~ Uncle Fu to the GTA protagonist. |
Uncle Fu is a supporting antagonist in the original Grand Theft Auto.
He is voiced by Brian Lawson.
History[]
Past[]
According to local legends and the Vice City Police Department Database, Uncle Fu was born in the year 1867, making him 130 years old by the year 1997. Uncle Fu is also responsible for the fall of the Tang Dynasty. According to one of his contacts, Uncle Fu's grandmother has been deceased since at least 1897.
Grand Theft Auto[]
Uncle Fu has a handful of missions for the player, including stealing Pu Ling's car to spray paint it anything other than red as he believes it's bad luck, murdering his nephew No Chin and his friends for being drunk and shaming their family, killing a prisoner before one of his own men can and then killing a former employee of his, and finally murdering his rivals Chow Yun Thin and Don Traegeri.
After completing all of his missions, the player is allowed to meet Uncle Fu in person where he thanks them for honoring his family and tells the player they have his gratitude.
Afterwards, it's unknown as to what happened to Uncle Fu, such as whether or not he's still alive or still in business. There's no mention of him or his gang in subsequent titles, though it's possible he's gone into hiding, passed away due to old age, or was murdered by rival gang members.
Trivia[]
- Uncle Fu is possibly the oldest character in the entire Grand Theft Auto franchise. Granted, there's no definitive proof of his age since there is no known birth certificate; however, given his possible ties to witchcraft, he could be using magic to keep himself alive. In real life, the Tang dynasty existed from the year 705 to 763. If Uncle Fu truly is responsible for it's collapse, that would make him over 1,234 years old. However, given the fact he has a young nephew, Fu's age is unclear.
