Okay, now I'm finished with making a formality post of Retak’ka, it's time for me to remake an old proposal that was made from back in 2019, which happens to be Bora Ra, the main villain of BoBoiBoy franchise's first ever movie.
Looking back at the old proposal, I cannot believe how skimpy and low-effort it is. Other than "Who is the Candidate" section is very short, the "What he has done" section only explain how heinous he is and his entire personality rather than explaining his entire biography of his and the "Heinous standards" section only explained his comparison with Ejo Jo instead of explaining the actual heinous standards of the work, how heinous he is and how does he stand out amongst other villains. In order to fix this, I decide to create another formality post like this guy.

What's the work?[]
BoBoiBoy: The Movie is a Malaysian action superhero CGI-animated movie produced by Monsta and directed by Nizam Razak that was theatrically released on March 3rd, 2016, three months before BoBoiBoy series has ended. The movie follows the story of BoBoiBoy and his friends embarks on their journey to the floating island while going to save Ochobot from the hands of Tengkotak and prevent them from stealing the teleportation powers from Klamkabot before it's too late.
Who is he?[]
Bora Ra is a main antagonist of 2016 Malaysian CGI-animated film BoBoiBoy: The Movie. He is a power hungry and ruthless leader of the group of Power Sphere hunters Tengkotak and one of BoBoiBoy's most dangerous and feared adversaries that's ever encountered. In order to increase his race's galactic conquest, he and his fellow Tengkotak went to hunt down for the first-generation Power Sphere Klamkabot to steal his teleportation power, but only for him to transfer it to his ward Ochobot. After he mercilessly takes away teleportation power from Ochobot and used it against BoBoiBoy, he was finally defeated as BoBoiBoy split into seven to finish him off.
What he has done?[]
Bora Ra is famously known as the leader of the group of Power Sphere hunters named Tengkotak, who has been hunting down many Power Spheres before killing them in cold blood and turning them into trophies and helping the Ata Ta Tiga empire in their galactic conquest. One day, the Tengkotak went to invade Planet GogoBugi to search for another Power Sphere named EnerBot. When they stormed at the governor's home, Bora Ra angrily attacked him with his Black Hole Power for not telling him about the whereabouts of EnerBot. Once he encountered with the governor's sons Kaizo and Fang, he later snatched the EnerBot from them, believing he finally got it. However, Fang managed to bite him in the leg which allowed Kaizo to use EnerBot and was given an energy power to fight against him. But Bora Ra managed to stop the fight by threatening to send his little brother Fang to the blackhole before attempt to kill both boys in cold blood. Luckily, Admiral Maskmana later arrived at the scene and mocking him for his cowardice. Enraged, Bora Ra attempt to attack him which led to his right antenna being cut off before Maskmana escaped with Kaizo and Fang. As result of their encounter with Bora Ra, Kaizo has became an overprotective individual who would do anything to protect his younger brother while Fang no longer remember what happen because he's still too young to do it.
While Tengkotak are on the hunt for Klamkabot, Bora Ra sending T-Robots to captured and constrict him down. Before they get to take him with them, Klamkabot managed to use the full power of his teleportation power to transport himself and the floating island away from them, causing Bora Ra to yell out in rage over his failure. Despite finally discovered that Klamkabot was on Earth, Bora Ra wasn't pleased to hear that his exact location is still not found yet which he threaten to exile Yoyo Oo from his spaceship if he didn't get to find him. However, Yoyo Oo discovered another Power Sphere other than Klamkabot, but he managed to lie to Bora Ra about that.
The next morning, the rest of Tengkotak arrived on Earth as they appeared in front of Tok Aba and BoBoiBoy Kokotiam where they're welcomed at by Adu Du and Probe. After Adu Du introducing Tengkotak to BoBoiBoy and his friends, Bora Ra demanded them for a Power Sphere. Realized that Ochobot was another Power Sphere other than Klamkabot, he scolds Yoyo Oo for their difference but later agreed with his plans to capture him to lure down Klamkabot. Once Bora Ra captured Ochobot, BoBoiBoy attempt to get him back but was forced to fight against Gaga Naz and he was defeated, even after he split into three. When BoBoiBoy's friends come to him for an aid, Bora Ra decide to finish the fight by summoning his Black Hole Power before the rest of Tengkotak leaving BoBoiBoy with Ochobot in their hands. Additionally, they recruited both Adu Du and Probe to join their group as well.
After Tengkotak return to their spaceship, Bora Ra send Ochobot to the floating island to track down Klamkabot. When Adu Du and Probe became concerned that BoBoiBoy's going after Ochobot to save him, he began to express his doubts about it and cruelly laughs at them for believing in friendship, causing Adu Du to call him a jerk in retaliation. Realized that Adu Du and Probe are right that BoBoiBoy went after Ochobot, he gave them a Kurita and then ejects them from his spaceship, leaving them to get eaten along with BoBoiBoy and his friends. However, BoBoiBoy and his friends finally escaped from Kurita and got to the floating island, including Adu Du and Probe as well.
When Tengkotak arrived at the floating island, Yoyo Oo is taking too long to search for Klamkabot in the cave because he has a hard time doing it, which of course makes Bora Ra lose his temper and patience of this. Later that night, Bora Ra was shocked to discover that Klamkabot attacked Ochobot and also BoBoiBoy and his friends was at the floating island, causing him to release J-Rex to get after BoBoiBoy and his friends and order to give him the last coordinate of Ochobot's last location.
The next morning, BoBoiBoy and his friends went to visit Ochobot at the cave and first met Klamkabot who tells them the history of the Power Spheres and the Kubulus empire's galactic conquest. However, Bora Ra and Gaga Naz later appears in front of them which forcing BoBoiBoy and his friends to flee away from them. While they're at the Power Sphere factory, BoBoiBoy and his friends are still being pursued at by Bora Ra and Gaga Naz. After Gaga Naz is defeated by both Yaya and Ying, Bora Ra went to scold him for losing at them and order him to transform and finish BoBoiBoy and his friends while he went after Klamkabot to capture him.
When they return back to their spaceship, Yoyo Oo activates the Power Sucking Gate and Bora Ra puts it on him to absorb his teleportation power, while also mockingly says this process really hurts him a lot. After painfully torturing Klamkabot by brutally extracting his powers, he became shocked to discover that Klamkabot has already given up his teleportation powers to Ochobot, so he contacts BoBoiBoy and his friends and threaten them to bring Ochobot to him in exchange for Papa Zola, Adu Du and Probe's lives. When BoBoiBoy and his friends arrived in front of Bora Ra and his men and pretends to agree with their deal to spare Papa Zola, Adu Du and Probe from being held captive, Bora Ra discover that they're planning to escape with Ochobot's teleportation power. However, Kiki Ta managed to stop BoBoiBoy and his friends from escaping by shooting Ochobot, allowing Bora Ra to capture him on his hands and brutally takes his teleportation powers away.
Now with teleportation powers on his hand, Bora Ra threw Ochobot aside and began to use the teleportation powers. When BoBoiBoy tried to get to Ochobot, Bora Ra went to stands in his way and BoBoiBoy transform into Fire to attack him, before trapping him with Fire Shackles and attempt to use Extreme Heat on him, revealing his battle armor in front of the heroes. After he managed to defeat both BoBoiBoy and Fang, Bora Ra snatch Ochobot away from the latter and destroying him with Super Dense Black Hole in front of his eyes, before mockingly calls him a little weakling. Once Bora Ra thought he was done for after seemingly finished him off, BoBoiBoy's elemental powers were later upgraded with Ochobot's last energy along with his friends, allowing him to stand up against Bora Ra now he finally received his Blaze and Ice forms. Enraged, Bora Ra absorbed BoBoiBoy into the black hole, but only for him to split into five as Thunderstorm, Cyclone, Quake, Blaze and Ice.
Now seemingly finished off, Bora Ra angrily refused to give up and unleashed Gargantuan Black Hole to destroy the entire floating island out of spite, leaving BoBoiBoy and his friends to get sucked into it. Fang went after him with his shadow fusion powers, but Bora Ra contacts Yoyo Oo to gave him the coordinates for the teleportation. Once he finally received a coordinate, Bora Ra attempt to teleport away along with his spaceship, but only to disappear for a brief of time before they teleport back here. Realized that he was given a false coordinate, Bora Ra became enraged of getting fooled and attempt to attack Papa Zola, Adu Du and Probe for this. However, he was finally defeated when BoBoiBoy split into seven before he was sucked into his own black hole, blowing it up later on. Now with Bora Ra gone, the members of Tengkotak has been captured by Cici Ko (who revealed himself to be Commander Koko Ci of TAPOPS) and the floating island is now safe and sound.
Heinous standards[]
Like I said in my PE formality post of Retak'ka, the BoBoiBoy franchise clearly has high heinous standards where most of the antagonists are threat to the entire galaxy, with some of them were hunting down Power Spheres to use them for their powers and some of them were generally a threat and nothing else. BTW, we have major villains we have to compare, such as Adu Du (who tortured BoBoiBoy Lightning by popping balloons in front of him before manipulating him into attacking his friends once he transformed into Thunderstorm and being responsible for BoBoiBot attempt to drown the Rintis Island), Ejo Jo (who has PETAI to destroy Probe in front of BoBoiBoy and Adu Du and attempt to devour BoBoiBoy and the others alive with Shadow Dragon), BoBoiBot (who extorting the Rintis Island citizens into paying for his and Adu Du's services and attempt to flood the entire Rintis Island), Captain Separo (who attempt to capture Ochobot, Motobot and BellBot for himself and almost killed BoBoiBoy), Jugglenaut (who captured FireBot, BalloonBot and CementBot, being abusive to his own Power Spheres and attempt to kill BoBoiBoy and his friends), Captain Vargoba (who planned to attack Sunnova Station, causing the destruction of TAPOPS space station and almost killed BoBoiBoy by leaving him frozen in outer space), Retak’ka (who has killed four elemental masters and the rest of Guruhan Army and destroying many planets to upgrade his powers), Emperor Reramos (who took over Planet Windara under Kuputeri's absence, enslaving many Kepaku villagers and plans to brainwash the rest of Windara people), and Kira'na (who stole lightning elemental powers from BoBoiBoy, captured TAPOPS members and planet delegates and attempt to conquer the entire galaxy under the rule of Gur'latan Empire).
Bora Ra, on the other hand, is easily stands out amongst them. As usual, he is a dangerous and ruthless Power Sphere hunter who has been hunting down many Power Spheres to help the Kubulus empire for their galactic conquest while also turning them into his own trophies. Judging by the Klamkabot's holographic projection showing many Kubulus spaceships are attacking a planet, it is likely that he and the rest of Tengkotak are responsible for every planetary conquests throughout the galaxy. During his invasion on Planet GogoBugi, he attacked the governor and his family for not giving up the EnerBot, whose power was given to Kaizo and later used it on the future, didn't even cared if their children Kaizo and Fang were young during the time. This resulted in Kaizo having traumatic experience over his encounter with Bora Ra while also Fang forgetting about what happen due to his young age.
And now, he and the rest of Tengkotak went to hunt down Klamkabot for his teleportation powers. According to Klamkabot, if Tengkotak managed to get their hands of teleportation power, it will increase the Kubulus empire's galactic conquest and the entire galaxy will be in danger if this happens. When he and the rest of Tengkotak arrived on Earth, Bora Ra ruthlessly snatched away Ochobot from BoBoiBoy's hands to use him as a bait to capture Klamkabot. In order to stop the fight, he unleashed his Black Hole Power, which destroyed everything around the Rintis Island Park, endangering a cat and few people like Tok Aba and destroying Tok Aba and BoBoiBoy's Kokotiam as result. This image will probably show how destructive Bora Ra's black hole power could be.
While on their way to the floating island, he cruelly ejects Adu Du and Probe off his spaceship and leaving them to get eaten by Kurita, along with BoBoiBoy and his friends, but they managed to survived from being eaten later on. After finding out that BoBoiBoy and his friends were at the floating island, he orders to send out J-Rex to get after them, but only for him and Gaga Naz to found the rest of the gang at the cave with Ochobot and Klamkabot while J-Rex went after Papa Zola, Adu Du and Probe. After capturing Klamkabot, he has him being tortured under Yoyo Oo's power sucking gate in order to extract teleportation powers from him. It was noted that the device is very painful enough to absorb the teleportation power from Klamkabot, judging by him screaming in pain when the device is being used even when the extraction level is increased, even Bora Ra mockingly admitted to him that the device's process will hurt a lot. Oh, and keep in mind that Klamkabot's torture at the hands of Bora Ra is pretty much vile.
After discovering that Klamkabot had already given up his teleportation powers to Ochobot, Bora Ra decide to held Papa Zola, Adu Du and Probe and threaten to harm them with his black hole powers if BoBoiBoy and his friends don't give Ochobot up to him, and they were screaming in horror because of this. Even when BoBoiBoy and his friends attempt to escape with Ochobot's teleportation and it failed, Bora Ra then snatched Ochobot away from BoBoiBoy and his friends and is ready to crossed the line, by mercilessly taking away his teleportation powers with his black hole power, leaving Ochobot to be screaming in pain while the heroes did nothing but helplessly watching this happens.
Not only he ruthlessly absorbed teleportation power away from Ochobot, he crossed another one by sadistically crushing down Ochobot with his Super Dense Black Hole, intending to crush BoBoiBoy's hope indeed. If you look closely at the image, Bora Ra initially produced a large black hole and then threw a small black hole into Ochobot's body, which later destroys him from the inside and rendering him inactive. This hurts BoBoiBoy a lot so much that he vengefully defeated Bora Ra for what he has done to Ochobot after receiving a last energy from him.
Instead of just giving up, Bora Ra decide to take extreme measures by unleashing his Gargantuan Black Hole to destroy the entire floating island out of spite, hoping to destroy BoBoiBoy and his friends to get back at them. Also, noting that the floating island is where all Power Spheres are made of, but if he knew, Bora Ra didn't even cared as long as he get what he wants. After that, he later attempt to leave them all getting sucked into it by teleporting away, only to be given a false coordinate from Adu Du. (Plus, it does reminds me of Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear or Agent Trout) After realizing that he was tricked by Papa Zola, Adu Du and Probe, Bora Ra attempt to attack them in a fit of rage before he was finally defeated by BoBoiBoy once and for all.
Mitigating factors[]
Throughout the movie, Bora Ra definitely has few comedic moments, but none of them completely detracts from his villainy because either he was involved with others like his subordinates or doesn't take it very well. Here are the examples:
- His reaction of seeing Adu Du falling in love with Kiki Ta is nothing more of a mere annoyance rather than just taking a joke, and of course he wasn't happy about it.
- When Probe mentioned about his friendship with Adu Du, Bora Ra and his subordinates only laughed at them as if they were joking, but noooo.... they only laughed because of how cruel and ruthless they could be, believing that friendship is nothing but worthless, something with Adu Du called Bora Ra out for this.
- When Bora Ra look at the map screen as he discovered that Ochobot's getting closer to Klamkabot, Cici Ko splashes a water on the map screen and wipe it all out in front of him, which of course he wasn't impressed by it and he angrily doesn't take it very well.
- While encountering Bora Ra, Gopal mistakenly believed that he was a live hologram, touching his body and stretching his mouth like if he was real. But Bora Ra, rather than taking a joke, he simply threw him on the ground and attempt to attack him.
- While being held captive, Papa Zola proceed to take selfie with Bora Ra, Adu Du and Probe. Instead of taking a joke, Bora Ra then mockingly comments of how weak they are and talks lowly about humanity because of Papa Zola. Geez, does anyone reminds a similarities between him and Ejo Jo?
- And lastly, when Bora Ra was teleported back to where the floating island is going to be destroyed by his Gargantuan Black Hole along with his spaceship, he became instantly realized that Papa Zola, Adu Du and Probe has given him false coordinates and they were mischievously mocking him for getting fooled. And his response, is that he tried to attack them for this.
So yeah, these moments aren't clearly detracting from how heinous he is and he and his actions were always taken seriously.
Don't get me started on Bora Ra's relationships with his subordinates, okay? Their relationships were more than boss-subordinates relationships rather than genuine friendships, plus there's no indication that he genuinely cares for them and only treats them like if they were a pawn for his plans. Plus, he was also an awful boss to them as well, such as threatening to exile Yoyo Oo from his spaceship if he didn't find Klamkabot's exact location, always mistreating Yoyo Oo whenever he makes mistakes or failed him, ejects both Adu Du and Probe from his spaceship, angrily growls at Cici Ko to get out of his sight for splashing at the map screen and wiping it, and scolding Gaga Naz for losing against Yaya and Ying. While he was never seen mistreated Kiki Ta, just like I said from above, it was more of a boss-subordinate relationship instead of genuine friendship, nuff said.
I am clearly not buying the fact that he politely asked BoBoiBoy to let him borrow Ochobot for him, and he later drops the ball on it by revealing that he "borrow" it by force. He even sees friendships are nothing but worthless as he laughs at both Adu Du and Probe when latter mentions about their friendship, something which Adu Du calls him out on and made Bora Ra felt like he's been challenged for this. And don't get me started on how much he mocked BoBoiBoy's friendship with Klamkabot, with Yoyo Oo backing him up by saying that he only friends with Ochobot, not seeing or understand how strong BoBoiBoy's bond with Ochobot is. After Kiki Ta stops BoBoiBoy and his friends from escaping with Ochobot's teleportation power, Bora Ra definitely call their tricks an admirable attempt like if it was an honor or not, but it's actually more of a mockery over their failure and then taunting them by showing Ochobot in his hands. Even if he did, it's likely that he immediately subverted it because of how power hungry and selfish he could be. Before that, he really did promised BoBoiBoy and his friends that he'd be let go of Papa Zola, Adu Du and Probe if they surrender Ochobot to him and later let his hostages go when they did, but he only did that because he only get what he wants instead of honor or out of concern, or rather not wanting to waste anymore time. Lastly, after beating BoBoiBoy into a pulp, he allowed BoBoiBoy to see Ochobot for the last time, but only to trick him into getting brutally attacked, with his own hands.
Final verdict[]
Easy keeper to this Tirek/Megatron wannabe.
