~ Torch Man |
Torch Man is a minor antagonist in Mega Man 11. He was a fire safety tutor for campsites before being kidnapped by Dr. Wily to become one of his Robot Masters.
He was voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi (who has also voiced Heracles in Record of Ragnarok) in Japanese and Jon Bailey in English.
Personality[]
Torch Man is rather disciplined and cool-headed, despite his igneous power, but anyone who gets the edge over him will anger Torch Man, prompting him to activate his Power Gear.
He enjoys practicing martial arts in his spare time to keep his flames under control.
Appearance[]
Torch Man has a humanoid body with red coloration. He has torches on his shoulders which constantly emit flames. His skin is grey and his getup consists of a tan suit with red armor and boots.
Powers and Abilities[]
Torch Man can manipulate his flames to perform the Blazing Torch, which is his weapon. His main weakness is the Tundra Storm.
Biography[]
Torch Man makes his first appearance during the game's opening, after Dr. Wily bashes his way into Doctor Light's laboratory. He proceeds to kidnap the Robot Masters, though Mega Man, Roll, Auto, and Rush manage to evade capture. Mega Man then has the Double Gear System installed in his body to get back at Wily. Mega Man defeats Torch Man in the forest, then has Doctor Light rebuild him.
Battle[]
Torch Man is encountered in a forest. Like most of the Robot Masters in the game, he has multiple phases to his battle.
Phase 1[]
During his first phase, Torch Man just strikes with moves that resemble Street Fighter, i.e. kicking, punching, Hadokens. The Tundra Storm, on top of damaging him, can destroy his Hadoken projectiles.
Phase 2[]
Dropping Torch Man's health below half makes him activate his Power Gear. He bursts into flames and attacks with fiery wheels. He then reverts back to his first phase pattern following a fiery ground pound that launches a flame pillar upwards (usually from the middle of his room). Torch Man then slips back into his Power Gear sub-phase once every 30 to 50 seconds (assuming constant time flow)
