Ursula is a minor character in the 2013 video game, Grand Theft Auto V. She is an extremely unstable and homicidal hitchhiker who is seen in a random event, which can be performed with Franklin Clinton or Trevor Philips.
She was voiced by Sarah Sirota.
Biography[]
Ursula's birthdate is unknown, but she was presumably born in the 80s or early 90s as she is still a young woman during the events of GTA V. She grew up with a seemingly absent father and a very abusive mother. According to Ursula, her mother would badly abuse her as a child by keeping her locked up in the basement, shaving her head and forcing her to dress and act like a boy.
Around 2012 or 2013, Ursula's mother died (it is implied that Ursula had killed her), with Ursula keeping a lock of her hair in her backpack. Around this time, Ursula also killed her gardener, seemingly by pushing him off one of the cliffs near her home, as she states that he "got sick and fell off a cliff". She also claims to have murdered another man who had picked her up hitchhiking a few weeks before the protagonist found her. She also makes comments implying that she's killed numerous animals.
While travelling along North Calafia Way near Mount Chiliad, she can be picked up as a hitchhiker by either Franklin Clinton or Trevor Philips, where she asks them to drive her back to her home while telling them about her troubled past. Her house is located in an isolated spot along the coastline, near the base of Mount Gordo. After she is dropped off, she becomes a booty call contact despite the protagonist's distaste towards her. When playing as Trevor, the player has the option of driving her to the Altruist Cult camp for a reward of $1,000, where she is presumably killed and cannibalised by the cult members.
Personality[]
Upon first appearance, Ursula seems to be a fairly average and normal woman. However, upon conversing with her it quickly becomes apparent that she's highly unstable and potentially dangerous, with her becoming increasingly creepy and unhinged in her mannerisms. She begins to rant about various bizarre and strange topics, as well as making constant references and allusions to her committing many depraved acts such as animal cruelty, killings and murders. She also at times speaks in a very childlike manner with some of the phrases and insults she uses, for example calling someone a "dummy-dummy-dumb-dumb".
Ursula seems to be somewhat out of touch with reality and has some very strange notions, for example believing that birds singing around her are trying to taunt her, and says that she tries to poison them for doing this. She is also quite obsessive, keeping clippings of her deceased mother's hair in her backpack, has a strong fixation around harming and killing things, and quickly becomes sexually obsessive of the protagonist, wanting to perform erotic acts with them.
Trivia[]
- If the protagonist meets her for a Booty Call, the weather will always be set to stormy rain after he leaves her house. It's unknown if this is intentional or a glitch, but given Ursula's dark and creepy nature it may be intentional.
- It's possible that she uses meat cleavers as a weapon of choice in some of her murders, as two of them can be seen lodged into the wall by the front door of her house.
