Uranda is the main antagonist of the anime movie Doraemon: Nobita and the Windmasters. He is the ancient leader of the Storm Tribe who created the dragon Mafuga to rule the world. His soul was sealed inside a tomb after Mafuga's defeat, but was revived by Dr. Storm. Ever since then, Uranda continues to lead the Storm Tribe whilst plotting to revive Mafuga to continue his ancient plan.
He was voiced by the late Kiyoshi Kobayashi.
Appearance[]
Uranda is an old, lanky man with long, gray beard, sulken eyes and long, curved eyebrows. He wears the Storm Tribe's uniform with a hat with green, black and yellow chevron pattern and deer-like horns, likely an accessory reserved for the tribe's leader. On the horns, there are noticeable decorations.
After becoming a spirit, Uranda looks like a white and transparent version of his living self. His eyes now glow red and it's a telltale sign whenever he possesses someone, such as the wolf and Suneo.
Personality[]
Uranda is a man consumed by his hunger for power, desiring to conquer the world through Mafuga. He despises the Wind Tribe, considering their pacifist ways inferior. However, at the same time, he doesn't care about the Storm Tribe either, having only used them to further his own ends. Uranda is also especially sadistic, not caring at all about Fuuko's suffering at his hands and constantly taunting the heroes about their impending dooms at the hands of either him or Mafuga.
A cunning and sinister person, Uranda is aware of Storm's treachery the entire time, and plots to kill the latter once his work is done. Unfortunately for Uranda however, his arrogance still blinds him, as Storm manages to overthrow him first and take over his commandership over Mafuga for himself.
History[]
Past[]
Long ago, Uranda was the leader of the Storm Tribe. Out of desire to control the world, he created the dragon Mafuga which was incredibly powerful that it destroyed lands. Eventually, the hero Noajin defeated Mafuga and Uranda, separated the dragon into three eggs: The orange one (Fuuko), the blue one (Gorado), and the red one, the last of which contained Mafuga's essence. The former two were sealed with Uranda, while the third one was sealed inside Noajin's sword. Over the generations, the story of Mafuga has become a legend to the Wind Tribe.
One night, the Storm Tribe, led by Storm discovered Uranda's tomb and opened it, seeking treasures inside. However, this unleashed Uranda, who then went on to possess a wolf and plot his world domination once again.
Doraemon: Nobita and the Windmasters[]
After Doraemon, Nobita and their friends are back from the Wind Village, Uranda follows them to their world through the Dokodemo Door and possesses Suneo. Under the guise of Suneo, he asks Doraemon for the door, which is in truth to capture Fuuko And Gorado, and successfully captures Gorado that night. Afterwards, he returns to lead the Storm Tribe and orders them to carry out his next stage of the plan: capture Fuuko. The tribe successfully capture her while Storm steals Doraemon's pocket. However, that night, Nobita invades the Storm Tribe and steals Fuuko back.
Later on, at the Southern Island, Doraemon and Jaian try to stop Uranda from finding the red egg, but are captured instead. Uranda then escapes from Suneo's body and cites the chant to release Mafuga's spirit, allowing it to merge back with Fuuko and Gorado and reforming into the deadly dragon, ready for him to conquer the world. However by then, Storm reveals himself to be an archaeologist and wanted criminal from the 22nd century and absorbs Uranda into a 4-Dimensional Pet Bottle, before taking control of Mafuga himself.
Fuuko would later escape Mafuga and sacrifice herself to destroy the dragon, and Storm would then be captured by the Time Patrol, leaving Uranda's goals for conquest and power in vain.

Trivia[]
- Despite being the main antagonist, Uranda is overthrown by Storm in the climax. However, even then, he is still responsible for the movie's events, as not only did he create Mafuga, but it was due to learning of Mafuga's existence that Storm travelled back in time to begin with.
- Uranda is the third main villain of a Doraemon feature film to desire of controlling a giant dragon for his own ends, following Mr. Cash and Commander Seagrid. Unlike the other two however, he has never been betrayed by his dragon in any way (Mr. Cash is unwittingly swallowed by Leviathan alongside Doraemon while Seagrid is knocked unconscious by Phoenixia), but rather by his own subordinate, Storm.
