The Toy Animatronics are the secondary antagonists of Universal Pictures' 2025 supernatural horror film Five Nights at Freddy's 2, the second installment of Five Nights at Freddy's film series based on the video game franchise of the same name.
They are a set of four animatronics who, similar to their video game counterparts, reside at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place and are controlled by the soul of Charlotte Emily and Michael Afton.
Portrayals[]
- Toy Freddy was portrayed by Kevin Foster, and voiced by Kellen Goff.
- Toy Bonnie was portrayed by Jade-Kindar Martin, and voiced by Matthew Patrick, popularly known as MatPat.
- Toy Chica was portrayed by Jess Weiss, and voiced by Megan Fox,
- Mangle was portrayed through puppetry as an animatronic by Russ Walko.
History[]
Beginnings[]
The animatronics were created by William Afton and Henry Emily before they opened Fazbear's flagship location. They stood on a stage covered with a curtain. Another animatronic, The Marionette, would rise from the stage's extension and conduct them in a performance.
When Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed after Charlotte Emily's death, it remained dormant for over 20 years, with the animatronics being deactivated and placed on a perimeter lock, keeping them trapped inside. They were covered in plastic sheets.
Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2025)[]
In 2002, the animatronics were revealed by Michael Afton to a paranormal team that investigated the restaurant. With Charlotte possessing Lisa, she commandeers Toy Foxy to mutilate Alex.
With Abby now having a FazTalker, Toy Chica (possessed by Charlotte) uses it and guides her to their site to reunite with her and help her repair her science project. But when Abby's teacher, Professor Berg breaks her science project, Toy Chica offers to pose as the project. With Vanessa captured, Toy Chica guides Abby into inputting a code that allows the animatronics to leave. The Toy animatronics explore the town, with Toy Chica murdering Mr. Berg. Meanwhile Toy Freddy and Toy Bonnie invade separate homes and capture families, intent on killing them.
Toy Chica, who has hidden the Marionette inside of herself, carries an exhausted Abby home to the Schmidt home at the end of the science fair. After letting Abby down, Toy Chica breaks open and the Marionette reveals itself as it possesses Abby.
Mike and Vanessa head to the house where Mike uses a music box given to him by Henry earlier to lull the Marionette to sleep, freeing Abby from its control. Shortly after, Michael and all of the reactivated Toy animatronics break into their living room, where Michael reveals he is Vanessa's brother and William Afton's son, determined to carry on William's legacy. He orders the Toy animatronics to kill the three, but the newer location's animatronics arrive and dismantle the Toys while Michael escapes.
Personality[]
The Toy Animatronics do not possess personalities of their own, due to not being possessed by the spirits of dead children, but while they were under the Marionette’s control, they became murderous, but mindless, killing machines, who will kill anyone who trespasses into the original location. They are also shown to have IQ but is limited due to their lack of sentience only because the Marionette controls their programming; like their game counterparts, The Toy Animatronics can be fooled by the Freddy Fazbear head.
