Hello guys I’m back with another candidate from a Super Sentai movie that I’ve seen being talked about here and there. So I decided to propose him and another villain from the same work may be getting a proposal soon. Now let’s get to it.
This guy gives Bangray a run for his money.
What is the work?[]
The work is a show called Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger which is the 40th anniversary of the long running Super Sentai franchise by the Toei company. In this show a man called Yamato who is a zoologist who met other dimensional beings called Zyumen from Zyuland that is exactly like Earth but with Anthropomorphic animals as the residents. Through a device called the Link Cube five zyuman were stranded on Earth and teamed up with Yamato to survive. At the same time a group of genocidal thrill seekers known as Space Outlaws Deathgalien arrived on Earth for their blood game. Transforming into the Zyuohgers they need to defend against these recurring thrill games.
Now the movie our candidate is in is called Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger the Movie: The Heart Pounding Circus Panic. In this movie a circus from space comes to Earth and puts a show for families to come and watch. Although this was a ploy to kidnap children and harness their tears. Not to mention our heroes are captured besides Yamato (Zyuoh Eagle) and Mondo (Zyuoh World). Together they need to save everyone from the cruel ringmaster, which brings us to our candidate.
Who is he?[]
Domidoll is the ringmaster of the space circus that has the true intent of destroying planets using a machine powered by the despair of living beings. Before reaching Earth he had already made planets into circus balls and turned stars into rings of fire. While it is not known how he obtained his Zyuman crew he uses and abuses them to gather audiences that he can exploit for his own needs. Right before the main actions of the film Domidoll stole Moebas from Deathgalien as well as one of their fighters.
What has he done?[]
Some time ago Domidoll obtained Zyumen which he made into his circus crew that he forced to create an appealing circus that would attract the likes of children. He proceeded to go to many planets around the galaxy where he made them into balls of fire where he could put them through stars that he made a ring. It is implied that all the inhabitants were destroyed in these balls of fire. Not to mention that children like later seen with Earth were used to accomplish this.
When reaching Earth he first landed his circus that had Moeba soldiers that he stole from Deathgalien along with a fighter he stole from them. Then he proceeded to disguise his circus innocently enough with the power of Cube Condor. This way parents with their kids would come to watch his Zyumen perform and then he could suddenly kick the parents out. Fortunately for Domidoll that is exactly what happens and the children are stranded from their families.
To deal with the Zyuohgers who have the chance to foil his plans, he decides to eliminate them and mobilizes Cube Condor of which he had already stolen from the Zyuman Perle. Using this Domidoll overwhelmed the heroes and broke down their robo. Taking this opportunity Domidoll combines with Amu (Zyuoh Tiger) and Tusk (Zyuoh Elephant) to form Zyuoh Wild that is used to pummel them further before the rest except Yamato are kidnapped.
At this point the children were generating tears and very high despair as they were separated from their parents without any direction out. Although when the Zyuohgers came to the flying circus they wanted to bring joy to the children. Therefore they performed tricks and other things that brought smiles to everyone. Even the abused circus performers who wanted a circus to be run properly. He wouldn’t stand for his plans being broken so he brought fear once more.
This was done when he took Perle and started torturing her by choking her in front of every child. Eventually they were horrified and afraid once more. All while he then decided to begin inflicting abusive pain onto the Zyuohgers. At that point all the children were being broken mentally to produce the energy he desired. Although when he thought he had won, Yamato and Mondo Misao entered and beat down Domidoll.
The Zyuohgers freed all the young prisoners and they reunited with their parents. Enraged, Domidoll merged with his circus and decided to cause chaos out of spite. Perle managed to give them Cube Condor. This way he was destroyed by his former weapon, with everyone else cheering.
Heinous Standard[]
Zyuohger has a high heinous standard with the main antagonist being a genocidal thrill seeker. Although Ginis has dozens upon dozens of players and team leaders who entertain him. Not to mention his Gift machines that Domidoll doesn’t possess. All he has are Zyuman performers, Moebas, and a fighter. Yet he manages to kidnap children and break them all to the point of tears. This is a unique crime nobody else in the show commits.
Then there is Kubar who does use one child and psychologically hurts the heroes but he does have more resources than Domidoll. One could even argue that he breaks the children further than Kubar did to anyone. As for Azald, he is the standard brute who fights the heroes, and Naria is the standard right hand.
Finally, there is Bangray who puts Yamato into despair out of pure sadism and obsession. Now Bangray is a rogue and has less resources than Domidoll as he is a man with a hand who can create copies out of memory. Although Domidoll still stand out because he breaks children but still to Bangray’s credit his mind breaking has further plot relevance. So I’m not completely sure, but Domidoll seems to stand out enough.
Also, he doesn’t suffer off screen villainy because we see the planets he destroyed and even though we didn’t see any deaths from him, what he did on Earth seems to be what he did there as well. Making it more apparent than ambiguous.
Mitigating Factors[]
None. Domidoll wants to just see an act of making flaming planets and putting them into rings. That is the petty obsession that drives him, and to achieve that will kill countless beings in doing so. It is implied that he has killed countless children on this genocidal crusade while breaking them mentally. Not to mention on Earth he wasn’t afraid to kidnap countless of them from their parents.
On top of that he abuses his Zyuman performers who he forced into working for him in the first place and ruthlessly steals Cube Condor from Perle. All while making the fun dream of a circus into an arrogant hell ride for anyone involved. This isn’t even to say that he tortured Perle in front of all the children on screen just so they could shed more tears.
Overall finding sadistic pleasure in harming children and putting lives after his own horrid goals. With lives never mattering at all in his eyes.
Final Verdict[]
Yeah to this child breaker who only cares to see horrid spectacles at the expense of countless lives. More summer/ VS movie candidates to come I hope.
