Well, it's been a while, I finally have another PE candidate in mind. And this time, I will walk you through it.
What's the work?[]
Seven Deadly Sins is a manga series adapted into anime, featuring the titular heroic organization stopping the threats of the holy war.
Who's the candidate?[]
The Supreme Deity is the overarching antagonist of the series, alongside the Demon King. She is the leader of her angelic army who sought to end the Holy War.
What has she done?[]
Ok, here we go.
The Supreme Deity first appeared as she created conflict between Angels and Demons alongside The Demon King. She viewed the conflict as a chess game, and cared for no one even after their deaths. When her daughter Elizabeth wanted to seek peace between the angels and demons, she and the Demon King put a curse on Elizabeth, forcing her to live and die repeatedly as Meliodas was cursed for eternal life. Not to mentioned she also wiped out Belialuin for the sake of her amusement.
After the defeat of the Demon King, the curse wasn't lifted enough, due to her presence is still there. Finishing to regain her powers, she controlled Dahlia and Dubs to massacre the Demon realm. When Meliodas, Elizabeth, Zeldris, and Gelda investigated the situation, the possessed pawns attacked the four. After the two were defeated, the Supreme Deity revealed herself to the public.
Before that, a swarm of brainwashed fairies and giants attacked Diane and king's wedding, which the Supremem Deity took credit for. They were planned to kill the innocents, which, without the heroes arrived, deaths would occured.
During the reveal, the Supreme Deity dismissed that the Holy War should be continued, and even if other convinced that the war will not resolve the balance. The Supreme Deity rejected the statement and tried to destroy everyone who opposed her one final time, but Zeldris and Meliodas finished her off with their combined technique Tyrant Killing.
To summarize, she cursed her own daughter, started the Holy War alongside the Demon King, indirectly massacred innocents, and tried to kill everyone in her way one final time.
Milgrating factor?[]
Just like the Demon King, one may argue that she has moral agency issues because she is a creation of Chaos. However, she is perfectly aware of what she is doing. She suffered from delusions, because she believe that the cause of the Holy War will be the balance of the world.
Is she a generic doomsday villain? Definitely not. She has a personality that makes her cared nothing but war, believing that others are inferior to her.
And finally, The Supreme Deity and The Demon King's relationships are unclear. So it's safe to say they never cared for each other.
Heinous standard?[]
Yep, the series really has a high heinous standard, consider the mass murder is common in the series. However, since the Supreme Deity is responsible for everything, she stands out alongside The Demon King. They are the heinous standards of the series, shaping both Meliodas and Elizabeth the way they are. Despite her less screentime, her crimes are just as horrible as The Demon King, so she definitely stand out due to her crimes being her own volition as well.
