Hello everyone, as you people know, I'm still escaping from my obligations of proposing the Spawn movie villains, so after hiding in this infinite mansion that I found, I noticed that a certain demon was proposed before (proposed by my friend), but in it, I found a certain hospital with a cow in it, so there's that, it's not going to be easy, but I think this thing deserves a proper discussion.
What's The Work?[]
Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion, is an indie horror game, made by Akuma Kira and AMGSheena. In this game, we are a random guy that goes to investigate a mansion, that ends up being the home of a cute ghost named Spooky, that would tell us to pass 1000 rooms to get out of there and stuff like that, as we pass for all of those rooms, the protagonist would have to escape a lot of beings, named Specimens, that would try to kill them.
But we are not going to focus that much in that gamemode, but in the DLC Karamari Hospital, which is also just a gamemode in the HD Renovation of the game. In this one, after getting to the last elevator of the game, in the room 995, our protagonist falls deep inside the mansion after the elevator suffered from a malfunction thing, then, after passing some rooms, we get to a weird hospital, that would end up getting more Specimens in it, this time called Monsters. But why did this hospital ended up like this? well, that answer is simple, and that answer is the candidate of today, Monster number 5, the Ghost Cow.
"Your fear allows me to enter your mind. Your obligation allows me to control your hands. Your reason allows me to break your eyes. Your guilt allows me to loosen your neck. Your expectations allows me to hide the truth. Your tendencies have allow me to make you forget."
Who is it? What Has It Done?[]
The Monster 5 also known as the Ghost Cow, is pretty much the main antagonist of this DLC. After walking for a while and obtaining enough stuff to proceed in the hospital, our protagonist gets to a weird isolation room place, a maze inside of the hospital, where they will have get the key that would finally get them out of here, but in this place there is one last Monster, this being Monster 5 (a Monster that I pretty much never saw in my first playthrough, as the mace is pretty easy to pass without even seeing it). This monster that looks completely terrifying doesn't seem as much besides of it appearence, but...there is something that is revealed to us when we die to it in the Karamari Hospital or the Endless Mode...That revelation, is that this Monster, is the one who was controlling the ones in the hospital, and pretty much is the responsible of all that happened there.
Now that we know some stuff of this Monster, let's talk about what he did in the hospital, as the notes that are found in this place tell, the doctors and nurses started doing very weird stuff, something that they didn't even know that they did, as after doing it, they didn't have any memory of it. For example, the notes start with a Doctor named Hamada, who, without knowing, ended up not preescribing the anti-depressing that he needed to give to one of his patients, but instead gave this patients a lot of doses of hallucinogenics, causing this patient with depression to scream and expressing terror all the time pretty much, with all of this, the patient pretty much lost their sanity. And there's more to this, as multiples other doctors, started doing very twisted stuff to their patients, without even knowing, it's like someone else that are identical to them, were going against their patients, we have patients that got their organs removed without any reason, cats getting killed in twisted ways, a lot of patients dying for "surgical complications", even a nurse, after doing those horrible stuff, decided to get radiation in her head, so that whathever thing was in her head making her do all of this stuff, couldn't get into her head...that didn't end up well for her. Besides all of this, we find that the majority of Monsters of this hospital..were human at some point, Monster 1 was a security guard, Monster 3 is the head of a baby, which for what we can get of the theme song that it has, it seems that whathever was controlling the doctors, it made them do an experiment with a baby in the basement. And of course, the most obvious of all, Monster 4, who was a patient left a lone with a desfigurated face in the basement, with nothing to eat, slowly dying there, which caused it to commit suicide...sadly for him, he would end up coming back to life, with hunger, a hunger that doesn't want to satiate, as it hurts people, but he has to, so he can stop.
But what happens with Monster 5? how is it the one responsible for all of this? well, the game over of this creature, reveals to us that is a sadistic entity, that likes to get inside the mind of the people, making them do nasty stuff and then made them forget all about what they did...Does that sound familiar? yeah, it is pretty much understand, that Monster 5 is the one who got in the mind of the Doctors and Nurses, to make them do all of those heinous act, just for the kicks, as this monster, is also a reference to the bovine cow disease, which has a similar effect, that is the reason it is a cow. (the quote of this cow is in the image that I got by the way)
Mitigating Factors[]
There's only one thing to mention here, does the Ghost Cow shows enough characterization? Well, I think he shows enough to count, although he stands out barely in that regard, at least compared to other Specimens. Ghost Cow shows a sadistic personality, only liking violence for the evulz, which is shown pretty much in his sadistic smile that it carries all the time, the death screen text (which is said in first person, which means that it is said by this cow, and not just a cool text, as Specimen 3, who is not saying the text that appears in it's death screen), and pretty much all the action that it does, are full on just because it likes causing pain and suffering, making people do horrible stuff just to make them forget about it, and get them to suffer the remorse of it. At the end, Monster 5 is just a sadistic and ruthless entity, that likes to toy with people just for the kicks.
Heinous Standard[]
I think this is a very important aspect for two motives:
Is there enough proof to say that the Monster 5 is the one responsible for all of this?[]
Let's start with the biggest issue that I had...It could be seen as speculation that the Monster 5 is responsible for all of this, but I feel there is enough proofs of it: First of all, it is pretty clear that there is an entity doing this and is not just mass hysteria or something, as it is said in the notes: "I feel like there is a monster inside my head and it's pushing me away while it works on something.", "It wasn't me..I swear it wasn't. It may have been my body and my hands, but I know it wasn't me." Something sinister is beating on the wall of my subconscious, beating like a war drum motioning me to march down into Hell.", so yeah, we can't take that off the list. But why is the Monster 5 in specific responsible? well, that is simple, I feel there proofs came from: 1: The Death screen text: Which pretty much says what the Monster 5 does, which connects completely good with what the other doctors were saying about all of this, being controlled to do heinous acts and losing all memories of it. 2: The notes about those events just end, coincidently, before entering the isolation room, where the Monster 5 lives. 3: Monster 5 is the only entity that doesn't resemble a human, while the other Monsters do, generally looking like people that would be in a hospital. 4: Akuma Kira does seem to confirm this, or pretty much doesn't denies that this is what Monster 5 does, which can be seen in a video about all of the karamari hospital and endless mode specimens, from the youtuber Wambu (I have to admit, this last point isn't very strong, as it wasn't an interview, and Akuma Kira was acting as Spooky...but well, the other 3 points stand enough on their own.) I feel that with all of this, it is enough to say that Monster 5 is the one who did all the things of the notes, mostly for what is revealed to us in the death screen text, and how it is shown that it gets into our brain...And for what we get, the isolation room mace, seems to have happened in our brain, where we escape from this entity so it doesn't control us, as after getting to the room where the key is and the note about Spooky, and we get back, we will inmediatly get out of the isolation room, never getting to pass for the mace again. We also have how after this, our character can enter a room of the hospital that doesn't seem to actually exist, "the Deformity Wing", which before the encounter, our character only says that the door is fake, but after it we can access, showing a room pretty much organic, that is understand, to have been created by the small damage that Ghost Cow did to our brain, although that last part is not confirmed, just wanted to write it just in case.
Does it pass the Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion heinous standard?[]
I think so, even with characters as Spooky, and the other specimens (Such as Specimen 11 and 8), Monster 5 stands out for the cruelty of it's acts, pretty much responsible of the creation of all the other Monsters of the hospital, messing with people brain, and forcing them to do pretty bad stuff, such as taking out organs, killing a lot of patients and playing with their sanity, while also being responsible of experiments in babies (Monster 3), leaving patients to die from hunger and causing them to commit suicide (Monster 4) and pretty much very cruel stuff in all of this hospital, which is revealed in notes, blood, and the monsters from the hospital. Not being off-screen villany, as Monster 5's actions are all shown in the notes and the state of the hospital, so yeah, I think it passes. Also, Monster 5 doesn't have as much resources as Spooky, so yeah.
Final Verdict[]
A very weak yes I think, I actually don't know how it is going to go, but let's see, for causing the existence of multiples monsters, getting multiples patients killed by controlling the minds of doctors, getting them to do horrible stuff, such as experimenting in babies, getting a patient to kill themselve after being left without any type of food in the basement (leading to them becoming a full on tragic zombie cannibal), taking out organs of patients and getting one depressed patient to lose their sanity, while also having a nurse getting radiation in her head to stop it from getting into her head. Monster 5 stands out as the most cruel and fucked up Specimen of the game, who also tries to control our mind to make us hurt ourselves and then make us forget all about it.
