Esther

So, since X9 the Android had explained to me that they would be unable to see it in their home country until September 15th, decided to start the removal process.

Who is she?[]

Esther Coleman. Esther Albright. Leena Klammer the main antagonist of the 2009 psychological thriller Orphan and the protagonist of the prequel film Orphan: First Kill. Portrayed by Isabelle Fuhrman, Esther at first seems to be a shockingly intelligent young girl until it is revealed that she is actually a 33-year-old psychopath suffering from dwarfism who inserts herself into families to destroy them all so she could get with the adoptive fathers. However, it inevitably leads to the deaths of the entire family.

She was a mental patient at the Saarne Institute where she was the most dangerous one. She wears ribbons and laces to hide the scars she got from struggling to escape the straightjacket she was forced to wear.

Why She Doesn't Qualify[]

The prequel film does not go into the backstory that was apart of the original script (the one where she is sexually abused by her biological father). However, First Kill does give her a few humanizing moments. For instance, one of the first people she kills happened to be a pedophile that was part of the staff at the mental institution she escapes in which is...not bad.

So the real villains of the movie are Tricia and Gunnar. The latter accidentally killed the real Esther and the mother, rather than calling the police, covers up the murder (she loved the real Esther...but apparently not enough if it meant that her son was charged for her death). So they were were aware that the "Esther" they meet was not the real one, but they were willing to keep up the illusion because Alan was depressed by the disappearance of his beloved daughter.

Esther does show some semblance of standards when dealing with the Albright family. She is rightly disgusted by Tricia and Gunnar and, surprisingly, she is more than content with giving up the charade and leaving without harming them which is interesting due to how she is more than willing to kill entire families if she did not get her way. She only does end up killing them when Tricia and Gunnar were determined to silence her once she overstayed her welcome.

She also appeared to genuinely love Alan: while she does appear to push him off the roof after he rejected her, it looks like either he accidentally slipped or she acted out of her emotions. Either way, she calls out his name in a saddened tone of voice. She also treated a mouse as a pet.
