~ How to avoid lack of characterization 101. |
Alright, I'm back at it, and here we are, another version of Knull who qualifies.
Copied from the original page since I wrote it myself.
What's the work?[]
Spider-Man 2017 is an animated series featuring the titular superhero Spider-Man fighting against the threats of villains such as Doctor Octopus and Venom as well as protecting New York. This series takes place in the alternate universe of Marvel's Disney animation era.
Who's the candidate?[]
Knull is the overarching antagonist of the series. He is based on his Marvel counterpart, who is a warlord spreading the darkness across the universe.
What has he done?[]
Not much is known about Knull, but according to Venom, who was possessing a host, he was the darkness wanting to grow his influence anywhere he sees. After seeing the Celestials who wanted to bring light to the universe, he began to oppose them, creating weapons named Klyntar, later Symbiotes, to help him in combats. The battle began, with Knull remained victorious. The more celestials opposing him, the more darkness he spreads in space. After the war was over, he abandoned his weapons, and left them in their solitude. This would make him responsible for the events of the series.
What happened to him next is unknown. However, after years, the symbiotes were gathered by a group of aliens who gained the four symbiotes. They were All-Black, Scream, Scorn, and Mania. All-Black bonded with the explorer, while the rest bonded with three more aliens. They reproduced asexually and formed their new populace to live in peace with their hosts.
That being said, while symbiotes expanded themselves to spread their legacy, but one alien rejected and successfully killed one of the sister. The remaining three were enranged, and they decided to use the corpse of the fallen sister to create Venom and World-Killer, making Knull responsible for the destruction. Everything Venom and others did were responsible by him.
Mitigating Factors?[]
Seems like there's none. You can say that he lacked characterization, however, he has a line of dialogue, proving his selfishness and eventually allowed him to be on the status.
And also, there is no indications that he is made of evil, considering that he is just like his comic book counterpart, due to him being associated with more of the void.
Heinous standard?[]
Yeah, mass murder is once again common in the series, but his methods and influence helped him stands out. He willingly let the darkness of his spread across, and not to mention, he is the overarching antagonist, so he is responsible for everything. Well, considering screen time, he has much less than them and seems like he only has himself and a few Klyntars so that makes him has lower resources than some of the villains.
Verdict?[]
I'd say yes, but it's up to you.
