Trip Van Twinkle Toes is a villain from the Teletoon animated series/Wayside rip-off, Sidekick. He is an evil 70's-style dancer dude, who wants to control everyone in Splittsboro into becoming part of his dancing army. He appeared in "Trip Van Twinkle Toes".
Biography[]
In "Trip Van Twinkle Toes", Trip Van Twinkle Toes opened a store in Splittsboro, where he started selling his cool new shoes, known as Twinkle Toes, to everyone. The Twinkle Toes were the most popular shoes in town and pretty soon, everybody was wearing them. Everyone except for Kitty. Due to her disability of having two left feet, Kitty was excluded from ever buying any shoes and couldn't get any Twinkle Toes of her own. Kitty wasn't alone in being outside of the loop, as Mandy Struction also showed up and refused to buy any Twinkle Toes for herself, since she already owned some Seismo-Shoes, which she didn't care to part with. This didn't stop Kitty from feeling bad about not being a part of the trend.
Kitty tried to sneak into Trip Van Twinkle Toes' store after hours to steal some shoes but when she was there, she overheard Trip monologuing to himself in the mirror about how he's going to use these Twinkle Toes as an evil plan to control everybody into becoming a dancing army, who would serve him and help him to take over the world. Kitty rushed outside to warn everybody about this but it was already too late, as everyone was already stuck in a state of permanent dancing.
Kitty confronted Trip Van Twinkle Toes and he told her his entire villainous backstory, of how he came from a whole dancing family who didn't think he was good enough to be like them. That's why he invented the Twinkle Toes, so that he could lead an entire army into taking over the world and showing his family who's boss. When Kitty tried to stop him, Trip Van Twinkle Toes brought out his entire army of dancers to come after her and start kicking her back and forth. This was all until she was pulled into the sewers by a mysterious hero.
This mysterious hero turned out to be Mandy Struction. Mandy told Kitty that she needed to embrace her two left feet.
Kitty went back up on land and challenged Trip Van Twinkle Toes to a dance off. Trip accepted and led his army of dancers through an Irish-style super dance. Trip Van Twinkle Toes exhibited the ability to be a perfect dancer, who nobody could stop. It was clear that Kitty was going to lose but Kitty still managed to cheat her way to victory by running around in circles around Trip Van Twinkle Toes and making him so dizzy that he passed out and landed on the ground. Mandy Struction came in and stomped an earthquake under Trip, making him fall to his doom. Following his defeat, all of the Twinkle Toes stopped working and everyone was free from the dance trance.

- His name is a pun on "Rip Van Winkle".
- Trip Van Twinkle Toes said "I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can", which is a reference to the 1979 book by Barbara Gordon, which would later be popularized when it was adapted into a 1982 movie.
