History[]
Modern Age[]
Winslow Percival Schott, alias the Toyman, was born in Britain. The child genius invented his first toy at a young age, a toy airplane painted red and blue. Another boy, out of jealousy of Winslow's fantastic home-made toys, stole his airplane. This act had a profound affect on Schott. When he grew up, Winslow created some of the most amazing toys ever conceived, which earned him world acclaim.
However, LexCorp's acquisition of Schott's toy company left him jobless, and he was embittered by the company's use of his toys for military purposes. He became the supervillain Toyman, seeking vengeance on Lex Luthor. After several attempts to assassinate Luthor and fought with Superman, he was arrested. Toyman was later sprung from prison and used by Intergang to help them build some deadly traps at their lair.
Later versions of him imply that he has some degree of schizophrenia. Another voice was constantly in his head urging him on in his schemes which he refers to as his "Mother".
DC Rebirth[]
Following DC Rebirth, Schott attacked Metropolis to gain revenge on Lex Luthor, who had crushed his toy company in a hostile takeover. Schott responded by weaponizing his designs and unleashing explosive destruction all over the city to ruin the now LexCorp-owned business.
As Superman crushed his giant robots and deadly drones, Schott never realized Luthor's true game-plan: forcing the inventive Toyman to create new technology Lexcorp could steal and sell to the military.
Powers and Abilities[]
Toyman does not have any real powers, but he is apparently a mechanical genius, capable of building giant toys that function as robots and as deadly weapons.
Other Versions[]
Jack Nimball[]
Jack Nimball assumed the identity of the Toyman for a time when the original (Winslow Schott) had apparently retired. Schott eventually resumed his criminal career and killed Nimball for usurping his name. It has been indicated that android versions of Jack Nimball also exist in the New Earth and Prime Earth realities, created by the original Toyman.
Hiro Okamura[]
The third version of the infamous supervillain, Hiro assumed the identity of Toyman for becoming a vigilante but unlike the original incarnations, he is the only heroic version of the character.
Justice[]

The Toyman appears in Justice as a member of the Legion of Doom. This version communicates through a human-sized marionette resembling Jack Nimball. The Marionette uses a black-and-yellow color scheme and has several strings connected to its joints that give it the appearance of being operated from above. He attacks Hawkman and Hawkgirl in their museum using toy fighter planes and a gigantic Nimball Marionette, blowing up their museum and leaving the duo for dead, though they survive the attack. The Toyman's city is shown to resemble a fun house and is mainly populated by children and families.
When the Justice League storm the Hall of Doom, the Marionette attacks the League as a whole instead of any particular target, but is nonetheless destroyed in the attack. After the attack, the toys in his city come to life and attack the Justice League. Superman eventually finds Schott, now morbidly obese and infected with Brainiac's cybernetics. Superman realizes that the Toyman had taken all the children in his city hostage and, with a band of Justice Leaguers, managed to save all of the children before any harm could come to them. Schott was seen recovering in a hospital bed on a screen in the Batcave.
