“ | We've been having some issues with a group of thieves known as the Toppat Clan. We know they're guilty, we just can't pin them to any crimes. You'll be going to the airship to bring them down. | „ |
~ Captain Galeforce to Henry Stickmin. |
The Toppat Clan are the main antagonists of the Henry Stickmin video-game series.
They operate as a formidable criminal syndicate with substantial wealth, boasting possession of a vast airship and an orbital station. Their primary way of gaining new members involves identifying potential criminals and extending invitations to join their ranks, albeit with certain exceptions. However, it is crucial to note that their activities go beyond conventional criminality, as the group also operates as a ruthless terrorist organization.
Although the members tend to be goofy and moronic, the Clan itself is dangerous and if their orbital station launches, they'll become unstoppable.
Appearance[]
All members are stick figures with top hats. Some of them have appearances related to various characters in pop culture, as seen in Completing the Mission's Diversion Dance. Some notable ones include Hat Girl, Mario and Luigi (possibly SMB Super Show version), Cool Peter Parker from Spider-Man 3, Orange Justice Kid, Narancia, Mista, and Fugo, along with a few others. Also in Completing the Mission, the Right Hand Man gains some cybernetics, along with Henry Stickmin in one of the endings.
Known leaders[]
- Dusty - Had one of the longest runs. Sometimes people thought he was dead because he was so slow. He was a good leader, and they kept his top hat.
- Cloudface - Took over leadership after Dusty's death. Lost his position because people couldn't understand him because of the beard.
- Randy Radman - Became the Toppat Leader after Cloudface lost his position. Ran the Toppat Clan through the Party Era. Everything was a blast until they went bankrupt.
- Reynaldo the Brute - Followed Randy being Overthrown. One of the fiercest leaders, he died during combat.
- Jaques Kensington - He was a bit eccentric. Always walked around with a gold deagle. It's unknown if he was the leader before Dusty or somewhere after Reynalo.
- T.R.N.K. - A failed attempt at resurrecting a long dead leader. It didn't took long for him to betray the clan after that. From the single photo seen of him, he was quite an abomination.
- Billy G. - Became the leader after T.R.N.K. betrayed the Toppats. Despite numerous claims that "he's not my lover", he was quite romantic.
- Sir Wilford IV - He defeated Billy G. to be the leader himself. Hated incompetence. Remembered as one of the best leaders.
- Terrence Suave - Came straight after Wilford IV. One of the worst leaders, launched pointless raids for the thrill. Overthrown by Reginald Copperbottom.
- Reginald Copperbottom - After Overthrown Terrence to be the leader after having enough of his reckless actions. Cowardly, yet pretty big on loyalty and respect. If Henry becomes the leader, he becomes his right-hand man (Toppat 4 Life), a top operator (Toppat King), or will die in an attempt to regain leadership (Toppat Civil Warfare and Revenged).
- Henry Stickmin (optional) - Can become the leader in the Rapidly Promoted Executive ending after Reginald surrenders the airship to him. Depending on the player's actions in Fleeing the Complex, he can either remain the Toppat Leader (Toppat 4 Life and Toppat King) split the clan into a civil war and lead a much smaller faction (Toppat Civil Warfare) or die in an attempt to get revenge on Reginald (Revenged).
- The Right Hand Man (optional) - The second-in-command. He's extremely strong, brave and loyal. In some paths of Completing the Mission, he's a cyborg because of his fight with Henry. He becomes the Toppat Leader in routes following Relentless Bounty Hunter, where Reginald is arrested.
- Sven Svensson (optional) - Took over leadership after Reginald and the Right Hand Man were arrested during the Government Supported Private Investigator ending. Unwilling to be the leader, but decided to step up for the Toppat Clan's sake. If the previous Right Hand Man is the leader, he becomes the RHM's right hand man.
- Ellie Rose (optional) - Henry's Right Hand Lady in the Toppat King ending. In the Toppat Civil Warfare ending, she can become the leader and declare war against Henry's much smaller faction, creating the Toppat Civil War.
Besides these few, there are also countless more that we don't know about.
Biography[]
Infiltrating the Airship[]
The Toppat Clan already has a big name, doing a lot of crimes but none of them can stick. The American Government hires Henry Stickmin to do the job and bring down the Toppats.
Endings[]
Lighting Quick Larcenist[]
This isn't actually an ending, as it ends with a failure. However, it's worth to note.
No members are actually seen, but Henry quickly steals a safe from the Toppats. It turns out it contains only a teddy bear. Henry is killed for messing up the job.
Relentless Bounty Hunter[]
Henry enters a giant plastic ball and is shot straight into the window of the airship. Reginald escapes, while the Right Hand Man tries to kill Henry.
The ending is mainly Henry running after Reginald, catching up to him no matter what the former does.
Eventually, the Right Hand Man blocks Henry's way, giving Reginald more time to escape. Henry ultimately defeats the Right Hand Man and continues his chase. Henry catches up to Reginald, who tries to bribe Henry by surrendering the airship to him.
Henry and Reginald enter a tank, drive it out the back, and fall to the ground, surprisingly unharmed. Henry hands Copperbottom over to the feds. Reginald is arrested.
Rapidly Promoted Executive[]
There's also an option to team up with Copperbottom and throw out dummies out of the airship, tricking the feds. Henry becomes the new leader of the Toppats. However, Reginald wants to regain his position.
Government Supported Private Investigator[]
Henry, with the help of Charles, breaks into the airship almost unnoticed. He hears a meeting, while later, Charles melts the bones of a clan member, Wilhelm Krieghaus. After that, Henry knocks out another Toppat, Handsome Harold, he gets the files and at the very end, is caught. He kills two guards and encounters the Right Hand Man. The two shoot at one another at the same time, and Henry is knocked out of the airship to Charles' helicopter due to his Force Gun. The Right Hand Man realises this can be a problem.
Later, Henry watches the TV and sees that the Toppat Clan was arrested, including Reginald and the Right Hand Man.
Pure Blooded Thief[]
Henry uses a grappling gun to go to the side of the ship. He enters a vent and notices a giant ruby the Toppats stole. He abandons his mission and tries to steal the ruby. He does it, but the feds realise Henry has gone rogue and send in a bunch of helicopters to destroy the airship. This eventually turns into an all-out war, with Toppats killing feds and vice-versa.
At one point during the war, the Right Hand Man notices Henry with the ruby. Although he tries to get it back, Reginald tells him to forget about it and that the Toppats need to retreat, or the clan will become history.
As for Henry himself, he escapes without any punishment, as the feds let him go because they got what they came for, the destruction of the Toppat Clan.
