Finally, I got into the 2010 Marvel Animated Universe, and of course, there are a lot of candidates that haven’t been proposed. Let’s start with Red Skull.
What’s the work?
Avengers Assemble is an animated series featuring the Avengers protecting the world from dangerous threats while recruiting new members. The series lasted for five seasons, and has a loose continuity with Ultimate Spider-Man, Hulk and The Agents of SMASH, and Guardians of the galaxy.
Who is the candidate?
Red Skull is the main antagonist of season one, the secondary antagonist of season 2, and the minor antagonist of season 4, and a guest antagonist of Season 4 of Hulk and The Agents of SMASH. He is the former leader of his Cabal, the former servant of Thanos, and currently a super villain.
What has he done?
In the first episode, Red Skull attempted to swap his body with Captain America’s due to his unhealthy conditions. After his plans failed, he stole the suit from Iron Man and later dubbed himself as the Iron Skull.
In the next episode, Red Skull ordered MODOK to implant robots that makes the Avengers fight against each other. He also planted a bomb that could blow up the old Avengers facility and New York as well.
Back at his submarine, he plotted to form his organization called the Cabal to fight off the avengers, including Dracula, Attuma, and even a PE potential Hyperion.
Red Skull later have his men infecting most of the Avengers into Hulk-like beings.
Later on, he plotted to wield the power of the Space Stone aka Tesseract to become a god like being and deployed two missiles that can destroy two cities, forcing the avengers to save only one.
He planned to betray his allies by leading them to a fake portal that his minions planned to take over the universe. He revealed that with the Tesseract, he wanted to have the universe for himself.
Upon fusing with the Tesseract, he plotted to take over Earth and weakened the Avengers, his former cabal helped them to defeat the Cosmic Skull, and later he was imprisoned.
While Tony Stark was holding the time stone in a state of a child, Red Skull tried to kill him and retrieve the stone for Thanos.
While his plans of taking over the world continued, he posed a lesser threat in later seasons, he never subvert his villainy.
Migrating factors?
None, even his loyalty to Thanos was fake, because he wanted to take over the world for himself.
Heinous Standard?
It is indeed high, but Red Skull stands out for personal villainy and attempted mass murder three times. The rest of the villains done that like two or less, so that might make him heinous enough.
Other than most of the rest of the villains, he is not a generic take over the world villain due to his attempted mass murder.
Verdict?
A yes from me, but you decide.
