Tosh Mackintosh is a fictional character and supporting antagonist of the BBC British soap opera EastEnders. She only appeared as a major antagonist in 2014.

In her storyline, Tosh clashed with established character Shirley Carter over her relationship with the latter's sister Tina Carter. It soon turns out that Tosh is abusive towards Tina on certain occasions to the point of beating her up or taking her fustrations out on Tina over their romance. This contines up until Tosh's departure in December 2014 when Tina ultimately breaks up with her.

The character is portrayed by Rebecca Scroggs.

Biography

Tosh Mackintosh first came to Albert Square in Walford, a fictional borough in East London, from February 2014. It becomes clear that Tosh is a firefighter who is also a lesbian due to her relationship with local resident Tina Carter.

At somepoint, Tosh is invited by Tina to join her family for dinner at The Queen Victoria public house. Thereupon Tina's sister, Shirley Carter, clashes with Tosh due to her disapproval towards their relationship - as it turns out that Tosh can be violent to the point of beating up Tina in the past. Tina confronts Shirley for her behaviour just as Tosh infuriates her further by befriending her sister-in-law Linda Carter. Later on, Shirley visits Tina at the fire station and warns her to stay away from Tina; however, she is left humiliated after Tosh soaks Shirley with a fire hose. In retritubiton, Shirley locks Tina in the upstairs longe of The Queen Vic to stop her from seeing Tosh - only for Tina to call Tosh about this and in turn Tosh rescues Tina with a fire ladder.

Soon enough, Tosh and Tina plan to spend time together as a couple. They prepare to go out on a date when Tina is called to help out Cindy Williams, a young resident who has drunk herself paralytic despite being pregnant. Tosh, unwilling to give up her time off, leaves Tina to deal with the situation alone. Complications begin to emerge in their relationship when Tosh grows jealous of Tina's friendship with neighbour Sonia Fowler, as well as befriending Shirley's friend Roxy Mitchell around the same occasion. Tosh later shouts at Tina for not spending enough time with her, but is forced to leave by Shirley when she intervenes. Tosh later talks to punter Aleks Shirovs in The Queen Vic and they decide to move together with his flatmate Jake Stone.

Not long afterwards, Tina moves in with Tosh at the flat. They relationship begins to improve until Tosh overhears a conversation between Sonia and her half-sister Bianca Jackson, wherein the pair are taking about Sonia's kiss with Tina a while ago. Tosh confronts Tina over her kiss with Tina and ends up lashing out, knocking Tina's head against the door frame. Tosh apologizes for her actions and Tina forgives her when they agree to start a family together. When Tosh finds out that Tina has been helping her aunt Babe Smith with drug dealing behind her back, she confronts her over this and declares she is unsure about trusting Tina again. But soon she forgives Tina and they later chose a sperm donor, though Tosh worries that their potential child will not know its father.

Eventually, Tosh becomes pregnant before she and Tina share the news to her family - with their patriarch Mick Carter giving a toast to Tina and Tosh for their potential future. However, Tosh later suffers a miscarriage while trying to keep residents safe from a house fire that former pub landlord Alfie Moon is responsible for due to his financial straits. Tosh correctly assumes that Alfie started the fire for insurance fraud and plans to report him to the authorities, but Mick persuades her not to do that. Tosh then informs Tina about the miscarriage, but insists on trying for another baby.

Trouble soon develops when Tosh colludes with Shirley's son Dean Wicks for him to be a doner for her and Tina's baby without Tina ever finding out, due to Dean's misgivings with the Carter family. On the day Shirley's ex-fiance Phil Mitchell gets married to his wife Sharon Watts, however, the secret is discovered by Tina and she confronts Tosh about it. Tina later forgives Tosh, but the pair are devastated when Tosh finds out that she is not pregnant. In that moment, Tosh punches Tina after accusing her for not being supportive enough. Tosh soon begins to physically abuse Tina once more and at one point becomes paranoid to assume that Tina is sleeping with Sonia behind her back. Tosh then confronts Tina over her friendship with Sonia and accuses her of betraying their relationship. Tina stands up to Tosh and slaps her for continuing to belittle her. In response, Tosh attacks Tina and beats her up.

The next day, Tina's family are horrified to learn the truth about her injuries and Tosh's abuse towards her. Tosh finds out that Tina is staying with her family and goes to confront her, but is attacked by Shirley and confronted by her family for mistreating Tina. Later on Tina approaches Tosh and breaks up with her, prompting Tosh to leave the square in disgrace.
