Anthony "Tony" James was an abusive wife and father of Lindsay and Emily James before he was killed by the former daughter. Aside from his bloodied hand shown in the crime photo, he remains as an unseen posthumous secondary antagonist of Series 5A.

Role in the series

On the first day of term, Tony arranged a shopping trip for Lindsay and Marion, leaving Emily alone with him. He planned to sexually abuse her. Lindsay confronted her father and he shouted at her to shut up for defending her. He eventually pushed Lindsay onto the floor. Lindsay went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, and when he went in he was stabbed. He died later on in the day, after major organ failure and blood loss.

At his trial, Marion desperately tried to cover up for Lindsay, however Lindsay ended up telling the truth and was charged.

Trivia

Tony was never seen on-screen, only his voice was heard shouting at Marion at the start of S5E1 as Lindsay cowered on the stairs. The actor who provided the voice of Tony was not credited.
