The history of Tenko Shimura, also better known as Tomura Shigaraki, from My Hero Academia.
Background[]
Back when he was Tenko Shimura, Tomura lived a miserable live under his father's abusive thumb.
Before becoming Tomura Shigaraki, Tenko Shimura was born as the second child of Nao and Kotaro Shimura, after his sister Hana. He was born after All For One persuaded his father to have another child, intending to mold the child into a new vessel for himself with warped willpower necessary to finally steal One For All. Tenko lived a normal live in a house his father built for the whole family, including his maternal grandparents, but there was one rule imposed by Kotaro: to never speak about heroes, whom he detested after being abandoned as a child by his mother. Due to loving heroes, Tenko was always severely punished by Kotaro, and while his relatives were there to comfort him, they never once tried to stand up to Kotaro. When he was five, Tenko saved his friends, Mikkun and Tomo, from being ran over, after which All For One, who disguised himself as an old man, helped him walk home, but secretly transferred the Quirk Decay when the boy held his hand.
The next day, Tenko and Hana snuck into their father's office, where they found a picture of their paternal grandmother, Nana Shimura. Realizing she was a hero, they decided to keep it a secret among each other, but Kotaro eventually found out, however, and proceeded to slap Tenko, while saying that heroes do nothing but hurt their loved ones to help complete strangers, using Nana's abandonment of him as an example. That night, Tenko would sit outside the house and cry, while venting his pent-up frustrations to his pet dog Mon about how he hates his family trying to sugarcoat his father's abuse instead of trying to confront him directly. It's at this moment Decay finally manifested, making Tenko accidentally kill Mon, before doing this to his sister, grandparents and mother, who came to apologize to him. Kotaro later arrived as well, originally intending to apologize too, but seeing what Tenko has done, he attacked him in panic, while demanding him to stop. Unfortunately, this made Tenko finally snap and intentionally kill his father, while destroying his family home.
Under All For One's mentorship, Tenko was reborn as "Tomura Shigaraki".
With his family gone, Tenko started aimlessly roaming the streets, hoping to get some help, but the bystanders, disturbed by his current appearance, would always tell him a hero shall come, but none did, all while the trauma from that night left him with vague memories about his past. Eventually, All For One came by and took him under his wing, while also presenting Tenko with the hands of his relatives, the only things left after they were killed. From this moment on, All For One started to influence on Tenko's feelings of sadness, anger and hatred, telling him to direct this feelings to those who wronged him and not to suppress his urges anymore. With this, Tenko proceeded to murder two punks who were bothering him, before adding their hands to his relatives', including the one from his paternal grandmother, all of which he started to wear on himself to never forget his desire to destroy. From now on, Tenko Shimura would forever be known as Tomura Shigaraki, with "Tomura" meaning "to mourn", to symbolize his desire to make the society feel the same pain he felt as child, and Shigaraki being All For One's surname.
U.A. Beginnings Saga[]
Unforseen Simulation Joint Arc[]
Shigaraki and Kurogiri begin their invasion of U.S.J. facility.
After years of studying under All For One, Tomura was eventually assigned to eliminate All Might when All For One got a word that the Symbol of Peace started teaching at U.A. High School. After secretly slipping in through the media reporters, Tomura destroyed the gate and allowed the crowd to slip in, creating a distraction for All For One's secret mole in U.A., the first year hero student Yuga Aoyama, to steal the itinerary and learn when and where All Might would be isolated. Not long after this, Tomura and his guardian Kurogiri proceed to attack the school's Unforseen Simulation Joint facility after learning All Might would be here, while bringing along various low-tier villains and a Nomu designed specifically to combat All Might.
However, since All Might was nowhere to be seen, Shigaraki decided to instead attack Class 1-A, who were supposed to have a lesson right now, in hopes of drawing All Might's attention. While Kurogiri scattered the students across the facility with his portals and defeat hero teacher Thirteen, Tomura proceed to Class 1-A's homeroom teacher Eraser Head, impressed that the latter can hold his henchmen off and called him cool. However, he then had the Nomu defeat the hero, before Kurogiri returned to inform him about one the students managing to escape. Realizing the reinforcements will arrive at any moment, Shigaraki decided to attack Izuku Midoriya, Tsuyu Asui, and Minoru Mineta, who were watching the battle from afar, but they and Eraser were saved by the timely arrival of All Might.
Thrilled that All Might did appear after all, Shigaraki sicced Nomu against him, before having Kurogiri nearly cut All Might in half when Nomu restrained him. Fortunately, Katsuki Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki helped All Might break free, before the hero went beyond his limits and sent the Nomu flying. Despite being stunned, Shigaraki realized that All Might had reached his limits, with Midoriya desperately trying to stop him. However, it's at this moment the rest of U.A.'s school faculty arrived and proceeded to defeat the villain forces, forcing Shigaraki and Kurogiri to retreat after the former was wounded from a gunshot. Once they returned to their base, Tomura complained to All For One about the attack's complete failure, including the loss of Nomu and the rest of their forces, but his master remained confident, telling Shigaraki to be patient as this is just the beginning.
Hero Killer Arc[]
Tomura is criticized by Stain for lacking a motivation.
While Shigaraki was recovering from his wounds, All For One tasked Kurogiri with recruiting Hero Killer: Stain into the League of Villain, as the vigilante is starting to become popular and they in turn need to replenish their ranks. After Kurogiri warped Stain to the bar, Shigaraki offered the Hero Killer the membership in the League, claiming they're very much alike in how they destroy things they don't like, but Stain proceeded to attack and wound Tomura and Kurogiri, insulted by the former's declaration they're similar, because, in his opinion, Stain has a conviction that makes him commit crimes for a reason, unlike Tomura, who's driven by pure impulses.
Despite this, Stain chose to spare him after deeming that Shigaraki has sprouts of conviction growing deep inside him, before having the pair return him to the Hosu City, so he can continue his purge of "fake" heroes. Realizing they're not in the same boat as he previously assumed, Tomura then had Kurogiri warp three Nomus into the city to have them kill Stain, but the Nomus and Stain were defeated by heroes, with Tomura furiously proceeding to take his leave.
Final Exams Arc[]
The "interview" goes wrong.
A couple of days after Stain's defeat, Tomura learned that he and Kurogiri were spotted at the Hosu when they were taking their leave, which made everyone assume Stain was a member of the League. However, Shigaraki wasn't happy in the slightest, because all the attention goes to Stain and his ideology of "fake" heroes needing to be purged, while he was largerly obscured. Later, the League's broker Giran introduced Shigaraki to two villains inspired by Stain, Himiko Toga and Dabi. While both wanted to join the League, Tomura responded with trying to kill them on spot for coming here only because of the Hero Killer, but was stopped and reprimanded by Kurogiri, who told his ward to act rationally and use the false rumors of Stain being with them to gather new members, but Shigaraki proceeded to storm out.
While walking in the public mall as a civilian, Tomura notices Izuku and proceeds to take the boy hostage, threatening to kill him and then everyone in the mall if he tries to alert anyone about him. With Midoriya agreeing to talk, Shigaraki tells him how he hates the society and Stain, and how he doesn't understain why the Hero Killer is more popular than him, asking the hero what's the difference between them. When Izuku replied that he could at least understand what the Hero Killer was aiming for, as he never gave up on his dream, Tomura realized why hates them all - it's because of All Might, whose presence gave everyone false sense of security. With this, Tomura realized his conviction to destroy All Might and show how fragile the world is without him.
Stain's ideals serve as a stepping stone for Tomura's newfound conviction.
Just then, Ochaco Uraraka arrived to check on Izuku, making Tomura take his leave. Before he could leave, Midoriya asked Shigaraki about All For One's goal. Shigaraki replied that he has no idea what the game his master is playing, before warning him the next time they'll meet, he won't be so merciful. As Shigaraki left the mall, he returned to hideout, with a newfound creed to destroy All Might to plunge the society into state of chaos.
Forest Training Camp Arc[]
In following days, Tomura used Stain's ideology to recruit other aspiring villains, leading to the assembly of Vanguard Action Squad, which included Dabi and Toga. With Aoyama reporting to All For One the location of the forest camp, where Classes 1-A and 1-B would be training during their summer break, Shigaraki sent the Squad to the camp to kidnap Bakugo in hopes of recruiting the boy into the League after taking a notice in Bakugo's anti-heroic attitude and negative reception he ammased across the general populace and media. However, Shigaraki knew that even if they fail at the mission, the attack alone will be more than enough to make public criticize U.A. for letting two villain attack happen. But he also told Kurogiri he doesn't see the Squad as expendable either, suprisingly having genuine faith in them. In the aftermath, the Squad was successful in abducting Katsuki, despite losing three of their members during the invasion.
Hideout Raid Arc[]
Tomura trying to recruit Bakugo into the League of Villains.
With Bakugo restrained, Tomura began telling the boy his views on the society, which, in his opinion, forces people like him and the League to live in the conditions they don't like, claiming he's much like them in how he desires only what he wants and never gives a chance about the others, so he offered him a place in the "winning" side. However, the moment Katsuki's restrains were removed, he immediately attacked Shigaraki, rebuffing anything he said about him and declaring the only way he's going to be the best is by achieving the fame like All Might. Disappointed, Tomura asked All For One for his help in making Bakugo change his mind, but before the League could restrain the student again, All Might and the other heroes broke in to rescue Katsuki, while subsequently immobilizing Kurogiri to prevent the League from escape. The sight of All Might's appearance made Tomura recall his past, leading to him yelling in fury at All Might.
Shigaraki reunites with All For One.
However, All For One then proceeded to make his presence known to the heroes, effortlessly wiping the floor with a second team at the nearby hangar, before warping the League and Bakugo to his location. Shigaraki's reunion with All For One was short-lived, as All Might arrrived not long after and began battling his archenemy. With this, All For One forcibly activated Kurogiri's portal and ordered Shigaraki to retreat with his underlings and Bakugo, but Katsuki's classmates helped him get out of the danger zone. All For One then resorted to forcibly sending the League through the portal to safety, while he was ultimately defeated by All Might and got incarcerated in Tartarus jail, but this was what All For One wanted, knowing that with him gone, Shigaraki would start his path to become the world's new villain leader.
Rise of Villains Saga[]
Shie Hassaikai Arc[]
Shigaraki and the League meets Overhaul.
With All For One's imprisonment, the League was subsequently cut-off from access to his resources, forcing them to operate on their own, while looking for potential recruits. Eventually, Twice encountered the young head of the Shie Hassakai yakuza organization, Kai Chisaki/Overhaul, and brought him to an old hangar to meet with the League. Due to being familiar with Chisaki through to All For One, Tomura wondered if the yakuza boss wanted to join them, but the latter denied this statement, instead pointing out Tomura's flaw in lacking a plan to realize his goals, which already got heavy hitters in the League captured. Chisaki revealed that unlike Shigaraki, he has a actual plan that will gurantee the downfall of heroes, but which requires excessive funding, so he came here to have the League join him to obtain the necessary funds using their name. The League were left furious with him, leading to a fight where Chisaki killed Magne in self-defence and destroyed Mr. Compress' arm for touching him.
Eventually, Chisaki opted to stop the fight and took the leave with his underlings that secretly followed him, but not without giving Tomura his business card, still willing to give him time to reconsider his offer. While Twice and Toga insisted on continuing the fight to avenge their comrades, Shigaraki allowed the Hassaikai to leave, but assured that the yakuza will pay for what they've done. Eventually, Shigaraki phoned in Overhaul days later, having seemingly changed his mind about the offer after discovering the Hassaikai has found means of depowering Quirk users when he noticed a bullet Compress was shot with during the meeting that made him temporarily lose his Quirk. Shigaraki then met with Overhaul at his base, where he agreed to cooperate with the Hassaikai for as long as the League is treated as equals and are filled in on Chisaki's plan, eventually learning of his intention to distribute the Quirk Destroying and Restoring drugs to profit from it, though Tomura was kept in dark about the source of these drugs.
Shigaraki stands in triumph over Chisaki.
Upon returning to their temporary hideout, Tomura informed the League about their new partnership with the Hassaikai, including how he traded Toga and Twice to act their new members. The pair was understandable furious with their boss, asking why they need to work with the very people who killed one of their comrades and mutilated another, but Shigaraki assured them he did this to ensure they League won't fall into obscurity. This made Himiko and Twice realize Shigaraki's true intention was to have them sabotage Chisaki from the inside when the right time comes. Ultimately, the pair would secretly contribute to Overhaul's arrest during the pro-heroes' raid on his base. Shigaraki would then attack the convoy transporting Chisaki, whereupon he and Compress proceeded to destroy the yakuza boss' hands in revenge, rendering him functionally Quirkless, while making away with the completed batches of both drugs. However, Tomura discovered upon his return that Kurogiri got captured by the police when he was in a middle of retrieving a "secret weapon" All For One left for them in case of emergency
Meta Liberation Army Arc[]
The League of Villains meet the Creation Rejection Clan.
Prior to the events of the Hero Billboard Chart JP, Tomura and the rest of his league continued searching for more recruits, while Tomura personally has been trying to get in contact with All For One's doctor. Spinner, frustrated with the current state of league, demands what direction is Tomura exactly heading towards. Before he could respond, the two are interrupted by the arrival of the Gigantomachia, who has been looking for the league as well.
To see if he truly is a worthy successor, Gigantomachia engages him and the other villains in a battle, only to find himself beating them with ease, causing him to break down in tears. Eventually, the doctor speaks through the radio that Gigantomachia's been carrying around, subduing him with the voice of All For One and transporting the league to his hideout. The doctor introduces himself with the alias Daruma Ujiko and reveals that he's been producing a stronger variation of the Nomus known as High-End. Ujiko calls out Tomura for being a piece of trash that's accomplished nothing and asks what exactly does he plan to do as All For One's successor.
Tomura explaining his endgame goal.
Tomura explains to him that he's felt nothing but anger and loneliness ever since he was a child and ultimately wishes to destroy the very things that he despises. He believes that with Ujiko's talents, he will be able to accomplish great things for the league. Ujiko laughs at how much of a pipe dream Tomura's goal is, but ultimately accepts his offer, believing that villains are the ones who make pipe dreams into a reality. Ujiko then sends the league back to Gigantomachia, in which Tomura reintroduces himself as the "future king".
A month has passed and Tomura continues to work on earning Gigantomachia's trust in him. As Gigantomachia would continuously attack him and the others, Tomura did not get any sleep. That did not appear to bother him, however, and instead developed him into more of a thrill seeker. He eventually gets in contact with Rikiya Yotsubashi, who challenges him to either face him in battle or to fall in the hands of the heroes.
Tomura, along with the rest of his companions, arrived in Deika City, where they are confronted by Curious and Koku Hanabata. The two executives signal their army to attack the league, resulting in a battle between the villains. Tomura focuses on taking down them individually, as well as the other league. During the chaos, Tomura recalls a childhood memory of him and his sister, Hana, who showed him a picture of his grandmother and told him about how she was a hero. Despite his exhausted conflict with Gigantomachia, Tomura was able to take out a large group of the Meta Liberation Army by spreading his Quirk around them.
Tomura unleashes his true potential.
Meanwhile, Twice confronts Rikiya in the watchtower, where he's keeping Giran held captive. Twice then proceeds to create clones of other members of the league, including Tomura. The clones then attempt to attack Rikiya but are quickly defeated when he utilizes his Quirk. The real Tomura, however, manages to bring the whole building down, leaving him confronted with Rikiya alone. Tomura then attempts to disintegrate him by touching the ground, but Rikiya manages to avoid his attack. Rikiya then manages to land a hit on him, causing Tomura to lose two of his fingers on his left hand.
When Rikiya states how meaningless and hollow his ambitions truly are, Tomura frees himself from his grasp by decaying his finger and proceeds to go berserk, as the hands of his family that adorned his upper body are destroyed, causing him to recall various aspects of his past that constantly develops him into a more dangerous being. From here on, Tomura decides to let go of his past sorrows and unleash the true evil within him as he crushes the hand of his father.
With his newfound strength, Tomura proceeds to come into clash with Rikiya once more, destroying the city around them in the process. With the sudden turn of events, Rikiya decides to unleash one of his devices from the Detnerat Company to defeat Tomura once and for all; Cresto.
Despite Rikiya's best efforts, Tomura laughed manically and manages to overwhelm his opponent by proceeding to destroy the city around him with his sheer power, causing Rikiya to lose his armor and eventually come in contact with the decay when reaching the ground. With nothing left to continue on the battle, Rikiya is left laying on the ground, as Tomura watches over him, reminding him how he started this conflict. Trumpet, Spinner, and Gigantomachia eventually arrive to the scene, along with the Meta Liberation Army, who attempt to help Rikiya, but are scared when Tomura smiles at them. Trumpet was shocked his quirk was overwritten by fear while Rikiya calls off the army. Instead, Rikiya decides to surrender all of his resources and submit to Tomura's command, much to Tomura's amusement. Gigantomachia also acknowledges Tomura as All For One's Successor after seeing his great power in action.
In the aftermath, Tomura is announced to be the Grand Commander of the newly formed Paranormal Liberation Army. He makes the members of the League of Villains and high ranking members of the Metal Liberation Army into sub commanders. It is also revealed that one of the hands survived the destruction and Tomura now wears that hand over his face, though it holds no significant meaning. After the initial announcement, Tomura collapses and is contacted by Doctor Ujiko, who offers him the power he promised and requests that Tomura make a special delivery for him.
Endeavor Agency Arc[]
Tomura is next seen with Doctor Ujiko as he prepares to undergo surgery. Before beginning, Ujiko asks Tomura why he seeks more power, as he's become destruction incarnate after awakening his Quirk. Tomura explains that his newfound power isn't unbeatable, and that he isn't going to underestimate the heroes again and intends to utterly destroy them the next time they meet. Ujiko is amused by Tomura's answer and informs him that the operation he's about to go through will grant him power greater than All For One himself and even allow him to obtain the very Quirk he created: One For All. However, the process will take four months to complete and he'll experience endless pain the entire time, something Tomura has no issue with.
Paranormal Liberation War Arc[]
Tomura's gruesome procedure.
A month after Tomura Shigaraki started the operation to become more powerful, he was seen still going through it, with it being extremely agonizing and gruesome as Dr. Ujiko had assured him. The Doctor was impressed that the process seemed to be going better than he originally planned as he excitedly cheered Tomura on from the sidelines as numerous tubes and wires were shown sticking out of his spine and head, while a bigger mechanical tube operated on his midsection which had been completely torn open, all accompanied by copious amounts of blood. Despite the painful process, Tomura was fully conscious throughout it, laughing madly.
Less than a month before his surgery was completed, Tomura had been relocated to a large tube underneath Jaku Hospital, with Ujiko overseeing the completion of the process while using a clone of him created by Twice to handle everything else. When the Heroes launched a raid on the hospital, Ujiko ordered Johnny to warp him and Tomura out, only for the Nomu to be crushed by Mirko barging into the lab. While the High-Ends attack Mirko, Doctor Garaki flees the battle, hoping they will buy enough time for Tomura's operation to finish, which is at 71% completion.
However, Tomura's operation immediately gets interrupted once the other Heroes in Jaku Hospital back up Mirko during her struggle against the incomplete High-Ends. Kyudai desperately begs Mirko to stop her assault but the Rabbit Hero ignores him as Tomura's operation reaches 74% completion, telling the other Heroes that they cannot allow him to awaken.
Soon, Present Mic manages to destroy most of Kyudai's equipment with his voice, including Tomura's operation tank. This releases Tomura's unconscious body at a 75% completion state. X-Less then restrains Tomura's body and notes that he isn't breathing and his heart has stopped. Kyudai reveals he put Tomura into a state of suspension to lighten the burden of stabilization and that the container was meant to accelerate the stabilization process, support his system, and resuscitate him when necessary, all the while crying about how he lived for Shigaraki's sake.
Tomura hallucinates a warped version of his past.
While unconscious, Tomura experiences a facsimile of his warped past. Tomura explores the illusion and encounters many visions of his deceased family members that he accidentally murdered. He also encounters his father Kotaro, the man who was responsible for his unintentional Quirk awakening. Tomura then destroys the fake illusion of Kotaro, only to see a shadowy abyss swallowing everything up. Tomura walks forward and realizes that the man standing in front of him is an illusion of All For One.
Tomura walks forward but visions of his family, including Nana Shimura, try to stop him from falling into darkness. Unfortunately, Tomura coldly destroys the remaining bits of his humanity away and accepts All For One's empty embrace. Once the vision ends, Tomura snaps out of his subconscious dream and finally awakens from his deep slumber. Tomura slowly rises from the ground and mutters that he feels cold before unleashing his Decay Quirk and disintegrating the entire hospital and a large portion of the city; killing many heroes and civilians in the process. He then observes the destruction left in the wake of his attack, noting that Ujiko's operation was a success and he now has full control over his Decay. Tomura picks up Ujiko's phone and contacts Gigantomachia, ordering him to gather all the members of the Paranormal Liberation Front and come to his location as he's finally going to destroy everything in their path. However, Endeavor suddenly appears to fight Tomura.
Suddenly, Tomura has an epiphany and believes that his father was right all along: quoting how he said that heroes only hurt their families to help others. He tells them about his philosophy that heroes ignore those who they believe they can't save (as Tenko had been in the past), and only protect the "common trash" who are overly reliant on heroes to protect them. Filled with hatred and disgust towards a system which has always rejected him, Tomura says this is why he became a villain and says the system is what makes heroes and villains. Suddenly, Endeavor fires a blast of fire, thanking him as his monologue allowed his flames to cool down, but he is completely unfazed by the flames.
Tomura mortally wounds Gran Torino.
Gran Torino tries to tackle Tomura, but the latter decays his leg and slams him into the ground. Gran Torino recognizes the villain's familiar face as a Shimura, thinking about how Nana Shimura gave up Kotaro when he was a child so All For One wouldn't exploit their connection, which in turn made Kotaro resent heroes and influence Tomura into being who he is today, a reflection of his father. Gran Torino remembers Nana crying as he comforted her, questioning the choices that they made before Tomura, the result of the Shimuras' mistakes, impales Gran Torino in the chest.
During the battle, All For One starts to possess Tomura's body, causing him to utter strange statements such as referring to Izuku as "little brother", confusing Tomura. The controlled Tomura grabbed Izuku, causing the hero to see into his mind as he fought with All For One over control of his own body. Tomura resentfully told All For One that he wanted to start his own path of villainy to be greater than his and he would not be his pawn, but All For One told him that he meant a lot to him and that he would be "the next me". Suddenly, the vestiges of Nana Shimura steps in to fight All For One, who tells her that Tomura's hatred towards her is causing the will of One For All to crumble away, but she and the other users resist their will, making Izuku and Tomura separate from each other.
Final Act Saga[]
Dark Hero Arc[]
After the battle, All For One sent Tomura's possessed body along with his army of Nomus to Tartarus, noticing that the water pressure deep underground where his own body is located will kill him, so he formed a prison break with numerous dangerous prisoners escaping. All For One regained his real body and met up with Tomura, declaring that he would be the greatest demon lord of all. But even then, All For One still refused to give Tomura back control, possessing him once more to meet up with the League of Villains and telling them to guard his body to be used later.
Star and Stripe Arc[]
Eventually Tomura and All For One's vestiges started to merge, creating a duel personality within Tomura, who had traits of both, but was also confused about who he was. Tomura was sent to battle America's number one hero Star and Stripes as well as take her quirk New Order. Taking a flying Nomu, Tomura met Star in the air as she was heading to Japan to assist the heroes against All For One's forces.
As the battle began, Star temporarily stopped Tomura by using her quirk to temporarily make it so he couldn't breath. Star then launched a laser at Tomura who deflected back. Star leaped on top of Tomura and punched him before pinning him down. Star then revealed that she had made it so that when she touched Tomura, his heart would stop upon saying his name.
Tomura was shocked, but because he wasn't sure who he was, it didn't work. Tomura struggled with the All For One vestige who was impressed at Tomura's resolve to resist him. He was also pleased that Tomura hated him knowing his rage would allow to two of them to merge into a new identity. As Tomura struggled, his hair grew longer and he blasted Star away.
Tomura finally understood the rules of Star's quirk, but wondered if it would work on an animal like Mon. Feeling cornered Star, with the help of the pilots assisting her, performed her ultimate, creating a giant ethereal version of herself and using their lasers to blast Tomura into a concentrated blast.
The Nomu. perished, and Tomura stole the quirk before that happened. Tomura was badly wounded but his will allowed him to endure long enough to finally touch Star and steal New Order, simultaneously decaying her at the same time. All For One appeared victorious, but Star had initiated one final order, and that allowed her quirk to complete ravage Tomura's body from the inside out and slowly destroy the quirks.
As Star's body decayed, the pilots all launched attacks at Tomura, who managed to survive by transferring New Order and escape with the winged nomu's quirk. As Star's vestige fades away, she warned All For that one day a hero would defeat him. As All For One laughed off Star's warning, deep within Tomura, Star's words of a hero resonated with a vestige of Tenko, who immediately thought of Izuku.
U.A Traitor Arc[]
Upon returning to the hideout, Tomura writhed in agony and rage as All For One attempted to comfort "his other self". Tomura screamed that he won't know peace as long as a single person remembers All Might's name. Tomura continued to struggle as his body recovered, and his damaged hand fully healed in the process.
Final War Arc[]
Tomura was summoned alongside the other villains by All For zone to battle Izuku and Aoyama, but soon other heroes joined the battle using Kurogiri s warp gate. Upon arriving, Tomura went to touch the ground, but stopped himself. He then called out to Dabi, who ignored his leader by rushing past him to battle his father Endeavour, but he was stopped by his brother Shoto.
Suddenly, metal cages rose up and encased the villains, separating All For One and Tomura. The heroes then began pushing the cages into the warp gate and join the villians in various locations. Tomura was taken to U.A., which was floating in the sky, and had an energy barrier.
As Tomura assessed the situation and his opponents composed of Katsuki, Beast Jeanist, Mirko, and Edgeshot; he observed he was by himself, but said he'd be fine and asked the other "him" to not get in his way. Tomura touched down and launched a wave of decay, but was then launched by the ground into the electric barrie, which immobilized him briefly.
As Tomura went to use a shock blast, he realized he wasn't working and looked over to see Aizawa, Monoma, and Manuel. Monoma was copying Aizawa's quirk while Manuel provided moisture for his eyes. Feeling back into a corner, Tomura's hands mutated into a blob of hands and mouths, forcing the heroes back and on the defensive as the mountain of hands swarmed them. Tomura explained that his body was adapting to the quirks inside him, changing and mutating him. He declared that this was the quirk singularity theory, and said under his rule, everyone would be exploited equally.
Annoyed with Tomura, Katsuki used new gear to blast through to Tomura's body, but Tomura easilt defeated Bakugo and broke his arm. Tomura then told Katsuki that he no longer had any interest in him aside from how he and Izuku are close. Tomura was glad decay wasn't working so he could leave a body behind him. Bakugo was rescued, and new people arrived to challenge Tomura: U.A.'s Big Three led by Mirio.
