Biography[]
Trent, along with Sampson Dunston and Sampson’s brother, was one-third of the teenagers who threw firecrackers through an open window of the Crowley house to get a look at Victor Crowley. When Victor’s father Thomas arrived, the three teens ran away. Thomas failed to save his son when he unintentionally struck him in the face with a hatchet. Thomas then confronted the three teens responsible for the fire but they denied everything because of Thomas threatening them with a shotgun. Thomas Crowley later fell into despair and died of a broken heart.
In Hatchet II, Trent makes his first appearance when he enters Reverend Zombie’s Voodoo Shop. Justin, Zombie's right-hand man, greets him with a fake accent. Trent's refusal to buy the accent results in him ordering Justin to drop it and removes Justin's beret. Trent moves to sit down and listen to Zombie's proposal. Trent soon questions what the group’s hunting, Victor Crowley. Half of the people, including Trent at first, exit. Trent is approached by Zombie in an attempt to persuade him to proceed with the hunt. Trent denies fearing anyone or anything, but he won't enter a swamp without five hundred dollars. Zombie touches upon Trent's past that involves his previous DUI, ex-wife, and house. Trent’s not talking about any of that but Zombie offers him a thousand dollars, half of it right then and the other half the next morning. Trent is given the opportunity to leave if anything goes wrong. Trent ponders this for a moment, consents, and goes back to his seat.
Later that evening, Trent finds himself with a group of five people, which includes Zombie, Justin, Marybeth, and her uncle Bob, who travel to the Crowley house. Marybeth has a simple intention of gathering the remains of her family and burying them. Before the five arrive at the Crowley house, Zombie informs Justin of his plan to lift the curse by feeding Trent and Marybeth's uncle Bob to Victor Crowley, so that Crowley can receive revenge and find peace. The five eventually find the shed where Marybeth found her family, but it is now empty. Trent witnesses Marybeth leave the shed to go to the house and calls her a 'brave little gal.' Justin soon starts pleading for his brother, but Trent does not want to hear. Trent then follows Zombie into the Crowley house and Justin follows suit. Inside the house, Justin wants to head back to the boat and so does Trent. Victor Crowley's 'daddy' calls are soon heard and Marybeth prompts them to close the door immediately. An empty bookcase is placed in front of the door by Trent and Justin immediately after Marybeth closes it. Bob is now blaming Zombie for causing them to get into this situation. Eventually, the five of them hear shots being fired from inside the house. Trent is soon asked by Bob if he has seen anything outside, and he suggests that there are multiple ways to enter the house. During Trent's confrontation with Victor Crowley, Trent shoots Crowley in the head, but Crowley then retaliates by attacking Trent as he attempts to reload. Trent and Crowley come to a scuffle in the kitchen. The two begin to choke each other. Crowley rushes towards Trent, but hits a wooden support for the wall, which Trent uses to choke him. Crowley breaks the wood. Trent strikes Crowley in the head with a piece of wood. Crowley quickly gains control and tosses Trent across the kitchen table. Trent hits Crowley with a broken chair and grabs a cleaver, only to be kicked in the right knee by Crowley, causing it to break. Crowley subsequently puts Trent's mouth on the side of the kitchen table and kicks him in the head. Half of Trent's head slides across the table, killing him.
The next day, A paramedic carries the half of Trent’s head that was kicked off.
