The U.S. Avenger is a secondary antagonist from the DreamWorks Animation video game Monsters vs. Aliens, which is based on the 2009 DreamWorks Animation film of the same name.

It's a giant robot that's used in Area Fifty-Something, which is encountered by Susan Murphy/Ginormica.

Personality

The U.S. Avenger is a giant robot used by the people that work at Area Fifty-Something. It's used as the ultimate weapon and last resort to capture monsters doing jail breaks trying to escape the Area Fifty-Something Prison Facility, to prevent them from escaping the prison, as General W.R. Monger never wants his monsters to ever leave the place.

The Avenger travels at impressive speeds despite it's huge size and it's weight over rough terrain enough to capture Susan Murphy/Ginormica to lock her up back in her jail cell.

It serves as the first boss in the game, where it chases Susan who roller skates down the Area-Fifty-Something road, while the Missing Link goes inside it where he defeats it by activating it's self destruct mechanism with his leap attack.

Appearance

The U.S. Avenger is a giant black and yellow humanoid robot that runs on tank tracks.

Biography

When Susan Murphy/Ginormica starts trying to escape Area Fifty-Something, a De Trop alerts General W.R. Monger that there's a stage four breach. So General Monger orders his soldiers to release the U.S. Avenger, in determine to stop and capture Susan so she'll fail to escape the facility.

When Susan gets her feet into two jeeps and starts roller skating with them, the Avenger first appears as it gets ready to capture Susan to stop her from jail breaking. The Avenger detects her and uses it's hands and punches through a part of the road Susan roller skates down. When it shows up from behind her, the Avenger fires it's missiles at Susan as it chases her, but she manages to get away.

As the Avenger continues to chase after Susan to capture her, The Missing Link falls onto the robot. While on the Avenger, Link fights and defeats smaller robots on it and Dr. Cockroach shows him the Avenger's automatic missile turret looks like it's routed through a control panel. Link then uses the control panel to shoot missiles at big red fuel tanks to destroy them and more small robots. As Link goes through the Avenger, he uses more control panels to fire missiles against a car rack to use it as a bridge, destroy more fuel tanks to create paths and defeat more robots. After, making his way across the Avenger's tank tracks and defeats a lot of the smaller robots, Link goes through as door that should take him up through the body of the robot.

As Susan continues to roller skate her way down the Area-Fifty Something road, the Avenger keeps trying to get her by using it's hands to punch through some parts of the road Susan roller skates down, using it's arms that she slides under, and it's lasers it fires from it's hands to try to zap her which she either slides under or jumps over.

As Link was inside the Avenger, he goes up an elevator where he fights and defeats more robots with jump and stomp attacks. When the elevator with Link reaches the top floor, Dr. Cockroach tells Link he's in the robot's chest and he'll have to make his way to it's arm. So Link makes his way to the Avenger's arm while fighting and defeating more small robots and destroying more of it's missile launchers. Link then gets to and pushes and big blue button, which activates a bridge that slides out of the side of the robot. Link then jumps off the edge of the bridge and grabs onto the Avenger's arm.

As Susan keeps on roller skating down the road, the Avenger tries again to zap Susan with it's lasers, but she able to jump over and slide under them. She then enters a round room where she skates down a circular road, where the Avenger emerges out from the middle. The Avenger then tries to get her by firing it's lasers from it's hands. It sometimes spins while firing it's lasers which makes Susan have to crouch down to avoid them, and firing both a high one and low one for Susan to both jump over and slide under. It then activates it's missile launcher and fire missiles at her, but Susan manages to kick and grab and throw each of the missiles, making them hit the Avenger damaging it. After Susan keeps on dodging the Avenger's lasers and makes many missiles it fires at her hit it getting it damaged, the Avenger goes back down and Susan skates out of the round room, but the robot still continues to go after her.

On the Avenger's arm, Link had to access the route to the robot's main control room, but he'll have to disconnect the hand first. First, Link makes the Avenger's left hand fall off by unscrewing giant bolts, then a particle beam weapon on the Avenger's arm starts firing at Link to try to prevent him from reaching the control room. As Link makes his way up the arm, he destroys other weapons on it and defeats more small robots along the way. When Link reaches the particle beam weapon, he unscrews it making it fall off the Avenger's arm. Link then encounters some weapons on the robot protected by force fields. So Link unscrews giant screws to deactivate the wires that power them. He then deactivates the fore fields and manages to destroy those weapons, and the Avenger's left arm falls off from Link unscrewing it as well. Link then makes his way into the Avenger's head.

When inside the Avenger's head, Link fights an defeats more small robots. Link then activates switching controls which activate a platform train to get it to start moving so he can cross an abyss. After crossing the abyss, Link finally makes it to the Avenger's control room so he can stop the robot. When Link arrives in the control room, a man piloting the robot was there trying to find the monsters. Link then says hi to the man, causing him to freak out and jump and parachute out of the Avenger's control room. Link then does his leap attack and pushes all three big red buttons in the control room all together, activating the Avenger's self destruct mechanism. After activating it's self destruct mechanism, the Avenger starts shaking up as it's about to blow up while it was still chasing after Susan. Link then jumps out of the control room and the Avenger explodes.

After the Avenger is defeated, Dr. Cockroach declares Plan F to be a success and Susan, Link, Dr. Cockroach, B.O.B. and Insectosaurus think they were finally getting out of Area Fifty-Something. But as the monsters arrive the escape hatch, when the doors open, the monsters get surrounded by General Monger and his army soldiers and they capture the monsters, succeeding to stop them from jail breaking. The monsters then get locked back up in their jail cells, much to their sadness as General Monger tells them they're "home to stay."

However, as soon as Gallaxhar's Robot Probe started attacking San Francisco (just like in the movie), General Monger finally allows the monsters to leave Area Fifty-Something, as he decided to let them fight and defeat it to save the city.
