Apparently on the Pure Evil Wiki, the article has to be approved to be accepted. So I’m going to propose one that was deleted from there. From the cartoon Gargoyles, what do you have to say about Thailog?

Who is Thailog? What Has He Done?[]

Thailog is the evil clone of Goliath. Formed when a steel clan robot wounded Goliath when David Xanatos was still in prison, his DNA collected, forming an exact clone of Goliath with Goliath’s brute strength, Xanatos’ intellect, and Dr. Anton Sevarius’ flair for the dramatic.

Staging his own kidnapping for a ransom of $20 million from Xanatos, Thailog managed to gather his own "fathers" to an oil rig. Goliath and Elisa see Thailog in shackles, and Elisa says for Goliath not to let his anger out on Thailog. That’s when Thailog unlocked his own shackles and knocked out Goliath with a gas that also neutralized his own strength, even stating that the shackles weren’t even locked. When Xanatos and Sevarius arrive with Xanatos suspecting Sevarius of the kidnapping, eventually they figured out that they were both set up, and Thailog knocks out Xanatos with a electric disc that takes out his suit’s powers while capturing Sevarius as well.

Goliath tries to talk to his "son" that being a gargoyle means that they protect, but Thailog saw no profit in protecting the weak. Initially, he thought about sharing the money with Goliath, but stated that his reunion had disappointed him. So he decided to hate him as well. He sets the oil rig to explode and burn alive his three "fathers" while he escapes with the money. Eventually they do escape when Thailog seemingly perished, but Xanatos states that he would’ve had a contingency plan and faked his own death with the money. After realizing that Thailog had gotten away, Xanatos openly admits that he created a monster.

Eventually, he seduces Demona in Paris. The two create a scheme to take Macbeth‘s fortune. With Demona granted the power to turn into a human by Puck, she would seduce Macbeth into marrying her, and she and Thailog would lock away Macbeth to seize control of his assets. Of course, Macbeth and Demona fight with Macbeth wanting to end his life, knowing that he’ll finally die once he kills Demona. This was Thailog’s plan the entire time as the will says that should Macbeth and Dominique Destane (Demona’s human identity) both die, then everything will be signed over to (Alexander) Thailog. Goliath, Elisa, and Angela manage to talk Macbeth out of killing Demona, and Thailog takes Demona to get away with Demona unaware that Thailog was using her.

When the Manhattan clan manage to capture Demona and lock her up in the labyrinth, each gargoyle took turns guarding her with robot mosquitoes taking some DNA. Thailog was plotting with Sevarius to create his own clan that is completely subservient only to him. Thailog breaks out Demona and even takes Fang as well at Demona’s behest. They managed to lay a trap for the clan at an abandoned amusement park and capture them. Thailog was looking to kill Angela first, but Demona immediately protested since Angela’s her daughter. Thailog reveals that he was prepared for Demona’s betrayal, so he had a new mate created from her DNA and Elisa’s DNA, Delilah. Demona has the clan escape, urging Goliath to protect Angela. The clan managed to defeat Thailog’s clan and Thailog and Demona were seen fighting on top of a roller coaster on fire. The roller coaster burns down, seemingly killing both Thailog and Demona.

On the comics, it was revealed that Thailog survived, and was looking to take back his clan by force by attacking the Labyrinth. He stabbed Goliath, intending to have him bleed out. He tortured Goliath in front of Elisa before the clan rescued him and he manages to cut each of them with his wrist guards. Delilah decides not to side with either Goliath or Thailog, and most of the clones return to the Labyrinth with her except for Brentwood, who comes back to Thailog.

Heinousness[]

This series has a vast array of villains who are three-dimensional or sympathetic, but Thailog really stands out as the most malevolent villain in the series. So much so that Xanatos admits that he created a monster. Only Jackal and Proteus would also stand out in their own ways, but Thailog is beyond evil and he knows it and loves it.

Redeeming Factors[]

Seeing that The Goliath Chronicles is not canon, it’s easy to say he has none.

Final Verdict[]

Easy yes for approval.
