Tot Musica is the overarching antagonist of One Piece Film: Red. It is a mindless entity created by the previous user of the Uta Uta no Mi, wielding such power capable of singlehandedly destroying the world.
Tot Musica is responsible for all three destructions of the nation of Elegia, in ancient times by the original wielder of the Devil Fruit, 12 years ago on accident by Uta, and then during the climax of the film by Uta again, but this time intentionally summoned.
Overview[]
Upon its initial summoning in its First Movement form, Tot Musica materialized as an immense humanoid entity, devoid of a lower half. It boasted voluminous yellow locks of hair and a well-groomed beard. Its countenance was pallid and ghastly, featuring a lengthy nose and a maw brimming with sharp fangs, perpetually contorted into a twisted grin. One of its eyes was an abyssal void, while the other emitted a fiery red X. Its elongated arms bore an uncanny resemblance to the keys of a piano. Adorned with a grand top hat and enveloped in a somber cloak, the entity's neck was adorned with ethereal skulls that flickered with flames, resembling a haunting necklace.
The Second Movement of this entity, known as "Daini Gakushō," maintains several key characteristics from its First Movement counterpart. However, there are noticeable distinctions as well. In its Second Movement form, it appears larger in size and possesses vibrant green hair. Additionally, its fingers are adorned with sharp claws, its teeth are more pronounced and menacing, and it dons a hat reminiscent of a crocodile's features.
Once Uta had been completely assimilated into its being and tapped into her immense power, Tot Musica underwent a remarkable transformation, evolving into an even more ethereal incarnation known as the Third Movement. Its previously concealing cloak disappeared, revealing a lower body reminiscent of pudding, along with the emergence of an additional set of arms and majestic wings adorned with feathers. Its teeth became more menacingly sharp, its hair grew in volume, and its hat underwent a metamorphosis, taking on the appearance of a regal crown adorned with dazzling red gemstones and adorned with imposing golden crocodiles. With this new form, its once jovial expression morphed into a perpetual scowl.
Tot Musica, a creature devoid of any semblance of personality or intellect, exists solely to wreak havoc and destruction. Intriguingly, it has been observed that this entity actually displays a proactive nature, actively searching for individuals who possess the Uta Uta no Mi and cunningly manipulating them through its enchanting melodies, compelling them to summon its destructive power. Despite its apparent lack of sapience, it constantly wore a cruel sneer, which upon its defeat, changed into prominent frown.
Biography[]
Past[]
In the annals of history, there came a moment when the composition which held the power to invoke Tot Musica was transcribed and securely concealed within the depths of the ancient remnants nestled beneath the majestic realm of Elegia.
And so, the tale of Uta, the Red Hair Pirates, and the ill-fated encounter with the demon king became a cautionary tale, a reminder of the consequences that can arise from unlocking the secrets of ancient melodies. It served as a testament to the incredible power that music holds, both as a force for creation and destruction, a reminder that harmony and chaos can exist in the same symphony. In a curious twist of fate, the song's enchantment had awakened a dormant force, long forgotten in the annals of time. The summoning was complete, and the demon king, once sealed away, was unleashed upon the unsuspecting island. With an insatiable hunger for chaos and destruction, the malevolent entity embarked on a relentless rampage, leaving devastation in its wake. The tranquility of Elegia was shattered as the demon's wrath spared no one, indiscriminately snuffing out the lives of countless innocent souls. Thus, through an amalgamation of bravery, sacrifice, and the power of music, the demon king's reign of terror was halted, albeit temporarily. The island of Elegia, ravaged and scarred, began the arduous process of rebuilding and healing. The Red Hair Pirates, hailed as heroes, departed the island, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and hope. Twelve years ago, the sheet music for Tot Musica's melodic composition was finally unveiled from its tightly sealed confines, coinciding with the moment when Uta, possessing an otherworldly vocal prowess, embarked on a soul-stirring rendition during the highly anticipated visit of the infamous Red Hair Pirates to the magnificent island of Elegia. In a remarkable turn of events, as the enchanting notes reverberated through the air, an unforeseen consequence unfolded, as if a forbidden incantation had been whispered into existence. The ethereal melodies, like a siren's call, effortlessly floated their way into the secluded room where Uta's mellifluous voice echoed, shrouded in an enigmatic aura. Amidst the chaos, however, a glimmer of hope emerged. Shanks, the charismatic captain of the Red Hair Pirates, renowned for his unwavering courage and indomitable spirit, saw an opportunity to intervene. Rallying his crew, they valiantly fought against the malefic being, their determination serving as a bulwark against the relentless onslaught. The clash between the Red Hair Pirates and the demon king became a battle of survival, a desperate struggle for the very soul of the island. Meanwhile, Uta, unaware of the havoc she had inadvertently unleashed, continued to sing with an untainted innocence. Her songs, once a catalyst for destruction, now held the key to salvation. The ethereal melodies that had summoned the demon king had a profound effect on Uta herself, lulling her into a deep slumber. As she peacefully drifted into unconsciousness, the seal that had been broken when she sang was restored, binding the malevolent entity once again.
After Tot Musica mysteriously vanished, Gordon, who had a deep appreciation for music, made the decision to conceal the sheet music instead of discarding it completely, as he couldn't bring himself to part with something so dear to him. Eventually, Uta stumbled upon the hidden music sheets, just in time before her highly anticipated performance at the grand concert on Elegia.
Wano Country Saga[]
One Piece Film: Red[]
During Uta's concert on Elegia, Uta once again summoned Tot Musica in a desperate bid to safeguard her ideal world. The sheer power of this entity was truly awe-inspiring, but it faced a relentless onslaught from not only the Straw Hat Pirates, but also the Red Hair Pirates, the Heart Pirates, the Jellyfish Pirates, Bartolomeo, Charlotte Oven, Charlotte Brûlée, Charlotte Katakuri, Helmeppo, and Koby. With each faction launching coordinated attacks on different parts of Tot Musica's body, it gradually began to weaken under the relentless assault. Finally, Luffy and Shanks unleashed a final, decisive blow that ultimately led to its complete defeat.
However, the immense power of Tot Musica had already ensnared the souls of the inhabitants in the enchanting Uta World, leaving them trapped and unable to escape back to the physical realm. It was only when Uta, with her angelic voice, unleashed her melodic prowess and reversed the spell that their liberation became possible. As the ethereal tune resonated through the air, the spirits were set free from their invisible shackles, allowing them to finally find their way back to reality. Yet, the triumph was short-lived, as Gordon, cunning and opportunistic as ever, swiftly seized the precious sheet music, once again claiming ownership over Tot Musica's captivating composition.
Power and Abilities[]
Tot Musica possesses immense power, so much so that it was able to bring about the complete annihilation of Elegia, all thanks to Uta's summoning abilities. This extraordinary entity not only takes control of its user, but also materializes in both the Uta World, a realm formed by the Uta Uta no Mi user, and the physical reality we inhabit. Defeating Tot Musica is an arduous task, requiring coordinated and targeted assaults from both the Uta World and the real world. However, once the Uta Uta no Mi user succumbs to sleep, Tot Musica is sealed away once again, just like the Uta World itself; but if it reached its Second Movement, it can remain in existence, regardless of the summoner's state of consciousness.
Even when sealed, Tot Musica demonstrated its strong attraction towards the individuals possessing the Devil Fruit. This was evident when the sheet music, which contained the melody for its enchanting song, autonomously emerged from the ancient remnants beneath Elegia and specifically sought out Uta.
