Twonkies are minor antagonist of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, serving as the titular main antagonists of the episode "Attack of the Twonkies". They are an extraterrestrial race of life forms from the comet Twonkus 3. They begin as tiny, adorable beings but transform into hostile ones when they hear soothing musical patterns.
Both the episode "Attack of the Twonkies" and the video game of the same name have them as the main antagonists.
In the video game, they've also shown the ability to evolve into three different elemental forms:dark blue for lighting, a white/green mix for ice, and purple for dark matter.
History[]
When Jimmy returns from his expedition to Twonkus 3, he discovers the presence of an endearing extraterrestrial entity within his collected sand specimens. In disregard of Jimmy's cautionary advice pertaining to extraterrestrial companions, Carl proceeds to bring his alien creature, known as "Twonkie," to the educational institution and proceeds to exhibit it to the entire class. Following the process of multiplication, the aforementioned entities see a significant surge in popularity, resulting in widespread ownership among the general populace. The potential hazards associated with possessing an extraterrestrial companion become evident as Carl engages in a musical performance for his twonkies, resulting in their transformation into aggressive and ferocious creatures. In the near future, it is anticipated that the inhabitants of Retroville will undergo a transformation, wherein they would exhibit primitive behaviors upon exposure to auditory stimuli.
Under Jimmy's leadership, a team is tasked with the responsibility of safely transporting the Twonkies back to the comet prior to their departure for a subsequent year. Following the inclusion of Graystar, the renowned rock band Libby was enlisted to partake in a performance during the much anticipated grand opening of the town's newly established library. Consequently, Jimmy is now prepared to initiate the process of returning the twonkies to their rightful place on Twonkus-3. Regrettably, the container housing the Twonkies experiences vibrations subsequent to the performance of the song. Upon rupture, the aforementioned entity unveils itself, resembling the identical colossal creature measuring around eight feet in height that Jimmy narrowly evaded during his encounter with the celestial body. This revelation confirms that the aforementioned monstrosity is an amalgamation of many Twonkies.
As evidenced by his findings on the comet, it can be concluded that this creature possesses an inherent resistance to all of Jimmy's weaponry. Upon Sheen's arrival, it becomes evident that he lacks knowledge regarding the transformative effect of music on the Twonkies, causing them to exhibit violent behavior. Jimmy comes to the realization that Sheen's Twonkie is the sole entity that did not undergo any form of evolution. Liversnap, the individual whom Sheen has chosen to rechristen as an alternative to Mr. Cabbage-Pants, regards Sheen's vocal abilities as being contrary to the principles of music due to their perceived lack of proficiency. Rather than exhibiting anger, it becomes weak. In order to prevent the destruction of Retroville, Jimmy successfully neutralizes the creature and afterward returns it to the comet.
In a span of 30 seconds, Jimmy intends to engage Twonkus 3 by means of affixing the creature to a rocket. Upon the emergence of the creature, Sheen experiences an obstruction in his airway due to the ingestion of popcorn, rendering him unable to vanquish the entity due to his inadequacy in vocal prowess. The creature exhibits considerable difficulty and agitation as it vigorously shakes the rocket, resulting in a malfunction of the main propulsion system. In the final 15 seconds prior to launch, Jimmy makes the decision to manually initiate a fire in order to ignite the rocket. Judy enthusiastically hurls Hugh's prop to Jimmy, who subsequently and permanently restores the object to its original location on the comet.
Trivia[]
- Twonkies are parodies of the Mogwais and Gremlins from the 1984 movie "Gremlins" and its 1990 sequel. Just as the Twonkies change into monsters, once the Mogwais eat after midnight, and they turn into Gremlins.
- Twonkies' vocal effects were provided by Frank Welker, who also voiced Stripe.
