What's the work?[]
Return of Ultraman (帰ってきたウルトラマン Kaettekita Urutoraman) is the Japanese sci-fi tokusatsu series created and produced by Tsuburaya Productions that ran from April 2, 1971 to March 31, 1972. It serves as the fourth entry of the Ultra Series as well.
After the events of Ultraman and Ultraseven, a young race-car driver named Hideki Goh became Ultraman Jack after saving a little boy and a dog from being crushed by a falling rubbles. His sacrifice leds him to joined MAT and fight alongside them and Jack to protect the world from monsters and aliens.
Who is he?[]
Alien Nackle (ナックル星人 Nakkuru Seijin) is the recurring antagonists in Ultra Series who first appeared in Return of Ultraman as the main antagonists in episodes 37 and 38. He invaded the Earth just to defeat Ultraman Jack and take over it, only for him to be defeated by Jack.
What he has done?[]
Alien Nackle is a sadistic and manipulative alien who is bent on taking over the world with an iron fist. Upon first arrived at the Earth, he disguised himself as an old man and worked at Space Radio Wave Laboratory where he would study Ultraman Jack. He revived both monsters Seagorath and Bemstar to fight Jack to observe his powers and abilities. Knowing that Jack is really powerful, he sent his bodyguard monster Black King to distract MAT while he stole one of the vehicles. His actions made Goh aware of his scheme. Discovering about Goh's loved ones, he sent out his men to kidnap Aki. While on their way, they run over Ken and dragged Aki behind the car, killing both.
Because of this, their deaths emotionally break Goh's spirit, causing him to became hopeless. Knowing this would happened, he sent Black King again to attack the Earth and brutally beating up Ultraman Jack. Unfortunately, Nackle appears and sadistically beating up Jack relentlessly with the monster until he was painfully exhausted, completely out of power. Excited that he is defeated, he summoned his spaceship to bring Ultraman Jack to his planet and be prepared for his execution while announced everyone that Jack is dead, shattering their hopes.
After Ultraman Jack has been taken away, Nackle contacted MAT and sinisterly revealed his true intentions to them. He then showed a video where the V1 being destroyed. Without other options, MAT decided to infiltrate the Space Radio Wave Laboratory. Unfortunately, he used the mind-controlling satellite dish to brainwash the team under his control, with an exception of Yuriko who avoided his mind control. Meanwhile at the Planet Nackle, Jack was on his way to be executed, but was saved by Ultraman and Ultraseven and his power was restored. Grateful for this, Jack returned to Earth.
When Goh returned to the base, the brainwashed MAT seized him and prepared for him to be executed. However, Yuriko managed to saved Goh and helped him removed the ultrasonic waves from the team. Goh went back to Black King and Alien Nackle and transformed into Ultraman Jack to fought them. After Jack destroyed the mind-controlling satellite dish, Nackle becomes enraged before he and Black King brutally overpowering Jack. With a support from MAT, Ultraman, and Ultraseven, Jack refused to back down and stand up to both. Finally, Jack finished both in the air by decapitating Black King and slamming Alien Nackle to the ground. Nackle then cursed Jack by saying that Tokyo will be exploded soon before he was dissolved into nothing.
Heinous standard[]
Even though Return of Ultraman can be light-hearted, his own episodes were surprisingly dark. Unlike most of the monsters and aliens who are either generic or sympathetic, Nackle is the only one who stands out as the most evil villain in history. His first MEH ever that he crossed was that he killed the Sakata siblings Ken and Aki in cold blood just to break Goh's spirit. Another MEH is that he brutally beating up Ultraman Jack to make him painfully exhausted with the help of Black King, having Ultraman Jack brought to his home planet to be executed. Nackle then brainwashed the MAT team to capture one another and planned to execute Goh here. When Ultraman Jack returns, he and Black King were overpowering him at first until Jack managed to defeat them. Before his death, he taunted Jack by saying that the Tokyo will be exploded soon, but not until Goh managed to defused the device.
Mitigating factors[]
Absolutely NOT!! Nackle has 0% of redeeming qualities of his. He only treated his subjects and the monsters as a pawn for his schemes to defeat Ultraman Jack and take over the world when he succesfully defeated an Ultra. Nackle is nothing but a sadist who enjoys making people suffer, such as emotionally break Goh's spirit by killed his loved ones, Aki and Ken, and brutally beating up Jack in order for him to be prepared to be executed. He has no qualms of brainwashing the MAT team to capture one another and was about to execute Goh. Before his death, Nackle shows his jerkass behavior as he mocked Jack that Tokyo will be exploded soon.
Final verdict[]
A big YES to this inhuman trash of alien! Anyone else?
