Tybalt is the main antagonist in the 2011 computer-animated comedy film Gnomeo & Juliet and a minor character in its 2018 sequel Sherlock Gnomes. He is based off his original counterpart from Romeo and Juliet. He is a Red gnome and former arch-rival of Gnomeo.
He was voiced by Jason Statham, who also played Deckard Shaw in the Fast and Furious franchise and Ethan Greer in Cellular.
Biography
Gnomeo & Juliet
Tybalt first appeared when Benny kicks a snail into his mouth. Later, Tybalt is seen competing with Gnomeo in a lawnmower race, where he knocked Gnomeo and his mower away with a pipe. After the race, Benny called him a cheat, and Tybalt kicked him over. Tybalt retired to the red garden, which Benny responding to him "Come out and fight like a gnome!" and "Flower boy won't come out". Later that night, Tybalt discovered that Gnomeo is on the red garden, sending Fawn and the little red gnomes after him. Tybalt then fights Gnomeo on top of the boat until they were interfered by Mr. Capulet.
That same night, Tybalt runs into Juliet when she's running back to the red garden after her encounter with Gnomeo. He asked her if she had seen Gnomeo, but she lies that she hasn't seen him at all before Tybalt escorts her back into the red garden. Later on, Tybalt sees Benny going out into the alley after handling a weed-killer gun. Tybalt jokes about Fawn and the little red gnomes, implying that he's going to use the red mower to smash Benny. Eventually, Tybalt succeeded in chopping off Benny's hat. Gnomeo is angry by this and fights Tybalt on the mower. Eventually, Gnomeo gets off the mower, causing Tybalt to crash into a wall and get smashed to pieces.
At the end of the film, Tybalt is revived by getting glued back together and seen dancing with the other gnomes.
Sherlock Gnomes
Tybalt only makes three small cameos in Sherlock Gnomes. The first being when the gnomes first enter the new garden, second when the gnomes are dancing to music, and third when he and the other gnomes are trapped by Moriarty.
