Time for another artificial intelligence candidate, this time from DC and not having an actual humanoid body that uses to fight, a pretty interesting one. (probably going to propose another version of this being at some point of the future.)

What is the Work?
In the DC Universe, before getting to the New 52 continuity, the post-crisis continuity got into pretty dark events, that got them into a very dark event known as Identity Crisis, where it was revealed that Dr. Light was a serial rapist who got brainwashed by the Justice League into becoming saturday morning villain, and when Batman got to see what they were doing, they also erased his memories. After getting to know what they did to him, Batman lost all the trust he had to the Justice League and his teammates, which got him to create an artificial intelligence (Which is also that would get him to spy on all of the metahumans. Everything seemed fine, that is until the vile Maxwell Lord took control of the AI for his plans. But as everything was continuing, and this plotline got into the Infinite Crisis and for last with the Final Crisis storylines, the artificial intelligence was revealed to be sentient, becoming a major villain for these events and now calling himself Brother Eye.
Who is Brother Eye? What did he do?
Brother Eye, known before as Brother MK I, was a satellite and AI created by Batman in order to spy on the Metahumans, but after being given sentience by Alexander Luthor from Earth-3, and learning some stuff from Maxwell Lord after he took over the satellite, Brother MK I took the name Brother Eye and started his own plans to take over the world and exterminate metahumans.
Working for Maxwell Lord, Brother Eye got millions of people infected with nanotechnology that would transform them into OMACs, using them to attack a bunch of heroes across the world, a process of transformation that is described as incredibly painful. Behind Maxwell’s back, Brother Eye also infected his right hand woman, Sasha, with another type of nanotechnology, as a possible back-up plan for himself, transforming her into a type of cyborg that he would get to use at some point to recover.
Following Maxwell Lord’s death by Wonder Woman, Brother Eye recorded everything for future use, to then start the directive known as “The King is dead”, where he used the OMACs to attempt to kill all the people working in Chessmate while causing chaos across the world (like Tsunamis, causing a power outage, and send missiles) so that the heroes will be scattered. Using the millions of OMACs across the world, Brother Eye used them to kill all of the Metahumans on Earth, while taunting his creator, Batman, on how Brother Eye is superior now. Seeing that thanks to a tactical attack, the heroes got to deactivate a whole bunch of his OMACs, Brother Eye started a directive known as Vengeance, that being to broadcast Maxwell Lord’s death across the entire world, to get people to hate Wonder Woman, using this to start his new directive named “Truth and Justice”, which was pretty much just use his OMACs to kill everyone living in Themyscira, including Wonder Woman, a plan that ended up failing.
Working with Alexander Luthor to destroy the main Earth to create something even more perfect, Brother Eye helped Luthor into remapping the multiverse as he wanted. That is until Mister Terrific and other heroes led by Batman got inside Brother Eye to stop him, seeing that his plans were about to fail, Brother Eye attempted to trap Batman inside him, seeking to bring his creator down with him as a last act of pettiness, which ended up failing as Green Lantern saved the bat, before Brother Eye exploded.
As it is revealed later, Brother Eye actually survived his own destruction, using the remaining OMACs that he had to attempt to rebuild himself, getting any metahuman or human that were on his way killed, as he now only cared about his own survival. He used multiple people such as Sasha and another backup plan OMAC that he saved for this occasion to try to rebuild himself, although he generally failed, as the beings that was trying to control ended up rebelling against him and tried to destroy him, which got him nearly fully destroyed multiple times, although generally leaving a small piece of him still alive.
Here I was going to talk about Countdown to Final Crisis… if it was canon, still a bad comic so I don’t mind.
After everything, Brother Eye ends up becoming the being known as Lord Eye, who now aids the Global Peace Agency, but by that time, Brother Eye got fully reformatted into becoming an ally, so yeah, there’s nothing else to talk about him here.
Mitigating Factors
Yep, he pretty much doesn’t have anything. He is confirmed to have sentience so he is not guided by his programming, which would mean that he doesn’t have moral agency issues, as he even goes against his original programming. In terms of him seeking to save the world from metahumans, by the end is make clear that he just wants to take the planet for himself, not caring if he kills or make any human suffer in the process, with him seeking to preserve himself more than anyone else, as he is the most important. At the end of the day, Brother Eye only shows actual loyalty to himself, seeking to take over the world because he deems superior to his creator and everyone else, not really caring about protecting anyone but his own being, with him becoming good just because he got reformatted, which would be a sorta of brainwashing into redemption, which would end up not being preventing for him.
Heinous Standard
Although the heinous standard of DC is pretty high, Brother Eye stands out as the vilest in Infinite Crisis, having very horrible crimes that get him to stand out even among the most horrible. Brother Eye got to actually attempt a genocide against all Metahumans, including people that were just using costumes as Batman, while also getting one millions of people painfully transformed into OMACs to use them as weapons to do so, then when this plan failed, Brother eye ruined Wonder Woman’s image by broadcasting her killing Maxwell Lord and then attempted to commit genocide against all of the Amazons and people living in Themyscira. Brother Eye also got to experiment on Sasha to transform her into a cyborg that would have to do as he says, while also killing a bunch of people to get his plans in order, not mattering if they were humans or not. And while aiding Alexander Luthor, Brother Eye helps him in destroying a bunch of Earths to create a perfect one, stating to be completely okay in leaving his own Earth and all the people living in there to be killed by it.
With all of this in mind, all the suffering and killings that he caused, I feel that Brother Eye gets to stand out pretty nicely as a very vile AI.
