The Tracker, also known as Mr. Nobody is a major antagonist in the 2023 neo-noir action film John Wick: Chapter 4, the fourth installment in the John Wick franchise.
He is a skilled bounty hunter who has his sights set on John Wick. The Tracker is almost always accompanied by his trusty companion, a Belgian Malinois dog, whom he has trained to fight alongside him.
He was portrayed by Shamier Anderson in his first villainous role.
History[]
The Tracker is first sighted at the Continental Hotel in Osaka, where he is seen viewing a book of various criminal organization symbols while playing with his dog. After the skirmish at the Osaka Continental, he visits the Marquis de Gramont who seeks his services, but stated that he will only be offering help if there is a payment in exchange. Enraged, the Marquis pins Mr. Nobody's hand with a knife and threatened by holding the latter's dog at gunpoint. As a result, the Tracker begrudgingly pulls his hand out, pledging his fealty to the Marquis.
He then follows John Wick to the Ruska Roma in Berlin, immediately informing the Marquis about John's whereabouts. Soon enough, he enters Killa's nightclub and faces the latter, John, and Caine in a poker game. Upon discovering Killa's apparent cheating, he is forced to fend for himself by taking down Killa's goons with the help of his dog alongside Caine and John Wick. Mr. Nobody then leaves the club upon Killa's death at the hands of Wick.
He is one of the assassins that were informed of a huge bounty placed on John's head by the High Table and is tasked with stopping or delaying John Wick from reaching the place of the duel on time. He takes out some of the assassins that were attempting to kill the Baba Yaga and soon assists John and Caine in taking down some of the High Table's forces and delivers the killing shot onto Chidi, the Marquis' top enforcer.
Later, he is seen watching the duel between John Wick and Caine, and displays an amused expression when John blows the Marquis' head off.
Personality[]
Mr. Nobody, much like most of John Wick's adversaries, is a ruthless bounty hunter who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. However, he is capable of effective team-play as he repays those who assist him when he faces trouble. One of the traits that he shares with John Wick is his special attachment to his pet dog and will not tolerate anyone who tries to hurt it.
Trivia[]
- To play the Tracker, Shamier Anderson cited Heath Ledger's Joker as one of his inspirations to play the role.
- Despite that a John Wick: Chapter 5 is highly unlikely after the end of John Wick: Chapter 4, Shamier Anderson has expressed interest to make a spin-off film focusing on the Tracker.
