NOTE: This article is only about Tygren's appearances in Season 1 of Songs of War.

So allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tygren Voltaris. As for you, Thalleous Sendaris, I know who you are, Champion. And I know what you've done to my clan. Your sword has slain many of my brothers and once I kill you, I will take it and slay twice as many of yours!

Tygren Voltaris is the secondary antagonist of the animated web series Songs of War, serving as the main antagonist of the Ardoni arc.

After the Deathsinger supposedly perished at Mount Velgrin, he became the new head of the Voltaris Clan, seeking to finish what Ingressus had started. He vows to steal the Prime Songs and kill all of the remaining Ardoni before awaiting his leader's return.

He is voiced by Lucas Webley.

Appearance[]

He is an Ardoni who is part of the Voltaris Clan, identified by his glowing red patterns and eyes. The patterns on his body are form like a ribcage. For the first half of the series, he wields an iron sword. After slaying his archnemsis, Thalleous Sendaris, he steals his diamond greatsword and uses that as his main weapon.

Personality[]

You won't escape this time, old man.
~ Tygren to Thalleous, preparing the Voltaris to fight him.

Tygren is a psychotic and sadistic killer who will kill who ever he needs in order to reach his goals. This would include wiping out entire villages of Ardoni to find the Prime Songs. When confronting Thalleous for the last time, he showed no remorse for burning the Sendaris village, hypocritically blaming Thalleous for his actions. He shows no remorse and even seems to enjoy committing crimes, as demonstrated by sadistically smiling after burning down Sendaria as well as killing Thalleous and Hawken.

During the first fight on Mount Velgrin, he is shown to be an incredibly skilled fighter, dodging and parrying attacks with ease. Although he mainly uses weapons, he also excels in hand-to-hand combat. He is able to keep up and even gain the upper hand on Thalleous, who is a renowned champion. He was even able to able to gain the upper hand and force Thalleous to retreat. In his second confrontation with Thalleous, he was even able to kill him with a surprise attack.

Despite his violent tendencies, Tygren is very loyal to his clan, even if he is sometimes rude to them. After Ingressus disappeared after the Great War, Tygren followed his footsteps, taking leadership of the Voltaris and attempting to reclaim the Prime Songs.

Trivia[]

  • Although this wasn't shown in Season 1, Tygren's plot relevancy would have slowly dwindled after Ingressus retook his place as leader of the Voltaris Clan.
  • It's possible that a combination of an over usage of Songs and witnessing Champions massacring his people led to him suffering intense mental illness, which would explain his psychotic tendencies.
  • Tygren is much different from Ingressus, while Ingressus is stoic and fair, Tygren is vicious and psychotic. Tygren embodies what other Ardoni view the Voltaris.
