For today's Pure Evil Proposal we go into the animated TV series of Disney's Aladdin, the series is notable for many villains and some rather notably nasty ones - however the one I propose today definitely packed a punch in more ways than one and was a particularly brutal villain who would likely make even beings like Jafar take a moment for pause.

introducing: Kileem

The Work[]

Disney's Aladdin is a continuation of the fantasy tale of the Arabian hero, Aladdin and his friends, set after the Revenge of Jafar (but before the King of Thieves) the series explores how Aladdin serves as the hero of Agrabaha, as well as the world in general - often he will fight a wide array of magical villains ranging from Mirage (the embodiment of evil), Mozenrath (a power-hungry sorcerer) to less threatening antagonists such as the bumbling Abis Mal.

Who Is He / What Has He Done?[]

Kileem is the evil ancestor of the beloved Sultan and was stated as the "dark secret" Sultan's family had tried to hide for many years, having turned himself into a stone statue to obtain a strange form of immortality Kileem was known for leaving behind a suit of armor that made whoever wore it invincible, unknown to all was the Kileem also cursed the armor so that whoever wore it would be possessed by Kileem's evil spirit.

When a giant minotaur named General Tusk goes on a rampage and can't be stopped by the efforts of the heroes Sultan decides he has no choice but to don the armor, fearing for his kingdom as well as Jasmine, who refused to surrender to General Tusk.

Sultan would don the armor and became possessed by Kileem, while he effortlessly defeated General Tusk the evil spirit of his ancestor changed his personality drastically and he would fly into a horrendous rage anytime even the slightest "insult" was thrown his way: when Aladdin returned to the kingdom with an ambassador from a neighboring nation he was eager to show said ambassador the kindness of the Sultan, the ambassador in turn was delighted at the prospect of forging an alliance.

However, both sensed a change as the Sultan's throne room was now decorated with weapons and war-trophies, including the giant tusks of General Tusk, when the ambassador innocently remarked that it was incredible a man of Sultan's "stature" defeated General Tusk the spirit of Kileem flew into an evil rage and began to painfully crush the ambassador's hand and exchanged a fiery threat:

Kileem: "what you do *mean* a man of my *stature*!?"

Ambassador: "forgive me, I meant to disrespect"

Kileem: "after an insult like that you should *BEG* me not to declare war on your kingdom!"

Shocked at the brutality of the usually kind-natured Sultan Aladdin quickly escorted the ambassador to safety as Jasmine noted how the armor had made Sultan strong but had changed him for the "worse".

Things proceeded to get worse as Kileem's influence grew and he planned to conquer all the seven deserts (Jasmine later clarified this as "the whole world") - all due to what he saw as a personal insult.

When Aladdin and his crew try to stop Kileem he labels them traitors and attacks, he then has Jasmine arrested and sentenced to execution for her part in his "betrayal", however Razoul refuses to harm Jasmine as he realizes the Sultan has gone insane and frees her, this results in Kileem denouncing Razoul as another traitor and declaring he shalll execute Jasmine personally, tossing her from the tower, luckily she is rescued by Aladdin and Carpet.

Now enraged beyond all reason Kileem goes on a war-path, threatening to destroy the kingdom itself, Jasmine tells Genie that he must stop Kileem and that he was no longer her father, Genie is saddened but knowing the threat Kileem possesses fights him, yet even Genie's magic is no match for a literally invincible Sultan, who beats him badly.. however Genie does distract him long enough for the group to find out the true source of the curse, Kileem's statue.

Aladdin tricks Kileem into charging at him before leaping to the side, since only Kileem's invincible armor could destroy the statue, when the statue shattered Kileem's evil spirit rose and screamed in rage before being destroyed for good, freeing Sultan - who has no memory of his time as Kileem's slave and simply asks if he managed to defeat General Tusk.

Overview of Crimes[]

Kileem abused everyone around him but his most notable crimes include open hostility to other nations for very petty reasons, willing to go to war over something as trivial as what he saw as an insult to his height (even after the ambassador profusely apologized) - he also was willing to execute anyone who even remotely spoke against him, including Jasmine, the Sultan's own daughter.. his evil nature is made all the worse in that he possesses Sultan, one of the kindest and child-like of the cast, turning a deeply loving ruler and father into a brutal dictator ruled solely by rage.

Heinous Standards?[]

the series has a number of fairly dark antagonists but I think Kileem holds his own, especially since he could quite easily of conquered the entire world if he desired and was only foiled by his own evil nature, had Aladdin not tricked him into smashing his own statue Kileem made no secret he would of enslaved the entire world and considering how he ruled Agrabaha many lives would undoubtedly of been lost to him as he had no qualms with threatening execution for even the slightest of "insults".

Migating Factors[]

none, even Sultan notes that Kileem is a dark secret his family tried to hide and there's no sympathetic traits - even by the standards of Aladdin Kileem is just plain nasty.

Verdict[]

a fairly easy yes, in my opinion.
