Bujin Gaim 2

I was going to propose this sooner but I got sidetracked.

What’s The Work?

Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fateful Sengoku Movie Battle is a 2013 Tokosatsu crossover film between Kamen Rider Gaim and Kamen Rider Wizard that takes place after the final episode of the latter and in between episodes 9 & 10 of the former.

Who Are They?

Ogre

Ogre is the secondary antagonist of Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fateful Sengoku Movie Battle, serving as the main antagonist of the Wizard section titled “The Promise Place”. He is a cannibalistic phantom who seeks to become the most powerful one and consume Haruto’s inner phantom Wizardragon.

Kamen Rider Bujin Gaim

Kamen Rider Bujin Gaim is the main antagonist of the 2013 Tokusatsu crossover film Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fateful Sengoku Movie Battle. He is an evil alternate version of Kamen Rider Gaim from the World of Sengoku Era who seeks to obtain Heaven’s power so he can rule over the land.

What Have They Done?

Ogre

Background

Like with all Phantoms, he was born when a gate named Osuka gave into despair during Wiseman’s sabbath ritual. Like with Beast Chimera, Ogre was a cannibalistic phantom who ate others. Compared to other phantoms, Ogre had the unique power to take the abilities of other phantoms he consumed. Since, he never appeared in the series proper, it’s likely Wiseman attempted to contain him similar to Legion due to his cannibalistic goals interfering with his goals to revive his daughter. Unlike Legion though, Wiseman wasn’t so lucky with Ogre, who seemingly managed to avoid being contained. Strangely, Ogre never once choose to attack throughout the events of the series.

Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fateful Sengoku Movie Battle

Following Sora Takigawa’s defeat in the series finale, he began consuming copies of phantoms throughout the series (Phoenix, Medusa, Gremlin, Legion, and Beelezebub) in a attempt to become the most powerful phantom, culminating in him attempting devour Haruto Soma’s inner phantom Wizardragon. Ogre then made his appearance known to the Haruto and his friends by devouring three Carbuncles in front of Rinko, Kizaki, and Kosuke while beating them and later attacking Haruto and a bunch of people at a beach and stealing his hope ring.

Wanting Haruto to fall into despair so that he could devour Wizardragon, he created a dark version of Koyomi Fueki, using his stolen Hope Ring and had her going on a destructive rampage as a female version of Kamen Rider Wiseman so that he would go into despair from either killing her or not killing her. Before Haruto/Wizard could make a decision, Kosuke knocked him out with a knee to the stomach and remade his pact with Beast Chimera to form Kamen Rider Beast once more. As he was about to get the upper hand against Koyomi’s clone, Ogre interfered and pummeled him until he went into Hyper, leading to him leaving and taking Koyomi with him.

Ogre would later show up to once again stop Kamen Rider Beast when he attempted to help Wizard in his battle against Koyomi. Fortunately, in spite of him attacking Beast, Wizard managed to reason with Ogre’s Koyomi clone and give her closure, resulting in her reverting back to the Hope Ring. Enraged that Haruto didn’t fall into despair and having grown impatient, he used Legion’s power to strike him and enter his underworld so that he could devour Wizardragon there rather than waiting for Haruto to give into despair. When Kosuke/Beast attempted to save him, Ogre sent three Carbuncle clones to attack him, thus preventing him from being able to enter Haruto’s underworld. Fortunately, the power of Haruto’s Hope Ring's had resonated, leading to the Chi Chi Puin Puin Ring summoning another Haruto and allowing him to enter his own underworld.

Upon Ogre finding Wizardragon, he was shocked to learn that he couldn’t devour him, to which Haruto informed him that the Dragon was his hope. The two then went on to battle each other within Haruto's Underworld, where they began to go through several memories of his past. Eventually, with the help of Wizardragon, he was able to defeat Ogre and prevent him from destroying his underworld and causing more death and destruction.

Saber + Zenkaiger: Superhero Senki

Ogre would later be revived by as a member of Asmodeus' army and assisted him in trying to take over the world and laying waste to a city. Later in the film, after all of the past Riders and Sentai Red rangers were brought back to existence, he joined the past Kamen Rider and sentai villains in trying to kill them.

Kamen Rider Bujin Gaim

Wanting Heaven's Power for himself so that he can take over the world, he led an army of kajin to battle against the 14 other Bujin Riders (Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, Decade, Double, OOO, Fourze, and Wizard) who were battling each other to unify the country. With the Utsubokazura Kaijin, he had it devour/absorb/kill the riders after personally defeating them, while he slaughtered the rider’s generals and the rest of their clans. The only survivors being Double, Fourze, and OOO. Before continuing the hunt, he had the Utsubokazura Kaijin travel to Gaim’s world and kidnap Mai due to mistaking her for the Princess of fate. As the kajin was about to do so, it was stopped by Gaim, Ryugen, and Baron who went on to chase it back into the crack it came from. Despite being saved, Mai followed after them by entering another crack created by Bujin Gaim.

Following this, he later led his army to attack the Temple of Honno-ji where the OOO army at night. While there, he proceeded to kill their general Oda Nobunaga, slaughter the majority of the clan (even advising his kaijin to leave no survivors even if a few end up surviving), and personally defeat Bujin OOO who would then be absorbed by the Utsubokazura Kaijin under Bujin Gaim’s orders. It was that this time that he met his good counterpart from the primary Kamen Rider universe. Luckily, Kouta and Mitsusane managed to escape before he could kill them.

The next day, he targeted the Double/W army and killed Bujin Double with the help of Takatora Kureshima who had mistaken Bujin Gaim for Kouta. Bujin Gaim would then repeat this process with Bujin Fourze as well as the secondary rider allies of Gaim and Wizard:Kamen Rider Ryugen/Mitsuzane Kureshima and Kamen Rider Beast/Kosuke (he had had the Utsubokazura Kaijin enter the main KR world and absorb Kosuke just after Ogre was defeated). Having the 14 Bujin riders’s souls he sacrificed them to the World Tree and began targeting Mai once again in order to obtain what he needed to rule the world. Before he could get her though, he was interfered by Gaim, Baron, Wizard, and Ryugen, During their battle, while Zangetsu took on Gaim Bujin; Wizard, Gaim, and Baron managed to rescue Nito and Mitsuzane before they were completely digested by the Utsubokazura Kaijin.

Despite being outnumbered six to one, Bujin Gaim still managed to overcome them all (even confidently claiming he would take them all on before the fight actually happened) and entered Leyasu's castle where he targeted Mai one final time before being interfered (again) by Gaim and Wizard (in his Infinity Style). This culminated in him merging himself with the God Tree and assuming Lotus Position and defeating Gaim and Kamen Rider Wizard. The evil Bujin then unleashed an army of Kajin to destroy the riders and briefly had the God Tree consume Wizard and Gaim. Luckily, this would be his undoing as the souls of the 14 Bujin riders would give the two their powers, allowing them to escape and finish him off with using Wizardragon's Strike End (which hit a sacrificed Suika mode Oodama Mode) and their Strike Wizard and Burai Kicks, finally ending his reign of terror for good and preventing him from taking over the world.

Heinous Standard

Ogre

While technically not the first cannibalistic phantom (that distinction would go to Beast Chimera), he’s still easily the eviler of the two. For one, unlike Beast Chimera, who had respect for Kosuke and was honorable and even let him free from their pact and usually only limited his cannibalism to bad phantoms, Ogre was willing to devour Wizardragon as well who was good. Independent of his cannibalism, he’s also willing to commit mass murder and cause destruction through Koyomi whom he allowed to create multiple explosions which no doubt would have killed lots of people. This even extends to his final appearance where he assisted Asmodeus and the other villains in trying to wipe out all the riders and Red sentai rangers and take over the world. This imo allows him to stand out from Wiseman, Phoenix, Legion, and Sora.

Bujin Gaim

Since Bujin Gaim never truly crosses over into the main kamen rider universe, he doesn’t have to be compared to most of the other villains throughout the franchise. Within the World of Sengoku Era, he’s easily the most heinous rider. However, since Ryugen, Baren, and Zangetsu crossover into his world, he has to be compared to them.

With Ryugen, he later went on to assist Redyue in taking over Earth with Helheim, which would have resulted in humanity going extinct. With Zangetsu, he (initially) attempted to cull 6/7 of the human population (6 billion) in order to deny Helheim its food source with “ Project Ark”. With Baron, at the end of the series, he attempted to take over the world with an army of Inves in order to create a world where the strong are not oppressed by the weak, something that would have naturally resulted in lots of death and destruction.

With Bujin again, he’s responsible for the deaths of all 14 Bujin Riders and 12 generals (including Nobonga and excluding Leyashu and the general for the Double army). This arguable gives him the highest confirmed/successful body (15 of which were named) compared to Ryugen, Baron, and Zangetsu. It’s also shown that his actions caused the god tree to not rain for several months and cause lost of famine, forcing the people of Japan to expand their territories.

It should be noted that he doesn’t gain access to the God tree until the very end of the movie (once all the other Bujin riders were killed and he obtained their souls) so his resources mainly were limited to the plant Kajin and the other Kajin in his army from past shows. Plus, the tree gets destroyed before he could continue to use it to dominate Japan and the whole world. With Baron, he when he was overlord (making him more powerful than Gaim), had access to a hora of Hellheim all over the planet and the Inves. With Zangetsu, he had access to the Yggdrasil tower which had weapons capable of destroying humanity (especially the city of Zawame). With Ryugen, he had the luck of Redyue (who is way more powerful than Bujin Gaim) invading Earth at the time and allowing him to help her as well as having access to the yggsandril tower, thus allowing him to interfere with Kouta and his allies efforts to stop them.

Mitagating Factors

Ogre

Boy Wiseman just can’t catch a break with this. Once again like Sora, Phoenix, and Legion, Ogre has none and isn’t loyal to Wiseman in the slightest. While he does assist Asmodeus and the other villains in his final appearance, nothing indicates he’s loyal to them and likely works with them do his and their shared grudge of the riders (specifically Wizard).

Bujin Gaim

While Bujin Gaim is not the most memorable villain in terms of personality, I wouldn’t go so far as to call him a GDV. He’s clearly shown to be greedy and power hungry, given he constantly talks about his desire to kill all the other Bujin riders so that he could obtain their powers and eventually rule the country and the world for himself (ie “the world will be mine” kind of dialogue). Besides that, he has no redeeming qualities and is easily the most evil Bujin Riders. Unlike the other 14 riders who sincerely wanted to unify the country/world and cared for their people and were loyal to their generals, Bujin Gaim has no such qualities and is only loyal to himself and simply wants to dominate everything and enslave everyone.

At one point, while overpowering Gaim/Kouta and Baron/Kaito, he lets out a smug evil laugh, indicating sadism. Upon merging with the tree, he states “This is the retribution you recieve for underestimating my power”, once again showing his arrogance.

Final Verdict

I’ll give a yes for Ogre and a tentative yes for Bujin Gaim (I can understand if some say no) but you guys decide.
