“ | Sometimes it's easy to forget one's royalty. Just like that traitor. | „ |
~ Tyrell to Carlos. |
Tyrell Patrick is a minor antagonist in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. He was a mercenary who joined the Umbrella Corporation as a monitor to gather data for the organization.
He was voiced by Peter Windrem.
Personality[]
Despite having a minor role in the game, he is implied to be just as cold and sinister as Nicholai, derisively referring to Carlos as a "guinea pig" in their interaction. He also seems to be highly paranoid, as he kept his gun and pointed at Carlos, who was never in on the loop like him and the other supervisors.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Little is known about Tyrell's background. He was born and raised in Suriname in Northern South America. At some point, Tyrell left the country to Europe and joined the French Foreign Legion as a soldier. However, during his time in the Legion, he abuses his position by smuggling and suppled weaponry to the black market dealers from the Legion. However, following a massacre which he was responsible for supplying to the ones that caused it, the weapons were traced back to Tyrell and given a life sentence.
But Tyrell knew someone who was in an organization for mercenaries who could get him out of prison. After Umbrella bartered with the French for Tyrell's freedom, they enlisted him in their Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service, working as a monitor and paid extra for intelligence gathering.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis[]
In September 1998, when Umbrella became concerned about the T-Virus spreading through Raccoon City, they trained their soldiers to handle the situation. On September 25, the virus infected the city's water and started an outbreak. The following day, the U.B.C.S. was sent by Umbrella to take care of the situation. Umbrella gave additional orders to the observers to wipe out any evidence that can be traced back to the corporation.
In the early hours of October 1, Patrick headed to Raccoon General Hospital to find their T-Virus vaccine research and destroy it. But he was attacked by Nicholai Ginovaef, another observer who wanted credit for destroying any evidence of the vaccine research. Carlos Oliveira confronted Nicholai, who tells him he was one of the "supervisors" and attempts to kill the latter. However, this allowed Tyrell to pull the pin of his grenade to kill Nicholai along with himself. But fails when Nicholai quickly jumps out the window and survive the fall.
In an alternate death, if Carlos goes into the basement before going to level 4F, Tyrell points his gun at Carlos and warns him about the traitor that shot him. After his remark, Tyrell opens a safe, but revealed to be a booty-trapped planned by Nicholai and kills Tyrell by the explosion.
