Tantalus-punishment

Two PE Proposals in one day, and that's okay. Because the next villain for proposal is none other than Tantalus from the Greek mythology. And his actions are so disturbing that a reader discretion is advised for those with weak stomachs. His crimes might catch you by surprise so without further ado, let's get this proposal started!

Who is he?/What has he done?[]

Tantalus was the father of Pelops, and served as a king who was once said to be a blessed individual. While he was used to be welcomed to Zeus' table, he certainly lives up to his name when it comes to committing heinous acts.

Heinous Standards[]

It's no surprise that Tantalus committed crimes including stealing ambrosia and nectar to bring it back to his people and revealed the secrets of the Gods out of spite. But by far one of his worst crimes were killing his own son Pelops and cutting his body parts up before boiling them and serving his own son's body parts as food, which is basically considered the most nausea-inducing acts there is.

And that's not just the worst part. He committed human sacrifice, cannibalism (especially towards his own son that had just been revived before being disposed of by Zeus out of anger), and filicide. It was at this moment is where he served his eternal punishment, and whatever food and water he tries to receive, all end up straying back from Tantalus' grasp.

Mitigating Factors[]

Tantalus was as selfish as he is greedy, and even sees his own son as food and killed him out of sheer heartlessness, all because of his selfish acts in wanting more power than ever for himself, and Tantalus himself is one, twisted individual that makes other cannibals like Hannibal Lecter far more likeable despite his similar traits. And the fact that he committed human sacrifices makes him more monster than man.

Final Verdict[]

A definitive yes, as he cared nothing but power, and killed his own son out of spite in order to have his guests eat Pelops' remains. As for you guys, all up to you to see if this power hungry king fits to this category.
