Hello folks so I haven't made a proposal in a long time therefore I decided to craft one for a show that I have been seeing a bit of. So without a further ado let's get into it.
Note: Dorzak is a real villain in universe while Sahala imposter is an alter ego that while portrayed by a hero in its conception to fool everyone is a villain. Hereby qualifying as Fictional Fictional.
What is the work?[]
The work is called Space 1999 which is a british television program from the 1970's that is in the same genre as Star Trek. It is about a group called the Alphans originally from Earth that roam space to ward off threats that exist. Essentially to preserve peace in the universe. In season 2 where our candidates are from they find a Psychon named Maya who can feel senses deeper than any human and can change forms to whoever and whatever she wishes. Therefore she joins them as her planet had been destroyed in a cataclysm leaving her as a final survivor. Now she is a navigator still learning their culture.
In this episode Dorzak the Croton ship has arrived at the Alphan base and a woman Sahala (not the imposter) has landed with a deadly prisoner but her xenophobia towards those of his race including.. Maya! leave tensions high among the crew. Therefore Sahala is imprisoned for assaulting Maya and the latter is left conflicted about our candidate. This brings us to who the villains are.
Who are they?[]
Dorzak is a Psychon who has fallen from graces. While once a insightful and omniscient poet in his own right, now he is a war criminal that has brought destruction to the Croton system. Causing aristocrats like Sahala to imprison him. Still his psychic powers and charisma are a deadly mixture that leads to the aristocrats fighting amongst themselves with one falling for him. Death ensues with him observing. The Alphans now need to deal with the troubling situation of who to believe. Sahala or Dorzak?
Sahala is an alter ego persona created by Maya to investigate Dorzak. Although it is like a character made to be a psychopathic aristocrat that cares for no life but her own. Therefore this candidate can be considered as fictional fictional as it is a play for the crew to truly believe. This Sahala is tired of imprisonment and breaks out holding the doctor captive while forcing her through trauma as she leads her to a tube. So she may threaten Dorzak's return for her own personal gain.
What have they done?[]
I personally wrote both bios so it isn't plagiarism.
Dorzak[]
Background[]
Dorzak was a psychon poet who was beloved by his people for his charisma and philosophy before their world was blown to cinders. Unknown to him he didn't predict another survivor Maya existed, therefore he now set his goals on a new escapade. Tired of the pacifistic society he lived in, he spread his sadistic thoughts through chaos causing war and genocide via incitement throughout the Croton system.
Thus he was finally captured for his vile nature by Sahala and the other Croton aristocrats who frowned upon his disregard for a life. Furthermore he was entrapped in stasis for the betterment of everyone. Until one of the Croton's maids fell in love with him and learned the hard way about his psychic powers that brainwashed her to turn against her crew. Freeing Dorzak and assaulting another Croton, killing her through induced blood force trauma. The lover was then put in a coma by the dead one and Dorzak entered further imprisonment by Sahala.
Arriving at the Alphan base[]
After the Alphans were on the brink of suspecting Sahala as a villain due to her xenophobic behavior to Psychons, they allowed Maya to see Dorzak as she believed him to be incorruptible. Seeing no harm in it she freed Dorzak who now used his charisma to manipulate Maya making it seem he was innocent by flattering her. Then he approached her about her shapeshifting. Creating relatability as survivors of a grave disaster but the Croton woman in a coma awoke, but was in a state of madness seeing flashes of Dorzak driving her insane from within the comfort of his cell. She claimed Sahala was evil and the one behind her state and condition. Unfortunately she soon passed from her injuries mental and physical.
In fact Dorzak had accomplished this well thought out plan as they had taken out a chip which blocks his psychic influences to the brain. Now he was free and not considered a threat by most individuals on the Alphan base. Except after finding this chip embedded in Sahala he had a plan for Dorzak to come clean by putting all cards on the table. For "Sahala" to meet him, Maya was recruited as a shapeshifter to convince her as well.
The trap[]
Dorzak alongside everyone saw the message that "Sahala" had broken out of detention and held the doctor Helena as a human shield. After boarding the transport tube and sending a threat toward the Alphans of imminent death, the crafty Dorzak agreed to the terms. Therefore the exchange was made and he was probed by Sahala but exposed her as Maya due to him subtly questioning why she was asking questions to which she should already know the answer to. Manipulating her further he lamented on her "betrayal" and then controlled her to impersonate himself and teach him how to shapeshift.
Therefore by doing so he impersonated Maya and convinced everyone that the trap worked. Soon Helena was under his control so he could use Sahala to escape the Alpham base. Unfortunately Tony caught on and wasn't controlled like Dorzak initially assumed. Finally he was beat and imprisoned once again in a deep slumber.
Sahala[]
"Sahala" had managed to break out of her imprisonment and decided to leave the Alphan ship with her prisoner Dorzak without anymore of waiting. Therefore she took the Alphan doctor Helena hostage and began to walk through the hallways towards a transport tube. Tony warned nobody to intercept them. After reaching the Croton gave a harrowing message to the Alphans.
She needed the Psychon Dorzak or she would release radiation to kill all of them if they refused to meet her demands. Flabbergasted at how this was allowed to happen Tony submitted and brought Dorzak as required. Therefore the trade was made smoothly and Sahala took Dorzak into her ship hastily.
Sahala mocked the Psychon alleging him as a warmongering and a dangerous criminal. Reassuring him that she will not fall to his influence. Suddenly though he wasn't fretting instead she was as he exposed Maya in disguise. Revealing that the real Sahala would understand the purpose of the chip blocking his mind control waves. Thus Maya dropped the act and the "threat" of Sahala seemingly was neutralized to the Alphan crew.
Heinous standard[]
In Space 1999 the standard varies plot by plot but let's break it down
Dorzak[]
He induced a woman to kill her aristocrat friend by inflicting blood force trauma all while resulting her getting forced into a coma by retaliation. Not to mention she later is driven insane by Dorzak to incriminate Sahala (the real one) all on screen. He also caused wars that are implied to have taken countless lives. Later he tortures Maya and plans to force the chip blocking his psychic waves out of Sahala.
Other villains
Fake Koenig - Imprisoned the real one and tried to sabotage their ship. Planned to recreate his own race by destroying the Alphans but this is done a lot.
Mentor - Steals intellect from beings but once again not on screen and no permanent damage to the world is intentionally caused in a universe where one man like Dorzak can ruin lives with his mere presence.
The vegans were slavers and did once rape Maya but it was in a “tender” way so within continuity it was pretty minor. It was only to spite Koenig and the villain later redeemed and all was well with Maya. Dorzak had irreversible Crimes with fewer resources.
Once again the blobs murdered and brainwashed Alphans but didn’t kill them in gruesome or heartless ways, overall mercy killing. Many members like the vegans but no long term damage to show for it also like the vegans.
Most other villains are kidnappers and simple tyrant wannabes that don't do anything notable. Simple espionage and rarely do they even inflict long lasting damage on the heroes at all.
Dorcons: Want to steal Maya's brain but fail at doing so. Even with more resources being an empire with soldiers do less damage than a genocidal one man army.
Malic- Another candidate I will propose but while this guy murders a lot and is a vile monster for his personal murders of his uncle and close ally, on screen, Dorzak too has vile moments that are serious and on screen. Not to mention Dorzak has less resources.
Sahala imposter[]
She kidnaps Helena the doctor and uses her as a meat shield while forcing her to let her in the tube. Not even in a kind way but an oppressive one. Later she threatens to kill everyone in the ship regardless of all the innocent crewmates aboard if they don't deliver Dorzak to her. Other villains with far greater resources never had the ability to or even came close to killing all the Alphans. For the show Sahala could have realistically done this. Even before this as per her character too she had kept Dorzak and even Maya in a coma like state through torture. Simply due to her distaste in Psychons.
Even as a fictional fictional persona her willingness to murder everyone on the alphan ship and abuse/shielding of Helena alongside the tortures of Maya in specific let her stand out among many other real villains who have more resources even as just an alter ego.
Mitigating Factors[]
Dorzak[]
Absolutely none. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing as he uses those next to him as mere pawns to further his own agenda. He may have been a good man but now he uses Maya and the other Croton woman just to make them commit terrible acts. He was willing to trade himself only to get close to Sahala so he could escape. Although his MEH is driving that croton woman who he manipulated earlier to complete insanity just to incriminate Sahala as evil. He had no justification and acts as a saint to Maya, forgetting she even died. Completely proving he has no compassion left, if he even had any.
Sahala imposter[]
“ | "Correct. And should Dorzak make you reluctant may I remind you that if I choose to ignite the photon drive before I am clear of Alpha, all life here will be extinguished by radiation." | „ |
~ Sahala's depravity. |
Not that I can see as how the persona is made she has no compassion for anyone besides herself. When she inquires to Dorzak how he subverted the other Croton woman's mind, it was to save herself. Not to mention she doesn't care about any Alphans and will blackmail them in very cruel ways while remaining completely stoic and emotionless about it. Such as threatening to blow the entire ship apart even when not necessary and treating Helena like a sack of trash.
Verdict[]
Yes to these two sacks of trash.
