~ Typhoon Devil warning his contractor about Denji. |
Typhoon Devil is a minor antagonist from Chainsaw Man, being the secondary antagonist of the Bomb Girl arc and a minor antagonist in the Academy Saga. Initially a devil formed from the fear of typhoon who made a contract with a notorious killer, it is revealed that he is actually the servant of Reze and is willingly to do whatever it takes to protect his master.
Appearance[]
In his first appearance, in order to communicate with his host after making a contract with him, he manifests himself as a swirling drain, befitting his typhoon abilities. After revealing his true form, the Typhoon Devil appears as a huge swirling tornado with a head that looks like a baby opening his mouth with no upper part of the face in which it was replaced by a human face that was protruding from his own head.
In a flashback in the Justice Devil arc, the Typhoon Devil has a noticeably different appearance (likely given due to it being an older incarnation), with its head having the appearance of an old man with a small mustache.
Personality[]
Much like Akane Sawatari from the previous arc, he is a devil with a serious and a no-nonsense personality dedicated to his job fulfilling his master wishes and acts as a pragmatic demon who tries his best to get what he wants when forming a contract with somebody. However, in the end, his true allegiance is with Reze and his real personality is that of a respectful, obedient and affable devil towards her, even tries his best to risk himself to protect her from harms way when the going gets though during the fight.
Biography[]
The Typhoon Devil made his appearance in Chapter 41 where he discuss with a brutal killer that he made a contract with about stealing Denji's heart. While warning him about Denji's abilities, the killer then tells him the story about how he brutally murdered a devil hunter while kidnapping and torturing them before finishing them off like a lamb to slaughter. After the conversation, the duo then manages to track both Denji and Reze's whereabouts in a certain school with the Typhoon Devil trapping them with his storm powers and the killer attempting to kill Reze in cold blood.
Unbeknownst to the killer, it was revealed that both Reze and the Typhoon Devil were conspiring with each other as the former murdered the killer that the Typhoon Devil made a contract with. This resulted on him getting scolded by Reze even if his behavior will be overlooked by her and then was ordered to clean up the corpse of the killer that Reze had killed in which the Typhoon Devil agrees.
Returning again in Chapter 49 during Reze's fight with the Devil Hunters, the Typhoon Devil then made an appearance in order to help Reze to defeat them which causes an amount of destruction in the city with his typhoon powers. Seemingly reminded about on how he beats the Katana Man, Denji decides to team up with the Shark Devil, Beam, in order to get close to the Typhoon Devil as possible in order to maim him with his chainsaw. As Reze was seemingly at disadvantage, Typhoon Devil then decides to give her his blood in order to help her. However, in the end, Denji and Beam manages to kill Typhoon Devil as Denji cuts his head.
The next time the Typhoon Devil is seen in Chainsaw Man is in a flashback during the events of the Justice Devil arc, where it is revealed to have killed main protagonist Asa Mitaka's family during one of its rampages. This sparked a greater distaste for devils in general for Asa, leading her to become determined to eliminate Chainsaw Man.
