Tyler Gremlin is a minor antagonist in Pixar's 12th full-length animated feature film Cars 2. He is a Lemon who is a member of the Gremlin Family, working with Professor Zündapp.

Biography

Cars 2

Tyler is first seen delivering an Allinol tank to be attached to Rod "Torque" Redline. Then, he was smiling when Rod "Torque" Redline was going to be hit by the electric pulse camera.

Eventually, Finn McMissile came over to Lightning McQueen’s pit to stop Acer and Petey Pacer from entering and attacking Mater. Once Finn sprayed them with foam from a fire extinguisher and began to flee, countless members of the Lemons started to chase him.

While Tyler was driving silently down the road looking for Mater, Finn used his hook to knock over a vending machine in front of Tyler, who took the blame for it and got arrested later off screen.

Cars 2: The Video Game

In Cars 2: The Video Game, Tyler Gremlin appears in Hunter Mode with a bumper that allows him to bump into the player without getting damaged, and you have to destroy him. When he sees the player, he quickly turbo boosts into the player's direction and bumps the player. Tyler also appears in Survival Mode without his bumper, where the player needs to destroy him and steal his energy, which will increase the power of their Shield to survive Professor Z's attack. He is not playable, but has been made playable by use of Mods.

Personality

Like all the other Lemons, Tyler Gremlin is a cold-hearted terrorist who would do anything for a quick buck. Apparently, he is very homicidal because he was involved in the death of Rod Torque Redline.

He is also very sadistic for attempting to abduct Mater until Hans and two other vehicles yelled at him.

Weaponry and Gadgets

In Cars 2: The Video Game, Tyler Gremlin uses two weapons:

• Energy Leech: in the Survival Mode he uses the Energy Leech when the player los his boost.
• Missile Launcher: He uses the Missile Launcher to fire and hurt the player.

Trivia

• Tyler's last name is Gremlin, which is the name of his model.
• Like all the other Gremlins, he has black hockey stripes on his doors.
  • On the packaging for his die-cast version, his eyes are brown, but on the actual toy, they're incorrectly green.
  • According to his die-cast version, his license plate is WREKD, short for "wrecked", which is the same as Grem's and Don Crumlin's.
    • Diecast product listings refer to him as "Tyler Trunklis", implying that this was his name in the initial version of the film. It was likely changed so that every Lemon of the same family would share the same last name, the only exceptions being Don Crumlin, and Stefan Gremsky.
    • Due to growing up being ruthlessly picked on and mistreaded by his peers Tyler developed low down mean streak a mile wide. He is so spiteful and short tempered that most other cars and other vehicles give him a wide birth to avoid his rancorous wrath.
    • On the packaging for his die-cast version, his eyes are brown, but on the actual toy, they're blue-green.
• Tyler is an AMC Gremlin that is painted red, with black "hockey stripes" on his doors (though they are not seen in the film), similar to other Gremlins .
• Tyler Gremlin and Don Crumlin share the same voice.
• In the Oil Rig Arena, if Tyler falls into the ocean, he will have Acer's screaming voice.
• In the game's files, he is known as "Gremlin Red", while his bumper version is known as "Rammer".
• Due to a glitch in the PC and Wii version of the game, his eyes and mouth doesn't move.
• Tyler Gremlin, Don Crumlin and Grem share the same licence plate "WRKED", an abbreviation of "wrecked".
• In the intro of the game, two Tyler Gremlins appear in the intro, but his eyes were green.
• Tyler Gremlin and Don Crumlin share the same facial expression in the PC and Wii version of the game.
• In Cars 2, he doesn't have black stripes, while in the video game he has, same with his diecast toy.
