Tyki Mikk

Tyki Mikk is the third disciple of the Noah Family, and his Noah name is Joido. He represents the "Pleasure" of Noah, and is one of the main antagonists of the D.Gray-man series.

He is voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa in the Japanese version of the anime and Brad Hawkins in the English version, the former of whom also voices Naraku, Sephiroth and Mard Geer Tartaros.

Personality

Tyki Mikk presents two different personalities, a "light" and a "dark" side as he says. In fact, if he seems a quite and gentle person when he is with his human friends, at the other side he shows a brutally bloodlust and a perverse sadism, especially when he kills Exorcists. He has a different rapport with the humans than the others disciples of the Noah's family, and is the only one that could feel liking for them. In his human form he appears as a miner with Portuguese origins, and he is always seen with his coworkers of work and a child who always receives silvers buttons (which belonged to the exorcists that Tyki killed) by him. In his Noah form he dress like noble man, but despite this he keeps a rough attitude and such cockiness to be the only one that allow himself to scoff the Millennium Earl, but in general he appears calm, reflexive and occasionally cheerful, even if he had already shown to be able to do terrible atrocities, as when he kill the general Yegaar and the young Daisya Berry using barbaric methods, or when he manipulate the exorcist Suman Dark making him a monster and killing him after. He was also responsible for ruthlessly destroying Allen's Innocence. Despite this, like the other Noah he deeply cares for his family more than his human friends. Wisely has noted that Tyki shares a resemblance to Nea D.Campbell for unknown reasons, to the point that Allen mistook Nea appearance with Tyki.

Appearance

In his human form he is seen as normal man, with a white t-shirt, the braces, the mess hairs and a pair of thick glasses while in his Noah's form he is dresses like a noble man with a top hat, white gloves, black jacket, a pair of shoes and a walking stick, but he can occasionally wear a simple white jacket when he is in this form, his skin is dark and he have the typical stigmata of Noah's family in his front. He is usually seen smoking most of the time. After he was gravelly injured by Allen's Sword of Excorsim, Tyki inner-Noah began to swallow him and he starts sprouting tentacles, in this state Tyki is mindless, he also resembles a level 3 Akuma in this form.

Powers and Abilities

Tyki Mikk present the principal powers of the Noah's family, such as immortality, the command of Akuma, the use of the Dark Matter and a deep bound with the others members of the Noah's family. But his individual ability as the pleasure of Noah is the "choose", he can in fact make intangible all the objects or persons in the world (except for the innocence), allowing him to manipulate the surrounding air creating air pockets. He is also accompanied by two cannibals golem with the form of butterflies, named Teez, that devour under his command the internal organs of his victims and by the Cell Roron, a tridimensional card which identify for him the exorcist that he must kill. The real power of Tyki is shown during his awakening, when Allen Walker failed in attempt to exorcise him. In this form, he appears practically invincible and out of control for being defeat by the average exorcist, but not for a general. Tyki initially sprouts many tentacles from his body that he can use to strike down his opponents, then the tentacles wrap around him to transform him into a demonic knight-like monster made of pure Dark Matter. This form gives Tyki enhanced power, speed, and all around abilities as shown when he casually dealt with Allen Walker. and can also launch blasts of Dark Matter at his opponents, as well as imbue his punches with Dark Matter and create devastating shock waves upon impact.

History

At the beginning of the series, he only appeared at the table of the Millennium Earl with the other member of the Noah's family, and he take action after the vampire old castle arc's events. Not much had been shown about his past and is only know that he presumably grew up with his brother, Sheril Kamelot, but keeps a different surname for reasons unknown. Tyki at some point began to live a dual life, one as a homeless migrant worker, traveling with two of his friends and a child named Eeez, and the other as a member of high society and brother to a minister. Despite his refined manners and wealthy family connections, Tyki claims that he has no education. After Sheril married Tricia Kamelot and adopted Road, Tyki became an uncle.

The Vampire from the Old Castle Arc

After the events in the vampire's castle and the admission of Arystar Krory III as an exorcist, Tyki Mikk first meet Allen Walker, Lavi and Arystar in his human form in a train with his humans friends. They play a card's game with the unwitting Krory, eventually stripping him to his underwear, but Allen success into beat them in a card's match (cheating) taking back Krory's belongings, and giving back to Tyki Mikk and to his friends their clothes, that he won during the match. After Tyki leaves the train, the Millennium Earl calls Tyki using a payphone. During the following meeting, Tyki is given a list of people to kill and ordered to find and destroy Innocence, forcing Tyki to largely abandon his human activities.

General Yeegar Falls Arc (Anime Only)

This episode is present only in the anime series where is seen the killing of the general Yeegar, while in the manga it's have only the notice of his death. Tyki, along with Road Kamelot, is ordered to kill General Kevin Yeegar. After finding him, Road drives him insane by drawing him into her dreamworld and Tyki then removes some of his vital organs, killing him very slowly.

Order in Crisis Arc

Tyki receive from the Millennium Earl to find and kill Allen Walker, and then he travels to Barcelona and encounters Daisya Barry while the city is under siege by Akuma. The ensuing battle is short-lived, resulting in Daisya's death. He later encounters another Exorcist; Suman Dark, although Tyki kills Suman companions but spares Suman since he begged for his life, Tyki then proceed to insert a Teez inside of Suman's body turning the Exorcist into a Fallen One. Later he watches as a horde of Akuma's attack Suman, after Allen successfully rescue's Suman, Tyki approaches Allen and kills Suman with Teez, shocking Allen. He then asks Allen his identity but Allen is too angry to answer, however the Cell Roron conforms Allen Walker identity. Tyki then shows his power to Allen to phase through anything, he tries to scare him by removing Allen's heart but is surprised that Allen isn't scared in the least. While the Cell Roron tells Tyki that Allen is his target, he proceeds to eliminate him, destroying Allen's innocence he also inserts a Teez inside of Allen's heart. Believing he has eliminated Allen, Tyki proceeds to leave the sight while throwing poker cards at him.

Edo and Asian Branch Arc

Along with the other Noah, Tyki goes back to Japan, while fishing, Cell Roron is unable to delete Allen Walker name, which shocks Tyki that Allen might be still alive, The Earl then tells Tyki not to underestimate Innocence. Tyki then sends Thread a level 3 Akuma to go and bring Allen to him who is in China. While awaiting Allen he remains in Japan alongside the other Noah when the Exorcist team arrive they recognize Tyki from Timcanpy memory who has destroyed Allen Innocence, Tyki proceeds to taunt the team but he tells them that Allen is still alive but also informs them that he sent an Akuma that will bring him to him half-dead. He then engages in combat with Lavi before switching his target to Lenalee and holds her hostage, Yu Kanda arrives and fights Tyki for a brief moment. But with Edo's destruction at the hands of the Earl and unexpected arrival of Allen, Tyki and the rest of the Noah are forced to retreat.

Noah Ark Arc

With the completion of the Noah Ark, Tyki, Skinn, Road, Jasdevi they decide to play a game with the Exorcists by kidnapping Lenalee. Allen, Kanda, Lavi, Chaozi, Krory all enter the Noah Ark where Allen and Lavi recognize Tyki (who is in his human form) way back from when they met from the train however Tyki soon changes back to his Noah form and chastises Allen for being alive by hitting him in his forehead and thanks to him he had to clean all the Earl messes. When Lero tells the team there is no way out of the Noah Ark as it is set to collapse within a time limit, Tyki says there is only one way out and that is by using Road's ability to travel through dimensions, he then hands the Exorcists master key that opens every door in the Ark and tells them to get out of here they will have to reach the highest level of the Ark.

Tyki then reaches the top of the tower of the Ark he Road and Jasdevi all mourn Skinn Bolic death. After the remaining exorcists reach the top of the tower Tyki decides to invite them to dinner party with them, but Allen refuses his offer. Tyki then taunts the Exorcists if they are scared and wonders how Allen could still be alive even when he implanted a Teez inside of his heart which shocks Lavi. Tyki uses a Teez on a powerless Lenalee but Allen immediately kills it and threatens Tyki not to harm his friends or he will be forced to kill him. Tyki then starts fighting Allen while Road hold both Chaozi and Lenalee hostage and fights Lavi in her dream world.

Tyki jumps across the table and clashes with Allen new Innocence, this time determined to crush his innocence for good, Tyki lands a powerful blow on Allen's new Innocence but it recovers quickly, shocking Tyki. Tyki is then forced to reject the air itself using his ability to create a vacuum trapping Allen inside and removing all the air making him suffocate, Tyki then reaches his hand towards Allen's heart this time ready to crush it, but Allen drives Tyki back by increasing his Syncro rate beyond one hundred percent, making his body glow with Innocence. Tyki then sees Allen has transformed his hand into a sword which shocks him. Tyki is then scared by the amount of power that Allen has which allowed Allen to escape the vacuum, Tyki imagined himself being struck by Allen's sword which also shocks Road who asks him what happened. Tyki replies that this is something defies normal logic as transforming one's hand into a sword is against the rules. Allen however is determined to save the human side of Tyki and uses his sword against him but Tyki blocks it with an evolved Teez. Allen questions Tyki that he too must care for his human friends which makes Tyki remember them, but Tyki shrugs this off as he says it became much more fun to destroy and kill, however Allen merely impales Tyki with his sword in attempt to kill the Noah inside Tyki. Allen comes back for Tyki after the room starts to collapse. However, after Allen's failed attempt of exorcise the Noah inside him, Tyki inner Noah starts to take over him and swallow him turning him into a demon and losing his sense of self.

Tyki now in a new form turns into a demonic knight with his blood turning black and tentacles sprouting, he quickly overpowers Allen and Lavi who can't even touch him as they are completely helpless against this Tyki and Lavi Innocence even starts to shatter. It wasn't until the arrival of General Cross Marian that the Exorcists are saved who loses against Cross Grave of Maria and his bullets. When Cross was about to finish off Tyki, The Earl arrives and saves him, The Earl is pleased to see that Tyki has fully awakened, thus fulfilling his expectations as the holder of the "Pleasure" memory, as he tends to suppress his inner Noah.
