Usean Rebel Forces are an organization that appears as the main antagonists of the video game Ace Combat 2 and its remake Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, as well as overarching antagonists of Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies. They were formed by members of various Usean countries' armies who sought to take control of the continent and prevent its nations from signing a treaty with Osea.

Background[]
In the aftermath of the Belkan War, which saw the superpowers of Osea and Yuktobania become allies, countries of the Usean continent sought protection from them, and their governments agreed to create a military alliance known as the Usean Allied Forces. However, a number of governments of the southern countries pursued an alliance with Osea, causing an outrage among the northern countries.
Coup d'etat[]
Fearing that an alliance with Osea would lead to foreign military presence and loss of their mining rights, a number of radical military officials staged a continent-scale rebellion, forming Usean Rebel Forces. Allied Forces were unable to hold them off, and in fact some of their members defected to the rebels. This forced them to seek assistance from the mercenary Scarface Squadron and its prominent member Phoenix, who had quelled the Skully Islands insurrection a couple of years earlier. During the conflict, the rebel forces were assisted several times by the Zone of Endless AI, although nobody knew where it came from and what its motivation was. Thanks to the Scarface Squadron's efforts, the rebels began losing territory and were pushed eastward. Operation "Fighter's Honor" culminated in the assault on the rebels' makeshift capital in the city of St. Ark, which was captured by Usean Allied Forces.
A number of rebel officers, however, escaped and launched a cruise missile at St. Ark from their Dragonet submarine. Phoenix intercepted and destroyed the missile before it could hit the city, but the remnants of the enemy forces, led by the escaped officers, retreated to Fortress Intolerance in North Point. They intended to launch a ballistic misisle at Yuktobania, cause a global war to erupt and escape in the ensuing chaos. As they were preparing for the launch, however, Phoenix attacked their stronghold and caused the missile detonate before the launch, causing great damage to the fortress. All surviving rebels were subsequently captured by the Usean Allied Forces, ending their coup.
