matagi expresses disgust at the heroes for interfering in her attempt to rescue Kagami, and refuses to listen when they attempt to talk her down.
Cat Noir is cornered by Matagi and forced to escape with his Cataclysm; Matagi pursues his scent into the sewers, but loses it when he detransforms. Simultaneously, one of Matagi's clones detains Ladybug while the other continues to pursue Kagami and Argos. Kagami decides to surrender herself in order to spare Argos, refuting his claims that he intends to free her from Tomoe's control. At that moment, Matagi discovers Kagami and tries to paralyze her with a Venom arrow, until Argos saves her. Kagami expresses horror that her mother would try to attack her, and Argos remarks that how own father was worse. Matagi continues her pursuit, only to reel in horror as she realizes that Argos has split his fan into pieces, spreading his scent across Paris. Even so, Maragi and her clones reunite and track Félix, Kagami, Ladybug and Cat Noirs into the sewers.
She fires upon the heroes, who defend Félix and Kagami, and decide to finally trust the former to defeat Matagi. Félix transforms into Argos and escapes, distracting Matagi and her clones long enough for Ladybug, Cat Noir and Kagami to cut her bow's string, de-akumatizing her. Shortly after, Tomoe returns to Tatsu and calls Gabriel, confused at how their plan could've been foiled. Gabriel replies that her own pretension was their undoing, since Kagami has proven that she isn't as perfectly controlled as she claimed. Tomoe angrily hangs up, at which point Kagami enters Tatsu, and declares that her emotions aren't a weakness. In response, Tomoe denounces her daughter as weak and takes back her ring bearing their family crest as punishment, intending to control her by force if necessarily. Sometime later, Kagami secretly meets with Félix in a movie theatre, who hands her back her ring, revealing that the one she gave Tomoe was a fake.
In "Collusion", Tomoe and Gabriel meet with André Bourgeois at the Le Grand Paris hotel. She and Gabriel present their plan to introduce police robots designed by her company across Paris. André is hesitant to accept, although Tomoe insists that the current police are helpless against Monarch, and that it is better to rely on a force that he can control rather than Ladybug and Cat Noir. Chloé interrupts their meeting (secretly guided by Lila) and accuses her father of having no authority, making him step out from the meeting to take her away.Tomoe remarks that André is wasting valuable time that they—rather, Gabriel—cannot afford to waste, convincing him to follow André.
Outside, André expresses remorse for the things he has done as mayor and decides that there is still hope for him and Gabriel, turning down his and Tomoe's proposal. By manipulating footage of their conversation, Gabriel makes André appear cruel and corrupt, sending this footage to Ms. Bustier in order to akumatize her into the villain Miss Sans-Culottes. Once he has done so, he calls Tomoe to inform her that his trap for Ladybug and Cat Noir has been set, and that the only step let is to offer Chloé a gift of power. Once Miss Sans Culottes is defeated, Chloé takes over from her resigned father as mayor of Paris using Gabriel and Tomoe's police robots, and uses her position to declare Ladybug, Cat Noir and Monarch as outlaws.
In "Revolution", Gabriel and Tomoe attend a meeting with Chloé to ask about how she is finding the police robots, and compliment her success. Shortly after, Monarch calls Tomoe as they start to initiate their plan—which relies on Chloé making a mess of Paris until Ladybug and Cat Noir are forced to intervene, not knowing they will face a super-powered opponent. Monarch teleports himself into the mayor's office, where Chloé sets her police robots on him. Tomoe secretly disables the robots' offensive features, allowing Monarch to make an alliance with Chloé. He akumatizes her into Queen Mayor, and transmits the powers of the Turtle, Horse, Ox, Bee and Rooster Miraculouses into her robots to use as she pleases; Tomoe remarking that she'll have these powers for only as long as they need her.
That night, Tomoe and Gabriel attend a press conference in front of the Louvre where Queen Mayor announces her intentions to not host an election. Ladybug and Cat Noir arrive to stop Queen Mayor, only to be trapped by her robots inside Shell-ters empowered by Resistance. As this happens, Tomoe and Gabriel prepare to respectively take control back over the robots and de-Akumatize Queen Mayor in order to steal the captured heroes' Miraculouses. However, this plan is stopped when Ladybug rallies the people of Paris to resist Queen Mayor; the revolting citizens charge forward against Queen Mayor's barricade, knocking Tomoe's laptop away in the process.
Gabriel and Tomoe distance themselves from the battle, and watch in horror as the heroes "grow up", thus overcoming their transformation limitations; knowing they have lost, they are forced to flee. Following this, Gabriel forces Adrien to pack his bags for London, with Tomoe doing the same to Kagami off-screen. As Adrien is boarding the plane, Tomoe informs Gabriel that they have now sold enough Alliances globally to place the entire world at their mercy; Gabriel plotting to initiate "Operation Perfect Alliance" as soon as their children are safe in London. In the aftermath, Lila, who had been watching events from afar, seizes Tomoe's laptop and breaks into it to view the secrets within.
In "Representation", Tomoe calls Gabriel when they discover that Adrien and Kagami have escaped their respective rooms in London—Adrien fleeing as Astrocat in order to talk to Marinette, while Kagami takes off with Argos. Tomoe expresses outrage at this occurrence, and orders Gabriel to akumatize her. He refuses, instead akumatizing himself into the villain Nightormentor to track down Adrien himself; ultimately failing in this attempt after being defeated by Cat Noir and the Resistance.
Simultaneously, Kagami and Argos decide to stop Gabriel and Tomoe's plans so they can freely be together; to this end, they lead Marinette into the school, and use the Sentimonster Once Upon a Time to explain Félix's origins and why they now need her help as Ladybug. The next day, after Adrien and Kagami return to London, Gabriel and Tomoe have them locked in solitary confinement rooms for their disobedience. With their children secured, they prepare to initiate Operation Perfect Alliance to put an end to Ladybug and Cat Noir once and for all.
In "Conformation", Tomoe works with Gabriel in the final plan to retrieve the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses with the Perfect Alliance app and cuts the feed to play a hoaxed video of the two French superheroes "kidnapping" Adrien and Kagami when just enough people become addicted to it. Afterward, whoever's vulnerable enough can to be turned into Miraculized, soldiers ordered to hunt down Ladybug and Cat Nor and save Adrien and Kagami.
In "Re-creation", after Gabriel's sacrifice, Tomoe announces she will taking over the Agreste brand in honor of "continuing his legacy".
Miraculous London[]
Tomoe is mentioned in the special when Marinette, as Bug Noire, arrives to free Kagami and Adrien from their solitary confinement in London. When meeting up with Kagami, Marinette reveals what happened with Gabriel, and how she and Nathalie Sancoeur intend to lie to the public about Gabriel being Monarch. When Kagami mentions her mother being involved in Gabriel's psychotic plans as a willing partner, not wishing to have Tomoe face potential imprisonment for her crimes, leaving Kagami like Adrien with not having a parent in her life, Marinette leaves it up to Kagami to attempt to convince her mother to seek atonement, and use another lie that Tomoe and Gabriel had been forced by Monarch into creating the Alliance Rings to create the Miraculized against their will. This would serve as a link to Tomoe's decision in "Re-creation" when she announced her intention to take over Gabriel's company to so-call "continue his legacy".
As a result, when Adrien and Kagami return to Paris, Tomoe is waiting at the Startrain station with Nathalie. No words are exchanged between Kagami and her mother, and Tomoe departs with Kagami to return home, leaving it up to Kagami to uphold her promise to Marinette to talk to Tomoe and convince her to seek atonement for her crimes aiding Gabriel and keep the real truth of Gabriel being Monarch a secret from the public. It appears Kagami succeeded since the Alliance Rings were destroyed and re-forged into the statue to honor Gabriel, and Tomoe has not revealed the truth to anyone.
Personality[]
Tomoe is an austere and closed-off person. Similar to how Gabriel Agreste is with his son, she is very strict with her daughter, Kagami, not allowing her to have contact with anyone but herself, or participate in anything she has not already approved; even remarking that Gabriel is too permissive with Adrien. Due to her controlling nature, she reacts harshly when her orders are disobeyed, or if she thinks her daughter or others aren't living up to her standards. She is also disapproving of friendship, believing that forming bonds with others can lead to disappointment.
However, despite these qualities, she is shown to be capable of changing her ways, being convinced to allow her daughter to make a friend and seemingly giving her more freedom afterward. She can also be wise and informative, advising Gabriel not to give in to his fears in "Backwarder".
But as of her actions in "Multiplication", she has proven herself to be as blind as Gabriel and just like him she has put her daughter in a situation that she never should've been in.
Tomoe has a pretentious and sanctimonious attitude about Kagami being under her control, saying she has the ideal behavior and is too perfect for her to control. She doesn't take it lightly when Gabriel tells her she doesn't have her daughter under her control, despite her belief. Tomoe is willing to force Kagami into obedience if she has to.
As Ikari Gozen, Tomoe's negative traits are amplified, and she becomes even more belligerent and wrathful, seeking to punish Kagami for her disobedience by keeping her imprisoned. She retains complete confidence in her abilities as a swordswoman, proclaiming herself to be "as elusive as the wind, as powerful as the flood, as swift as lightning" during her battle with Ladybug and Cat Noir. When she is re-Akumatized, she becomes even more destructive, deliberately destroying many of Paris' buildings and landmarks.
Powers and Abilities[]
Tomoe is one of the most skilled fencers in the world, having at one point been a world champion, and easily surpassing her daughter's abilities. Despite her blindness, she is easily able to navigate the world around her and possesses heightened senses, able to read the emotions of those nearby. She seems to be a capable businesswoman, engaging in various deals with Gabriel Agreste throughout the series.
As Ikari Gozen, she wields a gigantic sword and superhuman strength, able to easily knock aside cars and buildings. Despite her size, she is rather nimble and can leap long distances. If she swallows someone or something, they become trapped inside of her mechanical body, which takes the form of a car interior with seat belts she can control and use to restrain captured victims. As a result of her Akumatization, her sight is also restored. In "Multiplication", she is given the Mouse Miraculous' power of Multiplication by her Alliance ring, using it to split herself into six identical copies, all possessing the same powers that she does.

Trivia[]
- In Japanese, the name Tomoe means "earth", "death" and/or "blessing". It also references Tomoe Gozen, a famous female samurai (and Miraculous holder), whom Tomoe herself admires.
- Her villain name, Ikari Gozen, also alludes to Tomoe Gozen, and translates to "Lady Fury" or "Lady of Fury".
- Her surname, Tsurugi, is a type of Japanese sword, referencing her fencing abilities.
- Judging by the angry response Tomoe received after Gabriel endangered Kagami in "Perfection", it is possible that her daughter's previous akumatizations were given under Tomoe's permission.
- In "Riposte", it is stated that Kagami has a grandfather, but it is unknown if he is Tomoe's father or father-in-law.
- Before being formally introduced in Season 3, Tomoe made an unseen cameo appearance in "Riposte", as Kagami leaves her a voice message after failing to make it into Armand D'Argencourt's fencing team. She also (presumably) arrives to pick Kagami up at the end of the episode.
