Typhon is the godlike Lord Of Chaos, and energy of Dr.Fate. He is the Dark Lord and seeks to end the universe in chaos. When Eric Strauss was training to become the new Doctor Fate Typhon battled him and tortured him while he was in Arkham Asylum. While there, Typhon was able to get Dr. Benjamin Stoner to put on the helmet and amulet, creating Anti-Fate. When the Lords of Order attempted to use Andrew Bennett to destroy all of creation, Typhon possessed lawyer Jack Small and allied himself with Doctor Fate.

As the supreme Lord of Chaos Typhon is a supremely powerful cosmic entity capable of any feat. The battle between chaos and order being seen as a battle between stagnation and anarchy - as can be expected Chaos Lord Typhon champions anarchy and is for all intents and purposes an omnipotent character. Typhon is nigh-omnipotent and possesses cosmic/mystical energy manipulation, telekinesis, telepathy, matter manipulation, portal creation, reality warping, and chaos magic. He is Dr. Fates most powerful villain.
