Toranosuke Sengoku is a major antagonist in Yakuza 2 and its remake, Yakuza Kiwami 2. He is quick to throw around his wealth and has no regard for anyone other than himself.
He was voiced by Tadahisa Saizen.
Appearance[]
Sengoku is a short, fat man, who dresses flashy and wears sunglasses. His hair is slicked back. He carries a fan with his family crest on it.
Personality[]
Sengoku is a generally unpleasant individual. He constantly and consistently brags about his wealth and shoves it into other people's faces. He is wholly remorseless and cunning, as he kidnaps Haruka to lead Kiryu into a trap.
Biography[]
Sengoku is first seen at the Omi Alliance HQ meeting with Kazuma Kiryu, Daigo Dojima, Jin Goda, and Ryo Takashima. He spends the meeting insulting the other members of the meeting and the recently deceased Yukio Terada until it is interrupted by Ryuji Goda.
Later on, in the haze of chaos begun by the war between the Tojo, Omi, and the Jingweon Mafia, Sengoku conspires with Nishikiyama family patriarch Koji Shindo and uses the chaos as a way to send his men to attack Kamurocho, but is quickly and brutally thwarted by Goro Majima. While Kiryu battles Shindo, Sengoku uses the time to kidnap Kiryu's adopted daughter, Haruka Sawamura, as well as sending a hitman to stab Kiryu and leave a note in his pocket in case he survives. Kiryu manages to receive treatment for his injury, and learns from the note that Haruka has been taken to Sengoku's base of operations in Osaka Castle, which he had extensively modified and clad in pure gold, with the exterior of the building being a mere shell to hide the golden castle inside.
Kiryu arrives at the castle and fights his way through the keep. When Kiryu reaches the top, Sengoku sends his two pet tigers to kill Kiryu, but both are defeated instead. Terrified, Sengoku flees to his office, where Kiryu immediately heads. Before Kiryu can beat Sengoku senseless, Ryuji arrives and, disgusted that Sengoku would stoop as low as kidnapping children to get an advantage over others, slices his chest with a katana. With his last remaining breaths, Sengoku insults Ryuji, which prompts him to stab him and throw him from the top of Osaka Castle, where he plummets to his death screaming in terror as his favorite fan blows away in the night wind.
