People are not inherently weak! We all have power within us! And what we hope to demonstrate with our revival party... is that the good people and their meta abilities can triumph over evil!! Through their innate power, life will prevail!! We call for the dissolution of your league!! Now, my fine people, liberate them!! Combine your powers and open a path to the coming era!! Show the world that, yes, everyone is a hero! And that at the same time... no one is!!
~ Trumpet

Koku Hanabata, better known as Trumpet, is a major antagonist in the manga/anime series My Hero Academia. He is a former member of the Meta Liberation Army, and later a lieutenant of the Paranormal Liberation Front.

He was voiced by Junji Majima in the Japanese version, and by Adam McArthur in the English version.

Personality[]

Trumpet is known to be a very relaxed man. Unlike Skeptic, he wasn't that concerned about the death of Curious and instead took advantage of what happened to her using his intelligence and manipulation skills, along with his Quirk, Incite, to further motivative and power up his comrades of the Meta Liberation Army. Skeptic is very prideful as was seen where Spinner compared him and the former villain organization and stated how they're the same and making Spinner his equal.

However like Re-Destro, Curious and Skeptic, Trumpet is very loyal to his boss; when Gigantomachia came to Deika, he commanded his comrade to head towards their grand commander's current location to help. But after a grueling battle in Deika City, between the Meta Liberation Army and the League of Villains, both sides joined together to become the Paranormal Liberation Front. He later became one of the nine lieutenants of the new organization, along with Geten, Skeptic and his boss Re-Destro, to be second in command. But he is still loyal to Re-Destro as his right-hand man.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Incite: This Quirk allows to line Trumpet's voice with an electromagnetic pulse. If anyone, who considers Trumpet a worthy leader hears him well, then their physical and mental state will be significantly enhanced. The louder Trumpet is, the more effective the Quirk becomes. However, by using this kind of power to strengthen someone can lead to a heavy price to the recipient's body.

Abilities[]

  • Political authority: As a politician, Trumpet has some level of influence within the Government of Japan and the Hero Society in general and as leader of his own political part, he also has full authority over it too.
  • Leadership: Trumpet is one of the nine lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front.
  • Charisma: He's been noted to carry an great amount of charisma. During the battle in Deika City, Trumpet was able to raise the spirit of the members of the Meta Liberation Army, and ordered them to keep on fighting the enemy, even after negative events.

Equipment[]

  • Sevens Loud: A mask developed by Detnerat specifically for Trumpet's use. It's covered in seven mini speakers that amplify the user's voice to a greater margin than a regular microphone, thus enhancing the power of Trumpet's Quirk beyond its natural ability. He conceals the mask on his person as a pair of wristbands.
