gen:LOCK is Rooster Teeth's new animated webseries. This show got a LOT of promotion prior to its release, and Rooster Teeth was treating it like it was going to be the new RWBY: celebrity voice actors, countless commercials, and writing and directing from RWBY mainstay and voice of Roman Torchwick, Gray G. Haddok. Now that the first season of the series has wrapped up, did it come close to what they were expecting?

First off: my thoughts about the series before it came out. Let's just say I was excited but skeptical; I really wanted to see something epic and innovative, but doubted it would be as good as RWBY, Red vs. Blue, or Nomad of Nowhere. And I should also state a HUGE issue; not with the show itself, but with its availability, and that's tha…

Right off the bat, you might think it's weird that I'm including a stand-up comedy show in a series of movie reviews. But I consider it a movie, even if it is a taping of a live performance. I say it still counts. And they're my reviews, so there. With that being said, I will review it a little differently than I do the other movies.

Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias is one of my favorite standups, with his hilarious stories and even funnier deliveries. Some of his stories like the "Volkswagen Bug", "Racist Gift Basket", …

Well, RWBY Volume 6 has come to an end. As obsessed with this series as I am, I think it's about time I reviewed a Volume. Lots of spoilers and opinions ahead.

Before we begin, let's go over what I think of the series thus far. RWBY Volumes 1, 2, and 3 I think are some of the greatest pieces of animation ever produced. They were well paced, interesting, funny, and had hands-down some of the best fight scenes in anything I'd ever seen, and still remain some of the best in recent memory.

However, in early 2015, the series' creator, director, lead animator, and original voice of Lie Ren passed away. The series had to be put on hold as the crew (affectionately dubbed "CRWBY") had to figure out what to do without their leader. RWBY Volume 4 came out i…

    The Nerdy Awards

    December 30, 2018 by NerdWithAKeyboard

Welcome, one and all, to the first annual Nerdy Awards!

Throughout the year of 2018, we've seen amazing accomplishments in the ever-expanding field of moviemaking. And while the Oscars struggle with juggling their controversy, political bias, and overall bad choices, the Nerdy Awards are taking a look back at the wonderful films that made 2018 truly a year of the film.

But before we announce winners and give out awards, here are the quick run-downs of how the Nerdy Awards work:

    • The option with the most votes is the winner of the Nerdy Award
    • The runner-up gets the Nerdy Seal of Approval

Also, before we hand out awards, please take a moment to honor the lives of filmmakers, actors, and icons that we sadly lost in 2018.

Starting with the first feature-length American animated film ever made, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Did it stand the test of time?

Snow White is a beautiful princess living as a slave to her wicked stepmother, the Queen. After the Queen is told by the Magic Mirror that Snow White is the only one fairer than her, the vain Queen tries to have Snow White killed. However, the Huntsman she sends to do it finds he cannot and tells her…
