I, Howard Brand, the Last Human, the Beast of the Apocalypse, have summoned thee Ugh-Zan, O great warlock, O mightiest servant of Tah-Um, to present thee with a gift for the One Infinite!
~ Howard Brand presenting his gifts to Ugh-Zan VI.

Ugh-Zan VI is the final boss of Serious Sam 4.

He is the sixth incarnation of the Ugh-Zan dynasty and as such one of Mental's most powerful servants, being in charge of protecting the massive portal built in Tunguska that Mental's Horde uses to transport their troops en masse onto Earth.

Appearance[]

As one of the warlock giants Ugh-Zan VI towers far above many of Mental's other servants, rivaled only by other members of the Ugh-Zan dynasty. Unlike them however, Ugh-Zan VI does not possess the four arms typical of the dynasty and does not utilize any weaponry besides his own magical abilities and nine metal rods placed all over his body, which allow him to rapidly heal his wounds. His mouth completely lacks lips and two massive horns with glowing red cracks adorn his skull. He wears a black mask and armor made from heavy metal plating and gold trimming.

Biography[]

The Earth Defense Force first learned of Ugh-Zan VI's existence through an informant from within the Horde, who told of a massive humanoid likely related to General Ugh-Zan IV and Ugh-Zan V, the latter of which was obliterated in a battle in Oslo, Norway. General Brand dismissed the claim, but it soon turned out that he was indeed real.

After General Brand betrayed the EDF and took the false Holy Grail that they had wanted to use as a weapon against Mental for himself, Sam pursued Brand to Tunguska where the EDF was mounting a massive assault on the superportal vital to Lord Achriman's invasion of Earth. Brand and Sam both participated on opposite sides of the battle, though Brand quickly overpowered Sam when he noticed him on the field. Brand then summoned Ugh-Zan VI and presented both Sam Stone and the false Grail as an offering to Mental, wanting to form an alliance with him. Once he was finished talking, Ugh-Zan VI took a confused look at Brand and then swiftly rejected his offer by flicking him and his prizes off of his hand. Sam awoke in the midst of the battlefield in front of the portal and immediately began fighting the mighty warlock.

Defeating Ugh-Zan VI proved to be a difficult task, as nine conductive rods placed around his body allowed him to heal any wounds Sam and the EDF could inflict on him. Sam's friends dropped C4, a grappling hook and a parachute onto the field, with which Sam climbed onto Ugh-Zan VI's body to blow up the rods while fighting off Octanian soldiers that flew in on drones to support the warlock. Once all nine rods were destroyed, the EDF provided Sam with a large mech to fight Ugh-Zan VI one on one. After a fierce battle Ugh-Zan VI fell to his knees, but EDF scientist Kiesel warned that if they don't finish him off somehow he will simply rise again and continue his attack.

Ugh-Zan VI death

Ugh-Zan VI's death.

Sam had an idea and grabbed the false Grail, punching off the golden snake coiled around it that had bitten and transformed Brand into a monster. This caused the false Grail to become unstable, which Sam threw into Ugh-Zan VI's mouth via helicopter. The energy released by the exploding Grail caused his head to be blown into pieces, killing the giant and falling over. The EDF destroyed the portal shortly after by sending a nuke with Brand attached through it.
