~ Urumi's obsession for control (in the manga). |
Urumi Akamaki (named Urumi Aramaki in the manga) is a minor antagonist in the Netflix series Alice in Borderland, based on the manga of the same name. She participates in the Jack of Hearts game and quickly manipulates a whole group to do her bidding.
She was portrayed by Aina Yamada. In the English dub, she was voiced by Angela Galuppo.
Personality[]
Urumi portrays herself as overly cutesy and bubbly. While appearing very friendly and welcoming, she ultimately just uses people to help herself. She is very confident and charismatic and can thus quickly gain trust and lead people to follow her. She has no qualms about killing people and even when dooming people to their deaths, keeps up her cutesy character.
In the manga, Urumi admits that she enjoys dominating others so much and the people in the Jack of Hearts game are so easy to control that she could simply forget about finding The Jack and just use this chance to entertain herself by making everyone work for her as her puppets.
Biography[]
Urumi was in Shibuya when a meteor hit the area. This sent her to the Borderlands.
She joined the Jack of Hearts game. Upon hearing the rules, she suggested forming groups as to make sure no one can lie. Quickly she became the de facto leader of that group and everyone listened to her. Urumi later used this to convince the whole group to lie to another guy, so he would get killed. She stated she was sure that he was The Jack, but likely she simply cared about thinning the numbers. Nobody dared to stand up against her, so they went along with it.
Urumi continued telling the group her new suspects and convincing them to lie to that person. She enjoyed the domination over the group so much, that she almost started to forget about uncovering The Jack. Her group became smaller and smaller, and eventually a guy in her group decided that she is too dangerous. He briefly tried to lie to her but then gave up on doing it. However, Urumi noticed him stuttering and knew he was too dangerous to keep around.
She told the other two remaining players of her group that they would kill the guy who tried to lie to her next, but the guy also talked to the two players and said that they should get rid of Urumi. Not knowing who to trust, the two others decided that both Urumi and the guy are dangerous. They lied to the guy and Urumi about their suits to get rid of them. Urumi was so certain about her control over the others, that she didn't doubt them for a second. She confidently yelled out the suit that they told her. However, it was wrong, so her collar exploded and she died instantly.
