SCP-UBU is a major antagonist in the SCP Foundation series. It is a powerful creature originating from Corbenic who upon being granted power by its deity goes to Earth and uses its powers to torture all of humanity for eternity for its own childish enjoyment. This causes former O5-11, Dr. Laurence Michaud, to go on a personal vendetta against UBU, using various anomalies at his disposal to reset reality countless times in an attempt to defeat the creature before planning to endlessly torture it as payback.
UBU is the main antagonist in the SCP-001 (D. Ulysses Foole's Proposal).
UBU was one of the weaker members of the pantagruel, a species native to the afterlife dimension of Corbenic. They inhabited the canyons south of Outer Saklovai where they were looked over by their deity Nåzhdak who had some type of obsession with them. UBU had managed to gain his deity's favor and was sent to Earth where Nåzhdak proceeded to force immortality on all of humanity and cut all ties Earth had with other dimensions in order to keep them trapped forever at the mercy of UBU.
Rampaging across the Earth[]
UBU manifested itself in Kangaatsiaq, Greenland, on May 12th, 2588, which resulted in an explosion that destroyed all of the town. During the chaos over all of humanity becoming immortal, UBU made its way to St. John's, Newfoundland, where it proceeded to go on a two-year rampage. During that time, Mobile Task Force Nu-7 went to engage with the creature, but after two years of being continuously mutilated the MTF abandoned the mission, allowing UBU to get away. The SCP Foundation and the Global Occult Coalition then formed Project Beluga as a joint effort to neutralize UBU, but to no avail. UBU went to Columbus, Ohio, where it spent the year digging a two-kilometer deep hole at the center of city and proceeded to gather 2.9 million people to throw into the hole before repeatedly leaping into the upper stratosphere and stomping into them, squeezing from their still living bodies all bodily fluids which it drank. UBU eventually grew tired of this and left to Lake Erie where it assaulted several cargo ships and proceeding to throw twenty ships out of Earth's gravitational pull, two of which landed on the Moon.
In the year 2670, the Foundation had finally managed to contain UBU at Site-59, only for it to breach containment immediately. Three years later it proceeded to violate the Statue of Liberty for 73 days. The following year, the Foundation, the GOC, NATO powers, the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China signed the Schenectady Agreement which prohibited anymore nuclear attacks on UBU as it was causing environmental damage. However, shortly after the signing, UBU broke into the ceremony and proceeded to use a few lengths of woven rebar and fifteen still-living foreign dignitaries to make a bead necklace. Following that, UBU assaulted Site-19, interrupting one of SCP-682's termination attempts by going through the ceiling and crushing on top of SCP-AFF, a woman capable of using her voice to turn living matter into stone who was being used on 682. Seemingly recognizing each other, UBU insulted the other monster in its native language before slapping it, causing 682 to be enveloped by a light which caused it to dissolve into toxic bodily fluids that UBU proceeded to bathe in, while eating SCP-AFF's head before she could regenerate and after finding her microphone it screamed into it for twenty minutes. In the year 2685, UBU broke into Armed Containment Area-179 where it swallowed SCP-2317 whole, and in the following year it destroyed SCP-2000.
As a result of UBU's rampage and the immortality it forced upon humanity, in the year 2750 former film star Nash De Groot published a book titled "the Zonk Manifesto" which urged readers to enter an eternal coma as a last ditch attempt at finding peace, garnering a mass following known as "The International Zonk". In the year 2790, after a lengthy battle with Project Beluga in China, UBU grew bored and retreated into the Bay of Bengal where it remained for three years while causing continual underwater seismic events. UBU then encountered SCP-3000 which it flung from the ocean causing it to land on Indian soil, destroying several cities. UBU then spent the week pointing and hysterically laughing at SCP-3000 at which point it grabbed its tail and began dragging it across Asia, Bering Strait and Alaska until arriving on the eastern coast of Brazil. There UBU dragged SCP-3000 into the ocean again and used it to tie it around SCP-169's neck, causing the latter to emerge. UBU fought SCP-169 for hundreds of years before killing it in 3020 the same way it killed 682. In the aftermath which left Earth's completely underwater, UBU became inactive for around ten years, leaving the remnants of the Foundation to regroup on SCPS Naismith which contained the last 140 humans as the rest of humanity had joined the International Zonk and used anomalous means to enter into coma, leaving their bodies to form massive floating piles. UBU eventually became active once again and began making its way to the nearest pile of comatose bodies named New Zonkland.
Fighting Michaud[]
While UBU went to New Zonkland, the O5 Council held a meeting on what to do. Seeing that this would go nowhere, O5-11, Dr. Laurence Michaud, decided to leave SCPS Naismith and go to another Foundation ship named the SCPS Corncrake which contained the last few remaining anomalies. Michaud had a personal hatred towards UBU as in the early beginning of its rampages, UBU impaled Michaud's wife on a broom handle, ripped his clothes off and after opening a pool of sewage in the street it put Michaud there where it washed him in gray water and rubbed his screaming wife all over him like a scrubbing brush, while trying to whistle a bathtub song. Upon arriving there, Michaud planned to use a Prometheus Labs time machine to go back in time and prevent UBU from plaguing Earth with the usage of other anomalies. However, as he was about to embark on his journey, UBU suddenly arrived to attack him. Thankfully, SCP-076-2 who was also present aboard Corncrake fought UBU in order to buy Michaud time to operate the time machine. UBU easily killed 076-2, but it was enough for Michaud's time machine to work and go back in time, going to 11,970 BCE and because of the nature of the time machine the current timeline was destroyed and replaced by a new one created by Michaud.
In the new timeline, Michaud, having utilized some of the anomalies to create clones of himself and spread his consciousness to the machine's computer and to his clones, attempted to gain the assistance of the Foundation in stopping UBU, but was rebuffed and so he decided to take matters into his own hands. He went back in time again to gain ownership of Kangaatsiaq, Greenland, to turn it into a mousetrap comprised of powerful weaponry and SCPs with the aim of killing UBU the moment it arrived, but it failed as UBU was unharmed. In the fourth timeline, Michaud contacted SCP-2803-A to convince it to merge with SCP-169 and fight UBU. The two fought for centuries until 2992, at which point UBU grew bored and killed the amalgamation the same way it did previously. In the 273rd timeline, Michaud attempted to teleport the entire continent of Greenland to an alternate dimension shortly after UBU manifested itself, but after doing so UBU simply manifested itself again on the same place. In the 530th timeline, Michaud took control off all of the ancient Church of the Broken God for the purpose of constructing a powerful mecha which possessed weaponry that could be used to kill UBU. Michaud piloting the mecha attempted to fight UBU, but during the battle UBU revealed that it was the same one from the original timeline, having retained its memories of the previous timelines, and then proceeded to destroy the mecha, much to Michaud's dismay.
In the 675th timeline, Michaud crashed the Moon into Earth destroying the planet as another attempt to kill UBU, but because he was unable to ascertain its death due to the debris being too dense Michaud again went back in time as he was filled with so much hatred that he didn't care for nothing else other than making UBU suffer. In the few ensuing timelines, Michaud began wasting his time by creating various methods to punish UBU and resetting the timeline before UBU even manifested.
Defeat[]
Michaud eventually decided to trap UBU inside his own pocket dimension where he had full control and planned to torture UBU for infinity in a similar manner it did with him. However, in the current timeline in the year 2022, after Michaud explained to Foundation Researcher Aaron Gualtieri what was going on, Gualtieri decided to kill himself which caused him to be transported to Corbenic where he told the situation to the Three Moons Initiative. The Initiative realizing with what they were dealing with, had two of their agents on Earth Tamino and Matapang, accompanied by instances of SCP-4922 and SCP-5289, summon UBU prematurely before stabbing it with a magical wooden stick as part of a ritual to kill it, turning UBU into a pile of salt. With UBU now gone, the Initiative explained to the Foundation what the creature was and provided them with instructions on the banishment ritual if another members of the pantagruel were to appear. Despite UBU's defeat which ensured Earth life to continue as normal in the future, Michaud was left completely devastated as he had wished to torture it after all this time but the chance of finally getting back at his archnemesis was now taken away.
Appearance[]
UBU appeared as an obese, androgynous humanoid with hairless pure white skin that resembled that of a dolphin or a small whale, specifically a beluga whale. It stood 4.3 meters in height and presumably weighed around 15,399 kilograms. It possessed no eyes, ears and nostrils, despite being perfectly capable of seeing, hearing and smelling, and only possessed a 5-meter-wide mouth with a long prehensile tongue. It also possessed a cloaca for excreting waste.
Personality[]
UBU is shown to be extremely sadistic in a somewhat childish manner. It barely understood speech of any language, only laughing, screaming and intrigued babbling. After gaining its deity's favor it went to Earth for the sole purpose of causing as much destruction and suffering as possible just for its own cruelty and selfish gratification. Despite attacking anything indiscriminately, it took a twisted joy in assaulting and devouring humans in populated areas. While committing violence, it took an infantile and curious approach to it as it would often play with its victims for long hours. UBU didn't restrict itself to only humans as it assaulted animals as well, as shown when it impaled a narwhal with a Danish stop sign. It appears to be quite dumb as once chewed off its own left thumb simply out of curiosity, causing it to scream and lash out for a week before crying for a month. It also appears to be a pervert as when coming across the Statue of Liberty, it proceeded to rub its crotch for more than two months while howling out of excitement, although it is highly likely that it did so to induce disgust to others as it lacked genitalia. As Michaud reset the timeline countless times in order to find ways to defeat it, UBU just laughed it off and mocked his attempts at defeating it, even taunting him by singing the bath song it sang the first time they met.
Powers and Abilities[]
UBU was one of the smaller and weaker members of the pantagruel, scientifically known as Gargantuanovichensis ferox. The pantagruel were considered merely nuisances in Corbenic, but had a habit of accessing "jump points" in the forbidden prefectures to cause mischief in other dimensions which lacked their natural enemies. UBU had gained the favor of its deity the Second Prince NÅZHDAK to assist it in going to Earth to torture all of the planet's living beings as part of the Rite of World-Sealing and the Eternal Hunt.
While on Earth, UBU proved to be an indestructible powerful creature. It was capable of immense strength, speed and reality warping which it could evoke through screaming and slapping. Seemingly nothing could destroy it, not even blunt force trauma, sustained heavy-caliber machine gun fire, temperatures of 1,600 Kelvin, sustained artillery fire, a direct energy discharge from an SCP, several simultaneous direct nuclear strikes, and everything that Michaud had put against it. The only thing that could hurt UBU was itself as shown when it chewed off one of its thumbs which needed thirty years and fourteen days to fully regenerate.
UBU was capable of defeating several other SCPs such as SCP-682 and SCP-169 by simply slapping them which caused them to melt into toxic bodily fluids (with 682 not recovering and remaining dead), devouring SCP-2317, beating SCP-3000, tying SCP-2845's neck in a knot and absolutely destroying SCP-076-2 without much effort. UBU was also shown to be immune to the temporal alterations done by Michaud, as it remembered its previous encounters with him every time he reset the timeline.
The only thing that allowed UBU to finally be defeated was a ritual created by some local tribes in proximity to the pantagruel which served to definitely kill them. This ritual comprised of piercing it with a long pointed wood carved with the word "CLEANSING" in any language and "NAI FADUZH JALAKÅRA" in Upper Arcane. After this ritual was executed on UBU he was easily killed at last.

Trivia[]
The author, daveyoufool, has stated that UBU was based off Ubu Roi from the stage play of the same name, and not off Majin Buu. UBU's species was also named after the fictional giant of the same name from the novels Gargantua and Pantagruel.
UBU resembling a beluga whale might be a reference to SCP-682's original image which was of a rotting carcass of a beluga whale.
Although it is apparently genderless, Michaud referred to UBU as a male.
