I'm going to get into four religious candidates for this month, idk why, I guess it was coincidence, let's start with this.
What's The Work?[]
Evil is a live action tv series that focus around three characters, Kristen, Ben and David, working for the church to see if certain supposed paranormal events are real and need further help by the priests, for example. see if a person is possesed by a demon, that an angel provoked a miracle, stuff like that. The series generally tries to give explanations to this supernatural events, going into psychology or plain science, although every event ends up being explained, as a good quantity of times these events end up actually being supernatural, which makes everything even more interesting. Of course, our protagonists could get in danger for all of these stuff, including people that seek for the demonic, so there is a good quantity of evil people on it, and today we are going to talk about the first one that appeared.

Who is Him? What Has He Done?[]
Orson Leroux was a normal married man, that is until he was locked down by the police for the murder of three entire families and the raping of the three wives of those. Everything seemed clear and cut, as it was obvious that he did these crimes, that is until it was said that he was possesed by a demon named Roy, so it wasn't actually him who did it, that is where Kristen gets again into the case, asking Leroux about him supposedly being possesed, which he denies by saying he doesn't believe in this stuff, that is when Kristen started praying and drawing a cross on the table, which weirdly enough got Leroux mad, causing him to attack her while chanting in latin.
As the episode continues, Kristen joins David and Ben in this investigation, getting into his house and talking with his wife, which seem to believe that he was actually possesed, as he acted very weird before the murders. But it is then seen that the noises that she heard were caused by the disherwasher, and weren't actually demonic, that is when they investigated the computer of her, discovering that Leroux used it, where he got to talk with a guy named Leland Townsend, where both of them talked about their wishes to do multiple horrible crimes to other people, with Leland incetivating him into embracing that darker side, which Leroux gladly accepted to it, leading to him killing those families and doing what he wanted to them. In that conversation, it is also revealed that Leland told Leroux how to act possesed to avoid justice that way, even giving him some information about Kristen, so when he acts like a demon, he could scare and convince Kristen by talking about stuff that no one should know. Thanks to this information, Leroux ends up in jail for the murders, with him getting a hatred towards Kristen for catching him.
Later on in the first season, Leland gets to free Leroux by getting another serial killer to confess that he was the one who actually killed those families. Now free, Leroux starts to get close to Kristen's house, seemingly to ask for forgiveness for his behaviour towards her, although this was just to scare her by his presence, as he was now an innocent man that could get close without the police doing anything. With help of Leland, Leroux seeks to kill the entire family of Kristen, with this attempts ending when Kristen goes to his house and kills him.
Even dead, Leroux kept tormenting Kristen, for his guilt of killing someone, even if she knew that he deserved it, getting to a point where she got to see the supposed spirit of him, who taunted her for this and how he could have killed her entire family, that being his last appearence in the story.
Mitigating Factors[]
Pretty much nothing, he doesn't seem to actually care for his wife, seeking more to commit any crimes that he wanted, even his wife was weird out by him to the point of getting a lover, and of course, Leroux wasn't possesed at all, so nothing in that regard. At the end, Leroux was just a complete psychopath that only seeked to kill people for his own pleasure.
Heinous Standard[]
Although the heinous standard of the series is not low at all, Leroux stands out as the worst serial killer of the series, killing three entire families, including the children, and raping the wives while also becoming personal towards Kristen by planning to kill her four daughters, not having as much resources and connections as other villains of the series like Leland (who I'm going to come back for him later), and compared to other serial killers, he does have a good quantity of victims, while having children in his victims and being a rapist too, which gets him to keep even against villains like the serial killer of children and the nurse that got multiple of her patients killed.
Final Verdict[]
I think it's a yes for Leroux, for killing three entire families and then seeking to kill the four daughters of one of the protagonists, just for sadism, pleasure and pettiness.
