Capek

After having finished rewriting the page, I can now commit into adding a PE Proposal of the day with the mad scientist that is Axel Capek from Red Faction, the head scientist of Ultor Corporation with a gruesome twist. Responsible for conducting heinous experiments on his unfortunate victims, his legacy would continue on in future Red Faction games, and even though Colonel Masako would later be the main antagonist, Capek had far more screentime and had far bigger plans than Masako blowing up the entire colony in order to wipe out all of the evidence.

Now, without further ado, lets get this PE Proposal started!

What is the work?[]

Red Faction is a first-person shooter released in 2001, developed by Volition, released in the consoles and PC, including the PS4 re-release with trophy support and wider resolution.

Who is he?/What has he done?[]

Axel Capek is a head scientist for Ultor Corporation within Mars, and had discovered nanotechnology, including The Plague discovered deep within the caves of Mars. And his experiments were completely unethical at best, his victims often dying of gruesome deaths, or being mutated into mindless creatures. Worse yet, he had also created creatures of his own with various DNA, mixed in with nanotechnology.

Even Masako herself described Capek as an egomaniac, given his unethical and twisted nature regarding his experiments on animals and humans alike. Of course, even after his death, his legacy had passed on, with his fellow, loyal scientists continuing with his work in secret.

Heinous Standards[]

His heinous standards stand out really high, and he caused The Plague to run amok, resulting in the deaths of many, mainly miners, and had performed horrendous experiments in using animals and humans as guinea pigs, often resulting in mutations and dying gruesome deaths. And he shows no care to human life and went to toy and belittle Parker throughout, and even in his near-death, he was seriously defiant in refusing to tell Eos about the cure for The Plague, and wishes that they all die. It proves while his scientists were loyal to him, Capek doesn't return the same feelings to his fellow scientists.

Mitigating Factors[]

None at all, and is clearly unsympathetic of his actions, especially beneath his calm demeanor. Even though Masako wants to blow up the facility whole to remove evidence, Capek is in a league of his own for even after his death continues on through future Red Faction games, and despite his short size, he is a deadly force to be reckoned with, and even Ultor guards know when to not get near him, lest they be used as his personal test subject that often leads to grotesque results.

Final Verdict[]

A yes for me, especially with his actions being completely justified. The rest is up to you guys to see if he qualifies or not.
